THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Episode 16 is out! Lol, so far no one has even replied to episode 15 yet >.<

Anyways, let me say this: this episode started off just like any other. This man who likes this little girl (lolicon), he realizes one of his colleagues is a REAL lolicon, so to save the girl, he must send his colleague to hell. Yuzuki stepped in and tried to stop him, but Enma Ai blocks her path.

The next few days, the man meets this woman at the workforce. They seem to be in love, man reveals that he sent his colleague to hell. That night, woman reveals she is actually in love with the man that was sent to hell, and is pissed that the guilty one is in front of her. She pulls the straw doll...

Pretty normal sounding... except...

But we'll have to wait for another episode to find out. For next time, it seems like we'll learn more about Yamawaro's past, the boy who randomly joined Enma Ai's gang at the beginning of the season. I'm looking forward to it ^^

Thanks, person who gave me this on another site a long time ago, lol.

this has to be one of the best episodes since a long long time.. i liked epi 15, but this one really hit the spot.

the director clearly skipped the 'encounter ai and take the straw puppet' scene and the 'bye bye we're taking you to hell' scene to make full commitment to this episode's story.

this episode portrayed the background of today's society, especially japan's society perfectly. what with 6 year old gravure idols on sale and all that, this episode really made my day. it also portrayed the level of acceptance and prejudice of 'lolicon' in society today.

it was creative as well, that the story was shown to Yuzuki as the future. this is definitely new in jigoku shoujo. it looks like Ai wants to make Yuzuki give up. this sure is weird, coming from someone who gave up her life to save an innocent boy. I guess Ai has really lost all hope on mankind.

overall, this was a great episode, with deep, critical insights on society today.
and finally, after 16 episodes, we're going to know who that "mountain straw" guy is.. so as planned, the real story/plot will start from episode 20 or so.. >.<

so she was testing her. to see just how much resolve she has. I think Enma just wanted someone to stop the cycle of hatred. haha gah that sound so cliche.

anyways, next week we get some background info on the boy....it looks like.

This episode was extremely predictable and the motives of the characters were not really original either. Average episode for me, and for those who think that Yuzuki will have to save the guy in the next episodes, you misunderstood, it was just a standalone episode where we saw the unchangeable future by the eyes of Enma Ai, nothing more (and that's even less interesting than a real episode). A bit redundant too.

In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.

I was hoping that she would do something to stop him, but it seems like you're right. I've seen episode 17 and the previews and it doesn't look like we are returning to this plot.

Comments made while watching:

-Someone may need to be put on the child sex offender list for some of those opening camera shots...I said "may".

-Is it just me or does Yuzuki look a bit cuter this episode, maybe they cut back on skittles for the sake of the art budget?

-Oh come on ill bet most of those guys are just checking their email...Yuzuki is so judgmental :D...I stand corrected.

-Two things I just noticed, 1. That little girl is really cute...in an "awww" sort of way. 2. The song they are playing isnt the opening theme, that means they must have gotten a higher budget...or they cut down on Spam too...

-Im fairly sure that this qualifies as harassment or at least an uncomfortable working environment. Granted Yuki is hot but still...

-I really just want to reach in there and hit him, the one guy that gorgeous young lady will talk to and he isnt interested.

-He he she made friends with Princess Kikuri.

-I really really hope this doesnt end with Yuki feeling threatened by the little girl.

-In light of what was just revealed my first comment isnt as funny.

-Is she proposing? She just met the guy 3 days ago!

-Oh I so freaking knew it! (He sees the picture)

-I take back everything good I said about Yuki...she is one sick lady!

-Ai: "I have seen this pattern many times...no one can stop it."
Yuzuki: "Someone has to stop it."

She really doesnt listen very well does she?

-Well this is new.

Post Episode Comments:

An interesting twist to the episode. Yeah this is a spoiler but I kinda figured that if you are reading the Discussion forum then you have already seen the episode. So Ai lets Yuzuki see what is going to happen to that Dewa guy, it would be interesting if the next episode follows up with Yuzuki trying to prevent Yuki from sending him to hell. Speaking of Yuki, something about her just didnt feel right from the beginning, and her being the pedo's girlfriend was on of the scenarios I considered but there were a few others so I am not going to claim that I called it.

All and all a nice episode and I do kinda hope that they follow up on this plot with the next episode. Also I think Ai is playing favorites, she never did this with Shibata, then again she also never inhabited Shibata's body so I guess this is her way of saying "thank you for letting me use your body" to Yuzuki.

Verdict:

Well I guess the only person that actually gets sent to hell in this episode is the pedo and yeah I have no problem with that.

Guilty.

Best ep so far in this season. If they can pull off the next episode well, then it'll have raised my hopes for this series.

Although when he saw the picture face down... It was kind of obvious what was going to happen next.

I really enjoyed this episode!! =D It was the twist that made the episode good. I really thought that they were just gonna finally show a longer aftermath of someone pulling the string. That they can be happy after still or something like that, but apparently not.

This show is so...hypocritical in way. For one thing, it seems like no matter what, the person pulls the string cause there's 'no other way', at least that's how the show portrays it. Then it comes right back at you with this episode and showing that revenge isn't good cause it never ends. I obviously agree with #2, but which one are they trying to make us believe???

Few things I discovered after watching this episode.

Those two factory guys were pedophile.
The story didn't actually happened, yet. It's about to happen. Enma Ai was just showing the future to her old host, which is Yuzuki.

It was a bit predictable since every episode has an irony in it. I knew the fact that the girl who recently joined in that factory has some grudge in that other pedophile. I just didn't know their relation. Was thinking about being siblings or old friends at first.

After watching this ep, a question came to my mind
how come Kikuri says that guy forgot her?
so after people send someone to hell, they suffer from memory loss of all that just happened?
how come he doesn't remember Kikuri?
Is Kikuri so minor that has to be forgotten?
How sad...
So sending people to hell has become a fashion?
I thought the woman was hiding a knife or something...
Like they always do in movies...stabbing people to death...

That was a bit of a wierd episode to be honest..
I don't really understand the main guy's fascination with playing with the little girl, but the guy who took the pictures was just disgusting.
What I don't get is how the woman knew that he felt like that about children, and yet she still stayed with him.. I find it a bit creepy really.

If you don't remember something, it never happened. If you aren't remembered, you never existed. <3

I enjoyed this ep actually LOL
Enjoyed the little girl's and princess Kikuri's cute-ness,
and the fact at the end of the story, it turns to become a sight of future!
they finally did some cutting of the repeating scenes!!

Im kinda bored seeing Ai repeatedly handling the strawman with same lines same as with the lines before sending the person to hell
High hopes on Yuzuki <3

Ai gives me a feeling that she has words that looks she's given up on human rotten behavior, BUT
she lets Yuzuki see the guy's future, so Yuzuki will stop the tragedy happen over and over again!

This episode was somehow more refreshing than the others. I guess it's because the story was a little more complicated. Can't wait to see if Yuzuki can stop the guy from being ferried away. That little girl would be the one crying after he's sent to hell.

This ep was OK even though the actual action happened in the end. Just a little before the ending I felt something. I thought "Wait, what if she's the bad guy's sister? She's acting kind of strange, asking about the disappearance." Well, few seconds later she turned out to be his' girlfriend.
What's interesting about this episode it will continue in the next episode in a way we haven't seen to now. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best, Yuzuki!

this episode made me sad because i have two little sisters that i love and will always protect but this goes to show that society wont change
the man was playing with a little girl who possibly had no friends to play with already people are gonna think he's weird i definitely would if i was there but this episode just showed its some things you cant do like playing with little girl yeah he had good intentions but that little girl ended up thinking hey i have one friend who is an almost 30 year old and he never hut me so she trusts the next guy who doesnt have good intentions if that first guy wasnt their to protect her she could have gotten raped or worse.. so yeah this episode is making keep a real close eye on who my sisters play with

I thought it was kinda predictable that woman was somehow related to that pedo guy, so I wasn't really surprised when I found out. But I didn't know it was all just a vision and it was yet to happen, so that was a nice twist.

really liked the episode i was thinking one of the guys would sent him to hell but didn't expect that woman was related to the men he sent to hell and on top of that all it was just a vision so it didn't happen yet so really good episode for me.

Took me awhile to realize the majority of this episode was just a vision of what may happen. Boy was I confused when it suddenly cut off when that guy was about to get sent to hell.

So that guy sent the pedo to hell because of his creepy behavior. Honestly can't blame the guy because he knew full well what he was getting himself into and he was willing to go to hell to protect his child friend.

As a result of the pedo going to hell, the pedo's girlfriend joined the company to investigate and the guy later leaks info about the pedo's disappearance.

Was not expecting the girl to be evil. Boy that caught me off guard for sure and this is coming from a guy who didn't bother to read the episode title XD

TIL girls like to fuck pedophiles

Awesome episode. For an individual story, this one was great. Probably my favorite episode this season.

5/5

This is so retarded on so many levels. Why did the woman went to Jigokou Shoujo to sent him to hell? He was going anyways, she could as well just kill him. The protagonist whose name I will never learn because she sucks, COULD actually stop that stuff from happening. She saw the future and still sucks.

If you get a turn on out of watching rape pornos, that doesn't make you a rapist or into actual rape. If you enjoy killing and mutilating the corpses of realistic video game characters, that doesn't make you a murderer or a psychopath. Same applies to pedophiles. Perversions like having sexual feelings towards children do not warrant hell, as long as the pedophile doesn't act upon these perversions outside his fantasies.

It goes without saying, I can't stand pedophiles, but.. what if the pedophile in question never does any harm to a child in his life? Do I morally retain the right to be aggressive towards him? Even if it isn't something he can change? like I can't change the fact that I'm attracted towards attractive adult women? Taking suggestive pictures is clearly going too far, but I don't think it warrants hell.

Anyways.. Does Enma Ai possess the power to actually read the future?!.. not sure how to feel about that..

The way the ending is framed it looks like the future shown is unavoidable.

However, from a logical point of view MC girl still has at least a couple of days to track down a guy whose name and face she knows, who also lives in her city to warn him about that woman. Thses events take place during the late 2000's, there is no way she cannot find him through the internet/phone books.

So unless that woman hears about the Hell Girl rumors through other means and sends the guy to hell, the ending is in fact completely avoidable. Even if she fails saving him, she can at least tell the little girl that its not his fault for not coming to play anymore.
