E-card's a really cool game! I wonder if it's really a real life card game....

The slave can beat the Emperor? That's like a 2 beating an Ace.

Wow, what a sick game. This show is so unpredictable. I was sure Kaiji would lose in the first round but he won 2 in a row. I wonder how is he gonna get outplayed by Tonegawa.

to get 20million in 12 games, at some point he'll have to wager even more 10mm at a time...

But i like this game. the probability of winning a game changes in each round. At the beginning of each game, the Emperor has a 80% chance of winning, but if only citizens are played for the first 3 rounds, then the probability of winning that game becomes 50/50. Also, after each game, Kaiji is able to wager more and more millimeters (if he wins) and still leave a margin for each remaining game if he loses. So if he continues to win, he can get more and more money. But of course he'll lose some rounds.

I imagine the last game, Kaiji will be the Slave, he will bet all his remaining mm's and that game will put him right at 20M. Or worst case scenario, and most interesting, he will lose his ear.

Awesome episode, I really liked this type of games. ( minus the punishment of course, too fucking gross )

I'm sure Tonegawa got some sort of plan :P

Kaiji starts off with 2 wins, but it feels like it's going to go downhill really fast.

The zawa are out of control! This is madness! I fear that Kaiji will lose an ear in that duel. He's way too cocky right now. He could lose really fast before he even realize it.

He also don't seem to realize that he's totally in the losing end of that game. He's the only one pressured.

I'd rather lose an eye than an ear tbh. At least you get to wear a cool eyepatch xD

I bet Tonegawa let him win the first two rounds so Kaiji would get his hopes up.

I swear to god if Kaiji cries one more time for any stupid reason, my score for this anime is gonna drop quite a bit.

The conventional anime would make it, so that Kaiji HAS to lose something in the gamble.
What this anime does instead is completely brilliant.
Even though Kaiji can play the whole game without losing his ear,Tonegawa knows that Kaiji will be morally obligated to risk his ear for the ones who died, and further taunts him so that he does so.

Why are people still complaining about the issues of this anime? Kaiji is an anime series that is hammy and melodramatic as hell, right from the get-go.

Melodramatic my ass, more than half of the times he's cried he barely had any reason to. I wouldn't mind if it were a few tears and he'd be like "wipes tears okay I don't have time to cry, let's keep going" or something like that but instead he just cries and cries in almost every episode.

Anyway, I doesn't matter if you understand where I'm coming from or not, but dude ruined the entire anime for me.

-The narrator constantly describes what's happening on screen ("he places the card!") and making overdramatic comparisons like, "crossing the valley of death", accompanied with a literal image of someone crossing a valley.
-Characters spout hammy monologues about how pathetic people are.
-Crying in almost every ep, from other characters too.

And this is all in the first few episodes. Honestly, nothing about it has changed.
So why haven't you dropped Kaiji yet?

Because 1. The games were actually interesting and 2. Because it's been almost a month from my post and I've already completed it. I can't drop something I've already completed.

When I heard about the game, it sounded like another clone of Restricted Janken but it was way more exciting and strategic than expected.

I was right about the Saw drills... I hope he won't get too cocky and end up with one less hearing organ ;-;

Another thrilling game with high stakes.

But it's quite funny,Tonegawa can just sit there and relax, while Kaiji is getting deeper and deeper in his web.

WTF the E-Card Game is insane but at least nodoby dies.

I hope that Kaiji doesn't get his eardrum ruptured in the process.

I'm not as interested in this game as the previous ones tbh. I think it's because it doesn't involve random strangers.

It's surprisingly easy this time. Lowest risk of all the games so far and pretty good money. Honestly, after all he's been through, losing ear is nothing.
I'd gladly play this one myself tbh. But I guess there will be some "buts" at the end...

Yeah I think Kaiji is gonna lose. In every instance so far he's won little battles but never won overall. Cause if he ever won overall there would be no plot left since he'd lose his debt. So sadly I think its just gonna keep repeating this type of cycle until the end of season 2 when he finally clears his debt.

I hope Im wrong and they spice it up.

i honestly think it would've been more intense if he picked his eye, which i as the viewer would enjoy but ofc in kaiji's position, ig his ear does make sense.
i'm not a sadist tho, i think.

Начало новой арки. Интересное начало, главный герой натыкается будто на те же самые ошибки (в прочем, как и свойственно лудоману). Если он снова все проиграет и будет в еще более плохом положении - не удивлюсь, но вряд ли такой исход будет.
