THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS VOLUME.
----------------------------------------
We back to the main series but I still want to know about Koutarou Blue Knight journey. I guess I'll have to wait for vol 8.5 translation for that.

Hmm so we will have Maki again this time. I'm wondering if it will be another part Koutarou secret origin. Also I like Mahou Shoujo battle in this series. How spell chant is used what make me love it. Unlike other magic battle they calculate the output of magic used and speed also area of it's target.

Another great magical battle here. This volume also raise new question. Now Koutarou is also Vadra and he also look like have ties with ancient Folsarian. Other point on this volume is that Theia realization that she is alien mean her and Koutarou world are different.

Time to wait for remaining chapter to be translated.

I really wish that I waited for 8.5 translation before reading this. The interaction between Koutarou and Clan here makes it to mysterious for the event that happened 20 years and 10 years ago.

I like the combination of Maki x Koutarou as far as battle concerns since they make a great duo. Sadly, Maki progress is rather weak compare to the other girls(Clan included) as part of the harem.

They already become one and can tell each what each other thinking already. Compared to Clan which spent unspecified amount of time withBertorionKoutarou in the past I think Maki romantic development is quite fast already.

Too fast which makes it weak compare to others. They are way too perfect sync which makes me think that it is weak as per development.

Now Yurika is officially a magical girl, good for her.
It was a good volume, it kicked off with the events of 7.5.

It was nice to see more of Maki, and surprisingly, she's just like Koutarou. No wonder why they got so well and had their minds in synch (or was there something else that we don't know of?). If she gets more screen time she probably will be one of my favorites.

Theia and Sanae have been teased with plot for a time, Sanae has been getting those for a while, and she'll probably will have them a little more.

Since the autor published this one first, it's kind of a tease for what happened, though I dunno if he's going to tell what happened 10 and 20 years ago on 8.5.

I think it have something to do with synchronization that happen when Koutarou healing Maki. In that short amount of time Maki look at Koutarou past and vice versa. Just like with Clan they might also spent high amount of time looking at each other past.

Its more like of a feeling of wanting to know what happened in between of the actual timeline but yeah I understand that.

That part was unclear but it did justify that reason of yours.

Maybe it's imprinted into their consciousness about what they see. That's why they act and respond to each other like it's the most natural thing to do.

Yay lively conversation in LN thread that I make.

By following that logic, then the possible reason behind that matched understanding of them is the same personality. Volume 8 shows that Maki has a fair share of similarity with Kyoutarou and that includes way of fighting. This exact similarity is the reason why they got such perfect teamwork despite one specialize in magic for short range while another is on in-contact attacks.

^Yeah both of them have same personality. They are honest and straightforward. One doesn't like lie and one not good at lying. If they are not enemy at beginning I'm sure that they will be really become close friend.

Same opinion here.

Since this thread is about volume 8, shall we delve further about the LN?

Going back to the timeline, Clan mentioned 2000 years ago, 20 years ago and 10 years ago. It is already certain that 2000 years ago is the legend of Blue Knight so it most likely something related to Theia which is why Koutarou wanted it hidden. But what about 20 years and 10 years ago? If I were to make a guess, 10 years ago is a story that most likely related to Kirika as part of her past but what about 20 years ago? I can only think that its either a power struggle in Fortorthe or something related to Sanae.

belatkuro say that 10 years ago will be explored in volume 10. Though I'm also wondering what happen in 20 years ago. With this volume another possibility opened not just Forthore or Sanae. Maybe this also have something to do with Folsaria though the possibility is lowered because Koutarou still didn't believe an existence about mahou shoujo.

In volume 10? That explains the pacing at 7.5. Oh well, the possibility of something related to Folsaria is actually high. That cane of Yurika is not something that a mahou shoujo could not create for their own benefit and its something related to the generation ahead of Rainbow Nana.

Now I'm wondering what the content on volume 9 will be. I think this will be about Sanae again this time. Maybe about how she is dead?

Hard to guess considering each already have their fair share of past however it is really true that Sanae part was the least develop right now so its probably hers as you guess. Considering the set-up and how the author does things, I wont be surprise if it is one of those cases where the real body is at an hospital while the spirit is somewhere else.

It will be good for Sanae if it's just astral projection. That way she can have physical contact with Koutarou. Though if that's the case then Theia will be left as the sole "strange" existence like she contemplated this volume.

It actually connects to each other plot point if that happened but I rather not say it. I don't want the story appear as I predicted just because of connectivity of Theia suffering will bring the truth earlier than intended time, which could spell the end of the story sooner than expected.

Wow. Guess that what I guess is not the case. Good thing but I still think that Sanae is only an astral projection.

Uh, I didn't thought about when Koutarou used the sword and their minds getting connected. But will that last for a while or just this volume. Still, thinking about that, that was the first time in a while that we got some info about Koutarou's past.

As for the Sanae thing, it is a shame that she's a ghost, so I'll buy that Astral projection theory. But like I said, Sanae has been the one getting more teases than development, and I think we will be getting those a little more. She's the least developed but the one who's more connected to Koutarou (and supposedly dead), so it will be a big thing.

Though that makes me wonder if those ghost hunters will return, or something new. And, if she's an astral projection, why didn't her parents return home (which is a small one for 3 people), did they bought another one closer to the hospital?

We don't know how long that Sanae have been "dead". They might have been on accident together and Sanae is the one who woke faster than them.

I guess it is something anew. I can't see the spirit hunters trying to catch Sanae again when they are totally repelled before.

We're back to the current time. It wasn't as mindblowing as the previous volume but I enjoyed. I like how they strayed from the META and executed events at a steady pace, rather than rushing everything. Maki is the most adorable character in terms of design. She looks so cute! 4/5

Everything in Rokujouma is steadily paced. All the answer will be unpacked one at time without disrespecting any of character.

I meant the storyline per volume. Most of the earlier volumes put the final fight at the end and rushed some of it. The character development is definitely the strongest suite of this franchise.

It's because weight of character is start to showing now as the action part is increasingly become more personal.

Yup, and this change is really for the better IMO. Not just action, but any type of story progression is what I enjoy if evenly distributed alongside the character development.
