| All of the yuri going on in here is seriously getting to me _<D that said; i'm not against yuri, i'm not against hetero either, but my love goes to yaoi and all of the female kissing and blushing that's happened in only the three episodes i've watched, plus the opening and endings are seriously creeping me out, ...a little, i mean, i've been on the internet, i've seen things, but still -w-' -is all of that happening in the manga too or has the anime strayed? Does anyone else have thoughts like these or are all of you just; Go for it! ;3 ? |

That's a little hypocritical. not really, we all have our own kind of interests and just like how some people dislike seeing same-sex relationships of any kind, i just don't really like female x female relationships, and for that matter, i'm a bit iffy about straight stuff too but i suppose the male makes up for it -w-' -just like some types of foods aren't for everyone FxF isn't my cup of tea .w. -and there seems to be quite a lot of it in this season os SMC -w-' |

| So don't watch? There's no reason to announce it to everyone around. Especially if you reason it with "I like yaoiz, but yuriz make me sick" scheme. Nobody forces you to watch anything and you don't have to officially excuse yourself. |
| By the way, I don't like yuri and still I am watching the anime because I WANT. I thought you will have a better explanation why you dont want to watch this (like example the horrible thing they did with Crystal I and II and you are afraidthay they do the same thing). |

Do you cover your eyes? Run away offended? Almost any show has romantic subplots, and while usually they are almost always between hetero couples, when sometimes a gay or lesbian couple appears, many people claims to be disgusted or just simply state that they need to drop the show because they can't watch that. Because they don't like it, or it's not "their cup of tea", or some similar excuse to justify themselves. If you are disgusted or offended or bothered by two people in love (or attracted to each other, whatever), just because of their gender, then you have an issue. You can watch a love story without it being personally appealing or arousing to you. Maybe the blame is on anime culture on itself who treats same sex relationships as fetishes and not like real relationships between a man and a man or a woman and a woman. That's why yaoi and yuri genres exist and why do we get weird shit like super lovers instead of shows portraying realistic gay relationships. In any case, like @Beikonated said, there was truly no need for you to get on the internet and create a thread to announce to everyone that lesbians make you uncomfortable. |
| I'm straight and I love yuri. LOOOOOOVE YURI. And I'm a chick. I actually dislike yaoi, but not because it's two guys- Rather because yaoi tends to be poorly written and rapey. I'm all about fan-yaoi pairings though ( I have my share of them), it's just that the stuff that actually gets published is badly written. I see you watched a bunch of old Sailor Moon, so you should already know it's full of yuri. Sailor Moon always has been. And Madoka Magica is on your faves and heaven knows that's yuri bait. Also you're what, 27? Aren't you, you know... A little old to be made uncomfortable by yuri? I mean I would get it if you were in high school, sure, still growing and figuring things out etc etc but you're a grown-ass woman. I'm also confused how you can be made uncomfortable by yuri (a genre which has many realistic/consensual series, like Aoi Hana) when you like a genre (yaoi) that is filled with so much unsolicited molestation, rape, etc. FUN FACT: Yuri began as something geared at girls who like girls. The term yuri was coined as a tongue in cheek thing because it was a popular girl's name at the time. Yaoi, to my understanding, was always more of a fetish thing. |
