yeah... kinda agree KoRn and Chevelle aren't manly. You can't deny Rage, Tool, Headcharge or Zombie, though.
Rob Zombie with John 5 equals win.

I don't think Rage can be considered manly, they do bitch a lot, but in a more political away and not in an old grumpy man way. Man, we should try to define what is a manly bad because I think that people are just dropping names of bands they like. :|
Also, Motorhead:

Rage IS manly. Their message is from political stances of equity, which they demand through acts of defiance and insubordinance toward oppression of the upper gentry. "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me." If that statement alone does not profess manly, I don't know what does. NIN I suggested because of innate (and sometimes overt) carnal implications. Expresses the loathing state of being bound by mortalitl and the accompanying desires. "Manly" denotes that we act on impulse--which NIN (Especially older NIN) exemplifies. Headcharge is raw aggressive metal. Tool is a band that personifies the logical conveyance of libido.

I can go on. All of my suggestions for manly bands are irrefutable... not simply dropping off names of bands I like (you won't see Audioslave or A Perfect Circle mentioned in this thread).

Oh, I've heard Rage. I don't really like them, though.

Now that's the problem, those bands are way to complex to be considered manly, man are aggressive and use force to solve there problems, so man music is music that gives you a huge rush of energy that will make you punch the person/animal next to you, it must talk about (see list on front page) + Vikings + how macho one can be + Metal love, here are some examples:
Manowar - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4qTi7cDtI4
Tankard - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bw5ZT4pbYpI
Motorhead - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnSaNfG9tV4
Judas Priest - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=380C_nVJotY
Korpiklaani - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7kJRGPgvRQ
Obituary - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWd98VkFPXM
Amon Amarth - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPRt6Tt6RyM

See mindless stuff, fighting hymns, nothing to complex, only stuff that makes your blood flow. But if you want something that means anything and is still manly how about:
Gothic Slam - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2jeQ9F8RoI

Social exclusion and persecution, there and it can still be considered manly, because they still manage to keep it somewhat lowbrow.

Not that I don't like music for the brain, don't get me wrong, but I would never engage in a bar fight while listening to NIN for example, which by the way are dangerously close to what I would call "Emo".

Perhaps I have a different perspective on what the definiton of "maly" is. In my younger days, it was all about aggression, explosions, street racing, belligerent alcohol stints, and strip clubs. Now I view the role as having a different denotation. While all the aforementioned characteristics still apply, being a man must include some manifestation of rational thought.

I am getting dangerously close to the age where "responsible" is a defining characteristic of a man.

Manowar

This becomes the manliest music video in the universe at about the 3:21 point.

Hah, I just heard about that band after I saw this video. Odd how I randomly came across that while having my last.fm player tuned into "Classical".

God, I just heard the manliest girl band ever and I can't figure out what their name is!! But anyway, they're an older punk band and every member is a chick, and they still rock. I'll get back to you on the name if I ever find it, they're on one of the Warped Tour disks, that's all I know.

And I have to say that although Chevelle may not be manly all the time, everyone has to give them props for The Red, I don't care who you are. Also, another band who isn't awesomely manly but have some very kickass lyrics: 3oh!3.

Don't believe me? Here's a shining example:

'Tell your boyfriend, if he says he's got beef, that I'm a vegetarian and I ain't fucking scared of him.'
'Touched more kids than Michael Jackson's hands, I'm mor killer than Thriller, stiffer than a zombie.'

And of course, the Lonely Island, any song about Chex Mix is fucking like a boss.

L7 is pretty good for a chick band but no this wasn't them. Tsunami Bomb is another chick punk band that I like but once again, not the ones I'm talking about. When I do figure it out, I'll tell you though. The song is called 'I'd Never Hit You' or something like that. It's on a Warped Tour album though so I'm searching but since I have almost all of them, it's taking a while.

I will have to agree with Rammstein, though I don't really care for anything that's before their Mutter album... especially "Du Hast" as they have much better songs than that. =p I'm not sure if other people would classify them as being "manly" but some other bands I'd like to mention are Knorkator, Ulver, and Oomph! (yes, with the exclamation point at the end). I highly recommend checking out the latter if you're a fellow Rammstein fan, as they influenced the band. Oomph!'s album "Wahrheit oder Pflicht" is probably my favorite if you need a good starting point. :3

As far as seeing live bands and concerts go, I've only been to one being Slipknot's Subliminal Verses World Tour 2005 if memory serves me right. I stopped listening to their music after high school but hey, a friend had free tickets so why not. lol Opening acts included All That Remains, Shadows Fall, and Lamb of God, with my favorite being All That Remains' set. Being in the pit for the first time, nearly getting caught up in idiots doing that circle pit shit, and second hand "smoking" was definitely interesting (fyi I don't smoke, whether it's cigs or whatever. just not my thing).
