A scan of the upcoming issue of seinen magazine Ultra Jump, to be released on October 19, has revealed that the American web series RWBY will be getting a manga adaptation by Shirow Miwa, the creator of Dogs: Bullets & Carnage.

The manga series will launch on November 19 as part of the 20th anniversary project of the magazine. An artist's illustration file will come together with the series' debut.

RWBY is an anime-styled web series created by American animator Monty Oum. It was licensed for release in Japan and received a Japanese dubbed version. The episodes will be shown in six Japanese theaters from November 14.

Oum died on February 1 at the age of 33 due to an allergic reaction during a medical operation.

With that dubbing cast set, I better prepare my body for the anime version.

That's one step away from a full-on anime adaptation.

Which would've made Monty Oum proud.

Eager to see what the Japanese seiyuu cast will be for RWBY, they might outshine the originals.

I don't think it'd take much to do that.

Hopefully it'll be less dumb if its ever animated.

I don't watch as much anime as before...

Cause the original source isn't an anime. It's an American web series that is now getting a Japanese manga adaptation.

If RWBY is getting a manga adaption, shouldn't the series RWBY be considered an ONA then? Even if it was a web series done by an American company not everyone will be aware of the web series when and if people start reading the RWBY manga.

Anime, animation - meh what's the difference? It's not like as this work is the only one that has this debate. As long as the art style is similar to those of Japanese works then it's one in my books in terms of my own definitions.

But I'm definitely interested in reading the manga. I wonder how the mangaka will draw out the action scenes, especially the weapons & their transformations.

So works that have art styles that differ vastly from the norm don't count as anime in your book?

I'm undecided on whether I'll read the manga. On one hand, the art should be better and I'd like to see what it will look like. But on the other hand, if the story is going to be the same I'm not really interested as I thought it could have been better than it was.

If something as shallow and uninteresting as RWBY gets a manga adaptation, that means that my novel will also receive a manga adaptation and then - an Anime. This is certain to happen, for my story is magnificent!

P.S.: I hope RWBY never gets an Anime adaptation.

Outside of a few scenes, I haven't had the time to sit down and watch the web series. Maybe now I'll find the motivation to do so.

I recently started watching RWBY and to be honest, I'm not a fan of the animation. Mostly because I'm not a fan of 3D animation in general. The story so far hasn't been anything special, but it's not un-enjoyable. My favorite part of the show is probably the character design, so a manga adaption would probably be the best for me, personally.

I remember only the videos my sis forced me to watch, and all of em were simply choreographed action scenes. Someone tell me if is there even a interesting progression to this?
