| Comparing it with the light novel, it's not unusual for it to be simplified or else you would get giant text bubbles and a manga series with volumes reaching the hundreds; when adapting to manga, and even more so if it ever gets adapted to anime to save time. Though they could have spent a little more time on the nuances like explaining a little bit about characters being introduced, or what Dran thinks to himself towards said characters when they are being introduced, even if just for the first time at the beginning to give us a sense of what his feelings are now that he's a human. But despite the minor changes that were forgettable, I have no issue with the story. The art style on the other hand...leaves much to be desired. The light novel illustrations look more refined worthy to be adapted to an A-list anime. Whereas in the manga, character heads often look squished, and overall rushed as if it was pencil-sketched out briskly to meet a deadline sacrificing quality, worthy of only being published in a throwaway newspaper. That being said, I'll still be following this because I enjoy the story, with the manga giving me a slightly clearer picture when reading the novel. |
