**MANGASPOILERS**Does anyone think this is way to long of a story for 12 episodes?

As of the latest manga chapter, chapter 86, our two lovely heroes have finally professed their love for eachother. As the title says, I think this anime is way to short for it to get into the better parts.

Adaptions like Yamada-kun and the 7 Witches or Prison School cram about 80 chapters in their respective adaptions.
I don't read the manga for this so I don't know about the anime pace but it's been done before so it's entirely possible that they plan to end it with the confession.

Please not another +90 chapters cram into a mere 12 episodes series.

I was really looking forward for not less than 24-26 episodes for this. C’mon….. less than that is just not ideal if planning on adapting that much material.

I like this manga and series so far, so I’m hoping that’s not the case here. I hope that these 12 episodes are just for season 1, and that the studio is actually planning on doing a season 2 after this one is over.

One can only hope, right?

I hope they don't try to cram 86 chapters into 12 episodes.

I would like to see at least 2 - 3 seasons before the confession and there is enough material for at least 1 more season after the confession.

I do have to say I am impressed with the manga. They devoted an entire chapter to the two confessing and discussing their true feelings with each other.

That's the trouble when a major part of the mission is to promote the manga. The producers will calculate the risk accordingly (generally 12 episodes approved), so if the lead up to the good parts or to the first appropriate stopping point happens to be lengthy, there's pressure to pace the material fast in order to get there.

It would be a different story if they adapted manga for the sake of the anime alone. What makes for the best show becomes top priority. However, the funding model doesn't work that way.

i knew it, i thought it was strange to not see rin in op or end song,
is this some kind of trending right now to butcher shows?
it was happening with TG, Yamada kun n 7 witches and now this,
before there was trending to adapt old materials such as HxH, parasyte and Jojo; now this trend to butcher shows, i wonder what's the next trend?
i hate it when i was right

It isn't a new trend. In the past, producers would simply add an anime original arc halfway through to either inject exciting story developments or bring the whole series to a close. Sometimes they even rewrote the whole story outright keeping only the characters and basic concept.

There's now more of an attempt to remain faithful to the manga content with rushed development being one of the potential weaknesses.

Bad adaptions are literally nothing new they've happened forever, 90s ovas like arslan senki's original ova crammed several NOVELS into 6 episodes.

trying to fit tons of content into 13 episodes is extremely common and has been for decades, it sucks but it's nothing new and most anime are made to advertize the manga so the studios don't care at all.

Even if they did care, they have a job to do, which is to abide by the wishes of the investors.

The biggest fan could be placed in charge of the script, and he'd have to make difficult decisions about what to cut or rewrite. Ultimately, it's about making the best show under whatever restrictions are present (whether it's time, money, short series length, publisher mission, etc.).

Could go any way. Cram into 12 episodes, anime-original ending, or get another cour (although I doubt it).
Most of the time manga adaptations get created for the sole purpose of promoting the manga in the first place and getting some quick money from fresh airing series. Like some people said, it has been done before, it's nothing to be surprised about.

but the pace are fucking slow? they only adapt around 6 chapter manga (rondomly, and one of them are 32 page chapter). even from manga, it pace was already very slow. as i said in another thread

in the first place, i think the anime will fix how slow paced manga in the first, but they don't do it! it make me wonder how many episode will they made. i am searching for it, but still don't get any information.
after seing 3 episode, it look like they will introduce the heroine in sequence, then animated the rest later. i hope they make ~35-40 episode. it will be awesome.

Yea, I know that. I was just still hoping this wasn’t going to be the case for this series in particular. But hey! It is what it is. Hopefully the anime will do its job and boost manga sales to some extent.

At this point, it’s better not to think too much about it and just enjoy it. The adaptation, even though it isn’t loyal to its the manga counterpart (something that I don’t usually expect anime series to do), it’s still good enough for me so far.

Anyway, I’ll just keep reading the manga like always, and watch the anime for the voice acting and animation. Hearing Youko’s Kansai accent is way better than reading about it, that’s a given.

I at least wanna see up to the most recent chapters but that will most likely will no be happening because of how slow this series is going. I believe episode 3 should have introduced the pervert, to build a better relationship between eromine-kun and shiragami and to have a little progression in the series. I believe that the anime can bring it up to the most recent chapters because the manga has a lot of filler chapters that don't go with the main romance story, so they can be skipped. Yamada kun and the seven witches had mostly all important chapters in the manga, so they had to pack and rush all first 90 chapters. For jitsu WA, I think its like 70 chapters of story.

Yeah I'm really sad now.
The manga has enough content for even around 26 or more episodes, yet they're only making it 12 episodes. I understand that this sort of thing happens all the time because trust me, I've experienced it plenty of times. But, it still hurts when your favorite romantic comedy series is done in like this. At least, it's anime adaption.
Who knows, it may end around halfway through the manga and then they'll adapt a season 2! Right? Haha... oh...
Well, either way I still love seeing some of my favorite character animated. It's fun.

I'm 50/50, they don't mention Rin who has a big plot on story, Nagisa's brother, and in ep. 6, Nagisa had already known the identity of shiho which in manga she still don't know that Shiho is a werewolf yet I have a feeling that they will end it in Youko's hometown arc and at the end of the episode they will introduce Rin and her dragon.

The point is to promote the series and not to tell the whole story.
