Hey guys. The thing is bothering me so much that I had to ask you here.
In episode 5, Oikura is talking about her mother being a shut-down in a room. When she said her mom had left the room, she mentioned that her mom had turned the knob to make the door open. But! On the animation, we can see the door having a handle. What's more, Oikura said that the door became opened so her mom had to close it with a key lying near. All that means that the door:
1. Has a handle from the outside
2. Has a knob from the inside
3. Can be unlocked from the outside by using a knob, but not just being opened like with a handle. The knob works here like a key.
Do doors like that exist in real life? Or am I missing something? All I can think of is that the door has a normal handle from both sides, a knob which locks/unlocks the door from the inside (like a built-in key) and the keyhole from the outside so it can be locked/unlocked from the outside, right on the opposite side of a "knob". Any opinions?

They probably meant this kind of door knob....I think.
http://graphicleftovers.com/graphic/door-handle-keys/ ( could not get the picture only cos I'm in my phone right now)
But yeah, I rarely see these type of doorknobs, or handles or whatever they're called.

For a second I felt like ougi over there e.e

However on this picture we don't have any knob... There are handles on both sides and a (built-in?) key. Or did you mean the key is a knob?

The handle itself is the doorknob, just found out that its called a leverknob.
It is the same as a doorknob, just a differently shaped (and probably much easier to use.)

The key only unlocks it from the outside.

It should look like this: http://www.amazon.com/Legend-809118-Handle-Leverset-Lockset/dp/B007BDP2GG
(Not my amazon page nor am I trying to advertise)

Ignore the pic in my first post, the door they were describing had a lock that looked like this. The keyhole is in the same position as you'd see in a doorknob.

The subgroup should've translated it to "leverknob" (the term is rarely used) instead of "doorknob"

It has the same function but

You use the term "knob" to open a "doorknob";
And the term "handle" or "lever" to open a "leverknob"

Oh. I think it's unlikely for Owari~ to actually use that kind of door (even Oikura used the term "turn the knob") Thank you for your research sir!
Even though Oikura used the term "turn the knob"
