Kaito's reaction is expected. Remembering his personality in the beginning of ZEXAL, I knew he will be suspicious and hostile towards Yuya and the others... Shun, you're a member of Resistance so hurry up come and stop them!

I have a mixed feelings about the new OP. I don't really mind with the song, but near the end of the OP video where Yuya happily having his Entertainment Duel doesn't really fit with the current atmosphere. Does this mean Yuya will have a chance to show his Entertainment Duel even in the middle of ruins like that?

I think that's kinda the point of Yuya's whole arc throughout the show so far- it's what they spent, like, half of this episode talking about.
Yuya's lived a life of peaceful, happy "Entertainment Dueling" all his life in Standard. Then Academia invaded, his friend Yuzu was captured, and through Yuto's memories, talks with Dennis, Sora and Shun, and his time in the Synchro dimension he's learned just how rare and precious his kind of childhood was. Now, he's determined to show that to the rest of the dimensions- to show them that Dueling doesn't have to be a fight for life and death. It's his way of fighting Academia, proving his morals through his words and duels rather than killing or carding everyone he fights.

And I mean, the OP's lyrics shows that too: "The only one who can surpass me (I think meaning his counterparts as well) is myself!"
"Hatred will not build our tomorrow... Smiles inspire people to be strong!"
"When you are struggling is the time to smile!... Let's start, showtime!"

The Opening theme thoroughly naive in many ways. as long Heartland not liberated people of heartland can't smile following Yuya ideal.
I swear these EGAO entertainment theme really annoying, why we can' have Yugo to become MC?
he may generic hotheaded but he lot more interesting than Yuya himself.

Making people smile and all is a good thing to me, but I have to agree that at the time like this it's naive. Heartland is different from City, it's much more difficult and almost impossible to show Yuya's ideal. Yuya may ease a bit of their pain by showing his Entertainment Duel to people who are saddened like he did with the refugees (the woman and her sons), but a war is still a war, there are just some things that cannot be solved through Entertainment Duel alone, and there are also some people who cannot change and won't accept that kind of ideal.

This is why he will evolve again. He learn in Maiami that he is powerless and unable to do anything. In City he learn for the first time that you have to accept other value first before sharing the value of your own. You cannot force other to accept you. In Rome you have to do what Roman do and make them gradually accept your way.

Yuya is the most dynamic MC. He isn't naive that think he is right all the time. More than other he have confronted with the harsh reality. Sure his ideal is still the same but how he approach it is different each time he evolve as duelist as well as character.
Kickstarter for Rokujouma is fully funded. Good work everyone. Lets wait for the result of our hard work together.

True, his eventual growth is what I like about him. Perhaps I'm worrying too much.

Still, I'm wondering...will there be a time Yuya will Duel an opponent that cannot be convinced no matter how hard he tries and he really has no choice but to defeat him completely? I'm curious if that kind of opponent appear, how will this affect his character?

Your answer is Yuri. No matter what there is no redeeming good quality of him as of now. By the time they face off I think it will be the peak of the story more so that the eventual end of duel with Professor.

Hmm, I have mixed feelings of the new opening, its a bit better than the previous opening but still like the first 2 openings through. Eh, roller skates? Don't really like recap but this episode is fine since previous arc was good but very long but at least it has some new material. Kaito... don't know much about his character because haven't watch ZEXAL yet but his dragon monster is interesting through. I may have to watch ZEXAL later... just for seeing what his character development was like.

A special DOUBLE episode, with the 2nd half basically being a recap ...
Can't believe it's already been 100 episodes though, feels like a month ago I started watching.

It was a dumb idea to put a new OP in episode 99 when it was still the Synchro dimension. Nothing was stopping them from using the OP in episode 100. smh

We're now in the XYZ Dimension.

DAT DSOD LOGO!

Sawatari gonna Sawatari.

My god. Strop screaming kid. That's how you get your family killed.

Project ARC. Roll credits!

Ah! Recap in disguise!

Roxas is in Arc-V? Oh snap!

DSOD ED. I had to close my eyes since I don't want the most epic movie in YGO history to be spoiled for me.
If you see that my post is exactly 1 month old (or more) from when it was posted... Don't waste your time, especially when you want to reply with something petty & insignificant. Assume that I've moved on (because I have).

Alexis/Asuka in the opening, hyped for her appearance.
Castel and some mecha phantom beasts monters make a cameo in the opening scene, love it when iconinc TCG cards appear in the anime.
The XYZ dimension is totally in ruins, to think YuGiOh would manage to top the distopian setting of 5'Ds.
"Turned into cards" doesn't sound as scary as it was probably intented tho.
I wonder if we are going to see what happened to the Synchro dimension after the heroes were transported out.
That mini recap by Yuya was totally skippable.
"Shy Obsidian" sound much cooler than "Kurosaki" (getting some Bleach flashbacks)

just realized in the recap. Jean Fell down while the rest of the gang, a Yuya and others flew up in the wormhole.

Ayy its kite. He blasted those Fusion guys into cards.
Those other fusion students don't really know what they're doing tbh. Theyre just following orders. They don't seem "Evil" to me (yet what they're doing turning people into cards is obviously bad) but i think they're only doing that because they think it serves a purpose of some kind (in a good way) (in their view) but they're ignorant about whats really going on.
Talking about some of them though. There's probably some maniacs among them. Also i saw a baby turned into a card. rip.
idk but those guys needs to be stopped. They ruined that beautiful xyz scenery.

OP has attack on titian destroying the wall.
