It feels weird considering that Zero Two was all about passing the torch to a new generation. Now it's being passed back. |

| Thought the flick was great. Glad to see maturity and growth from all the Adventure casts. Great too. I wonder what Alphamon could be planning, and what he's doing to the 02 kids and their partners. |

| The "Deus Ex Machina" evolutions were a complete non-issue for me. In the entirety of the Digimon franchise, it does indeed take emotional strength and growth to unlock an evolution. After that, however, there really is no problem with accessing a form without that same catalyst. For instance, in Diaboromon's Revenge, they evolved into Omegamon just as instantaneously. With regard to why they didn't use their more powerful forms while fighting the Kuwagamon, it's because evolution uses a ton of power and should be used only when the time truly calls for it (note that after turning into Omegamon, Agumon and Gabumon revert back into Koromo and Tsunomon respectively). They had zero problems beating back the Kuwagamon with their Adult/Champion level Digimon. Speaking of the movie itself, yes, it had issues. However, as I came in expecting the worst, I was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed it. The way they eased us back into the world was great and they handled the fights and interactions well. While I feel that Taichi's hesitation added an interesting dynamic to the character, the way they kept flashing back to images of the destroyed buildings was way too forced. |
| Imo, this was a very standard digimon movie. More slow, more mature and also more boring than the series. That's how they always are. The movies are some weird test ground for digimon concept and I expect the sequel to be the same. |
