It was a happy end. Slightly unrealistic that Iku still loves him after 10 years, although its not surprising that she is searching for him. Was quite touching when they finally met.

Pretty nice ending of a story I picked up a long time ago. 6/10 overall, had ups and downs. The forbidden love aspect was entertaining and quite well done but there were some shoujo cliches and unnecessary drama throughout.

Lmao, that was so predictable.

This manga's first half was full of smut and shit. But overall, I would say this is more of a mature shoujo as it relied more on mature themes. Still below average imo.

Significantly better than the mediocre anime OVA. I wasn't expecting to pick this up, especially since I don't often read manga, but I'm kinda glad i did. Lots of ups and downs, but some pretty decent and interesting characters. Yano in particular is quite the Bro, and he deserved to be happy. The father is way to good for the mom though, honestly it's hard to believe a character like that can exist.

I think the sad is sorta fitting and acceptable. I don't hold much of the 10 year timeskip since that is just thrown in there for the sake of satiating some fans and is not the "true" ending imo, but still it denotes courage to stick with a controversial ending till the last minute. I did think the whole paternity issue would end up with some time of cop-out in terms of them not being related, but in a suprising twist the entire situation become even more muddled and taboo, and even more bizzare. Still was pretty interesting, if a bit twisted.

I wasn't a big fan of the art most of the time since I felt it was low quality, and I'm also not overly fond of the cliche shojo style. Iku honestly wasn't all that great in most respects, but i guess shoujo main female characters get a similar treatment to main character harem/ecchi leads, namely usually being useless, incompetent, and undeserving.

Besides Yano, the dorm counselor was cool as was his female, i see they are part of an earlier work by the author which i 'might' consider in the future, albeit it seems to be tragic based on the whole disease thing and "dead by 20" prediction.. Azu was also an interesting female and half sibling of Yori, would not have minded seeing them blossom an illicit relationship when she was teasing Yori, who also didn't seem to protest her actions.

Special mention to the ultimate douches of the story- the jealous little runt of a roomate Ogura, and the whore Kusonoki. At first earlier on i thought she was pretty cool, being willing to be with Yori even though she knew he didn't love her, but her actions at the end with the whole getting guys to try to rape Iku crossed all lines.. Oh and the mother is a pretty twisted slut as well honestly. I don't feel that she has any moralistic ground to stand on to condemn Yori and Iku for their inappropriate relationship. Her misdeed was equally as great, however with the added sickness of betrayal and dishonesty over the course of 17 years.

Overall I'll give this a solid 8/10, definitely one of the better manga I've read, and certainly underrated.

It wasnt really as bad as I thought. Though If I read this five years ago I'd probably pretty disturbed but times have changed and anime have corrupted my mind enough that seeing incest is not a big deal anymore.

It was a happy ending but of course they cant get married because they're twins so I guess that's why they only should us their reunion. The real mvp of this show is their father, like seriously, his wife got fucked by his friend on their wedding day and he forgave them wtf. Well anyway I think this manga isnt that bad but of course it's not for everyone. You need to have an open mind to read this.

The ending was very predictable, but that in itself isn't necessarily a bad thing. Even though they turned out to really be siblings in the end, I still thought the whole "who's the daddy" part to be pretty convoluted and quite unnecessary, especially because at the end of the day, it had little to no relevance to the heart of the issue i.e. falling for your brother/sister. Even if they weren't blood-related they would've still been siblings in the eyes of the law and society, so I think the author might've as well just stuck to the original premise without going on irrelevant tangents. The mom is still kindof a bitch tho.

Other than, it was alright I guess. The first half was extremely smutty, and while I can sympathize with Iku and Yori's pain in the second half, the fact that the whole relationship started because of Yori nearly assaulting his sister and manipulating her feelings still leaves a really sour taste in my mouth. The forbidden aspect of their love and its consequences were indeed handled pretty well, but I guess I would've enjoyed the series significantly more if Iku wasn't such a doormat.

5/10 wasn't bad, but wasn't really good either.

Sorry this review is about what you read or what you saw? Because in youtube the "ending" was that Yuri left for his school and she was crying in his bed and this was how it ended. But in wiki I read the whole plot and I found out that it continues...but I can't find the rest of the film anywhere. So is your review based on sth you read or you saw it?

This is the manga discussion forum, so the review you're reading is about the manga.

If you wanna comment on the OVA, the discussion thread is here: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=34147
The anime adaptation (what you've watched) is only one 46min long episode, and it doesn't cover the entirety of the story. If you wanna know what happens next then you need to pick up the manga. The anime adapts the manga up to chapter 16, so you can start reading from there if you don't feel like reading it from the beginning.

I finally finished reading this manga and I did not regret it at all. It was a very well written and illustrated manga. I loved the characters and the emotions beneath. I loved that even Yuri's real dad had really intense emotions not only for his love but also for his son. As picturing his regrets saying ''why didn't you tell me? If I knew that I would...'' I was really touched by Iku too when she said that she wanted Yori not to leave saying that even if people find herself dumb she understands everything... I think the best character is Iku's dad who forgave his wife even if he knew that his son was not his all those years. I was really emotional when Iku and Yori found themselves again... Practically meaning that God wanted them together. Because it was their destiny... Yori could have been anywhere, yet they still met again. The surprise character for me was Yano because he had a funny yet serious side. He loved Iku very much... I think as much as Yori to be honest... He loved her so much that he anted her to stay with her brother. So he gave up on her in order to be happy... also he remained a good and loyal friend... no surprise that Yori let Iku in Yano's care... If I were Iku I would have probably married Yano XD. The sex scenes were ok... because the feeling was pictured more than the details and stuff so I liked that. Anyway I would highly suggest reading this manga. I really enjoyed it and I shed many many tears to be honest...but I am emotianal in general ahhah!!! Hope you have fun reading it too <3

Man fuck this manga. I almost love everything about it until the last few chapters. Just when it was already foreshadowed that they ain't blood related but nooooooo nope nada, choto matei kudasai, nope, the plot has to go on that route of fucking everything up at the last minute. What a god damn cock tease, why can't they can just stop at the point of them realizing they ain't siblings but fucking destroy the buildup of the story at the end. That whore mom, goddamn can't you sew your legs shut for an hour for your wedding's sake. Jesus. If she just had, there would be no suffering for these poor kids, especially yori.

Man these parents are the worst. Just when we were about to pop champagne after the big revelation the plot just had to fuck everything up. Way to fuck with the readers, mate. God damn it.

Anyways, Haruka is the bro of the century. Hands down.

it was an 8.5 for me until the plot retracts the whole hype and magic. Giving us panels of them ultimately not being related and bam, just blew right on our faces. 5/10. Yep I'm deffo butt hurt.

Hello! So I just read the entire manga, but Im a little confused. Coz I've seen in reviews everywhere that after Yori and Iku fled the house and stayed at Yano's beach house, Yori told Iku that they should try to "conceive"? But I couldnt find that anywhere in the manga. Will you please help me? And what exactly was Yori's reason for leaving Iku?

Everyone's saying there was no reason for whole half sibling complication thing, because it didn't change anything.  (Ie it was still incest.)

IMO this complication was created to make Yori jump to the wrong conclusion that Iku was adopted, which ends up making the situation that much more tragic.  (Btw Yano is the first one to think that one of the twins is adopted and his wrong assumption influences Yori, for whom it's wishful thinking.)  The different father thing may also explain why Yori seems to be rather a bad boy who makes reckless decisions.

The assumption that Iku was adopted is not necessarily misjudged, because, for one thing, the twins don't look alike and are opposites intellectually and emotionally.  Also Iku was born a day later then Yori (but still could have been just after midnight.)  Most importantly, the mum didn't fill in Iku's baby book properly, apparently to avoid exposing the lie about the two different blood types.  (Although it would have made more sense for the mum to have filled in just Iku's baby book, and it seems like an inconsistency in the plot.)  Anyway, Yori now thinks there's no harm in openly having a relationship with Iku in front of their parents, wrongly believing it's not incest.  This leads to the shocking scene of the mum walking in on them doing it, which for me was the climax of the story, soon followed by them running away to Yano's place half-dressed.  There's no turning back after that.  The family as it was is permanently destroyed.

Furthermore Yori does seem to be also attracted to his other half-sister, and her to him.  It looks like Yori (and that half-sister too) have a somewhat twisted personality that is kind of into incest or taboo sex, probably inherited from the biological father (who forced himself on Saki on the day of her wedding to another guy, which was also rather a taboo act.)  Also Yori definitely admits  to Iku a couple of times that he is a pervert.  Iku OTOH has a kind, pure heart and so does Shunpei, her biological dad, who chose to raise Yori as his son (even knowing from the beginning that he obviously wasn't.)  Also Shunpei sticks with his family which grew from a natural love-based marriage, unlike the more twisted Mori-san, whose arranged marriage was short lived and who also had an illegitimate child outside of the marriage.

After initially disliking it, I now think the 10-year ten skip was a good idea, and this is a solid happy ending.

Yori, in his last conversation with Iku, sets up the ending by stating there’s a strong possibility that they won’t be able to forget each other--which is exactly what has happened as both seem to still be unattached.  (This was especially unlikely in the case of Iku who could have married the rich, handsome and devoted Yano.)

Also, Yori states his intention that he will break contact with Iku and go somewhere she can’t follow, predicting if they do meet again in the future, then they’ll know they’re definitely fated to be together.  And this unlikely meeting has also happened, implying God approves of it.  (Remember, near the end, how he asks God for help in the church.)

We also see clearly, now that Iku has broken free from the co-dependent relationship, she has blossomed into a successful independent woman who seems to hold down a responsible job, is immaculately dressed and is even fluent in English (a subject which before she was failing in school along with everything else.)  From being vastly inferior to him, she seems to have grown to become Yori’s equal now, so presumably the future relationship will be healthier.

Finally, Yori now seems to be based near London and the two can safely live together there, outside of Japan, where there would be far less danger of being exposed by old acquaintances as brother and sister.

Final questions I wondered about:

(1)    At first I thought Yori was a psychopath but ultimately he doesn’t seem to be 100% bad. Is Yori just a narcissist?  Is Yori bipolar?  (Why does he mostly seem to be a careful, calculating personality but then sometimes he suddenly acts so recklessly?  Around his family he also alternates between being cold but then he’s unexpectedly considerate and even sentimental.)

(2)    Since Yori seems at the end to have decisively cut ties with his original family, is that rich-seeming Dr Mori (Yori’s biological father) the one who ends up helping Yori financially to live overseas and study law?

(3)    In her search for Yori, how exactly does Iku know to zoom in on the library at Cambridge University?  Do we assume she has been relentlessly engaged in detective work all these years?
