That's why a studio can put out as many good works as they put out poor ones depending on who are the main staff. IIRC the director for Seraph is actually taking on the role of main director for the first time so maybe that's why. Anyway since the author is actually supervising I don't think he had strong objections to how this was adapted too. Maybe they just really had no choice with only 12 eps to work with. |

Plus, the manga hasn't finished, so if this is going with an AO ending, it might be that it doesn't need all the scenes that the manga needs. Tbh, I'm just worried that they might cut some Guren lines. Considering the direction the manga is taking, that would be a pretty terrible idea. <.< The next ep looks promising tho. |

| Yu and Kimizuki gained some nifty special abilities. Kiseki-o's special was creepy as hell, though... Krul's fir of rage was as amusing as it was impressive. |
| This episode spent its time focusing primarily on Yuichiro and Shiho as they work on trying to control the demons in their Cursed Gear. Yuichiro was able to control his rather easily, but the usually calm Shiho is the one who was almost possessed. But during the battle of wills going on between him and his demon, we got to see a little more backstory for Shiho. There was also a scene that showed Krul Tepes and Ferid interacting with one another. Their exchanges are actually rather amusing, since they don't seem to like each other too much. Mika was caught in the middle of it, and there wasn't anything he could do. In some respects, this was primarily an exposition episode, but there was just enough happening when Yuichiro and Shiho were trying to control their demons that it kept the exposition from bogging down the story. |

| Wow...that was bad. They butchered the fuck out of this episode. You know it's bad when the manga readers are telling non-manga readers to read it...they ACTUALLY DO, and then they totally agree. You know it's really bad when the same thing happened in Tokyo Ghoul and the anime only kids told the manga readers to fuck off rather than actually listen to them. They totally fucked up the demon possession things. - they didn't explain what the training was actually supposed to do...like at all. It just happened. - Yuu's was done terribly. They fit like an entire chapters worth of material into 1 minute. - Kimi's was more accurate, but also a bit cut down. Had they not tried to fit the Progenitor Counsel into this episode they could've done it better. Because the Council meeting was equally important too. Didn't really seem all that important here, but in the manga, this was basically the setup for this entire arc that they're "adapting". Krul getting bitched at by the council, and the whole Seraph thing makes her realize that they really need to get rid of the Demon Army. At the same time the Army is strategizing how to attack in Nagoya. So the fact that they didn't really do both sides of those in the same episode made it feel out of place. They should've kept half of this episode Yuu possession, and half Kimi. Following episode should have been Council meeting, Army planning, and Krul's scene with Mika. Probably the most important thing they fucked up, and I mean fucked up real bad is Shinoa talking about Kimi and Yuu's new powers. - In this episode, she says "oh, they have powers that they wouldn't be able to use normally". This...is entirely wrong. And I'll explain for the anime only watchers. The truth behind Yuu and Kimi's powers is that they shouldn't have them at all. In the first cour, they explained that there are two types of cursed gear: possession weapons, and manifestation weapons. - Possession weapons possess the user giving their body a strength boost to increase their physical abilities (Guren when possessed is super strong and overflowing with energy). - Manifestation weapons allow the weapon holder to summon their contracted demon which can use abilities (Shinoa. when she summons her demon, she doesn't gain any physical strength. But her demon can attack and use magic spells). This was a big deal because possession users aren't supposed to be able to use any abilities at all. That was the distinction between the two weapon types. They also made Shinoa act pretty calm in the anime. Like "oh, they're using moves that they couldn't before". In the manga she was legitimately surprised because it's something that shouldn't happen. Which leads to her suspicions about what was being done to them in experiments. They also cut out other tidbits like Shinoa and Mitsu teasing Yuu and Kimi about homo love fantasies, and Shinoa's serious talk with Guren. I really hope that they just had a director who was in charge of this single episode and it's just a fluke. Because if the rest of the arc get's chopped up and butchered like this I'll be extremely disappointed. Oh, new OP/ED fucking suck. And this is coming from a fripside and Nagi fan. Like what in the fuck, who's idea was it to use those terrible terrible songs? |

That's really the only conclusion I can think of. This is the same studio that added pointless anime original scenes in the first cour, and now they're removing good material in the second cour. |

| I have yet to read the manga only because I heard the 2nd season was coming out this fall, but I can't help but feel they are rushing his demon confrontation. literately took 5-10 min this episode, if that. although the first 2 episodes of the 2nd season aren't as captivating as the first 2 episodes of the first season, I really have high hopes for the next 10 episodes, hopefully Yu meets with mika again (a battle between the two of them later on would be amazing and bittersweet). any episode with krul appearance is pleasing to me :) Also really looking forward to more shinoa x Yu romance ! tied between her and krul for best grilllllll |

| eh, know i'm going to regret it for picking this up... but want to see how they'll animate this since it should catch up with the manga the animation is still weird with characters frozen when they're not the focus, the opening is better on the animation side compared to season1 (that face to face again ugh). but the music.. seems taken from a magical girl show.. season1 ending was really good, this one.. not so much (felt random, what is that fire thing?) overall both OP and ED songs were pretty bad storywise, they're still moving parts around... they skipped all the indroduction to the unbinding? that was not a smart move seeing ferid being a treacherous manipulator was a good reason for start watching this :D kiseki-o reaction when he got slashed was so bad lol xD (but kimi's backstory got adapted pretty well) next time, kureto is ready |

| Well, liked this episode. Kind of expected more of the OP/ED due to how good they were 1st season, but I'm still okay with them. Liking the plot so far, but will probably read manga cause I feel like I'm missing out! |

| Yu befriending that sword demon was rather anticlimactic. It's like a recycled scene from many Anime that dabble with lonely demons, devils and accursed spirits. Kimizuki looks like a pink-haired version of Tsukishima Kei. |

| I haven't read the manga so idk where this is really going but: i see comments on this plot being rushed but i feel like this is the opposite. i mean its been 14 episodes and they just now learned how to use their demonized weapons. we STILL have no idea what caused the initial plague and the horsemen infestation nor did they ever really explain them?? They're just occasionally around to be big monsters that are easily taken down. I don't even know what the plot is cause it hasn't moved for me at all. |

This isn't explained in the manga yet. It's in the LN, but since the anime is adapting the manga, don't expect the answer yet. They're just occasionally around to be big monsters that are easily taken down. They have a legitimate purpose. And they only hunt humans. I don't even know what the plot is cause it hasn't moved for me at all. That's because the first part of every anime or manga is generally slow. I'm sure you know how long it took S;G and even FZ. |

| Not enough Shinoa is this episode. I cannot appreciate this episode because of it. I hope the next episode contains more Shinoa. Because Shinoa is best girl. Too bad they cut the scene with Shinoa this episode according to one of the first comments. Banzai for one Shinoa in every sentence. |
