Well that sure took a turn in a hurry, not necessarily a bad thing... I'm just quite confused now.

A weird episode indeed. This show just doesn't seem to make any sense. It's all random. I hope the next episode gives us some answers...

So he's in the future now? This is pretty confusing, I hope they're going to explain what happened to that woman.
I liked the post apocalyptic background and stuff.

This is probably the only vampire anime I am actually really liking

All of you, just zip it already about it being confusing... if it remains like that till end, then you can complain, but not at episode 3!

I did not see that coming. How did Kuro know how to operate the gun, though? Was it just in his blood rage vampire state he somehow did it intuitively?

This kinda reminds me of Gungrave.

This kinda reminds me of Highlander.
I like Hentai, you like real life.
Instead of complaining about my tastes, be grateful you now don't have to compete against me.

I LOVE this anime! But wow, I honestly had to catch my own sanity when that woman and baby died :( That was just awful!
You know, the whole sadistic terror of these battles reminds me of "Dead Space" the video game, its just so...merciless, but still so awesome! Kurou is cool too!
If Kurou does not find Kuromitsu I am going to raid JAPAN!!! He has to find her!

There is one thing I have to complain about though. What the hell is wrong with the legs of the characters? I noticed it in the first couple episodes, but when I saw this guy's legs I finally had to ask:

I noticed the leg thing for the first time in the scene you capped. It looks horrible, more like they have sticks than flesh and blood legs.

Every secondary character looks like Benkei and legs look horrible. Laziness?

The look of their limbs creeps me out. I've noticed the legs in the first episode. But it's not just the legs but arms as well. Without his clothes Kuro looks like he had a rather bad case of consumption or something similar. However, I highly doubt it's laziness on the animators' part. They know how to draw. I think it's just a stylistic decision, but a bad (or should I say unattractive) one.

Yeah... the leg design for this anime is really lacking. Its like they used the same proportions for both the shin and thigh.

Putting that aside, holy shit, what a time skip! Society has really changed, he must have slept for like a 100 years!

Oh wow that's some time skip. It's like what at least 700 years O___O (Kamakura period ended in the 1300s).

Hmmm the timeline is pretty messed up. Did he like hibernate or something? LOL

I don't get it. Maybe next episode will be explained.

Holy ...
Seems I was right in my deduction, love this kind of sci-fi.

Confused as to how Kurou knew how to use the gun, since he never used one before.

Also, the legs seems REALLY skinny, not sure what's going on.

This is one of the darkest anime I have seen as far as settings go. I still am in love with the animation of the character's eyes.....very nicely done. Meanwhile, just hanging on for the roller coaster ride that is the plot so far...no complaints.

So maybe Kurou wasn't taking a nap since he has no clue what the state of where he's at is. Although then again, Kuromitsu who was with before knew what was going on. Well however long he's been knocked out, it hasn't been too long, given that the last time he was conscious, the setting where he woke up looked the same.

So this Red Army is the same organization that has been alive since when Benkei attacked Kurou. Who the fuck are they though and what do they want. I mean wanting to gain immortality or hunting vampires is one thing, but killing innocent people randomly is a whole different deal. Wtf is wrong with them. And why would you just slash Kurou and then tell him that they'll meet again when Kurou heals. What does that even do. Kurou already killed all the other soldiers anyways. I guess the dude just wanted to have his presence known to Kurou??? I don't think this has necessarily been confusing, just a lot of mysteries and questions that need to be answered about the main antagonists. I think it's safe to say that Kurou's main motivation is to just continue living and being with Kuromitsu, although I could be wrong.

And oh yeah, wtf was that monster thing...that's most mysterious thing of all I think.

The first shot after the baby started crying made me jump.

This anime just got a whole lot cooler now that it's in the future.

This show is quite interesting, though, I don't quite get the story - I mean Kuro and Kurozuka seems to be searching for each other all the time and when they finally meet (after recuperating from wounds - obviously it takes them quite some time to heal) one of them gets hurt and it's all over again...

Summary: The episode started rather randomly, with some sort of armed forces (known as the Red Imperial Army) slaughtering the innocent whilst vampire hunting.

The focus quickly switched to Kuro, who was walking around aimlessly, lost in the new world he found himself in. Kuro then had his sword stolen by a pickpocket. Luckily for Kuro, a random investigator helped get him his sword back, and the random investigator then took Kuro to a bar. Kuro was told a story at the bar about an asteroid and nuclear war, the investigator explaining how the world had gotten itself destroyed. Kuro had a sort of flashback/vision during the story; a flashback where Kuromitsu talked to him and was then shot off the edge of a cliff by the armed forces that were shown at the start of the episode.

The armed forces continued slaughtering random people whilst seemingly looking for Kuro. The armed forces soon moved onto the bar where Kuro was hiding behind a wall in. Just when the armed forces were about to leave, Kuro killed them after he saw that they had the same markings on their armour that Benkei had on his hand when he chopped Kuro's head off. Then, after Kuro had finished killing the armed forces, Benkei the 7th arrived, looking like Brandon Heat, and owned Kuro. The episode ended with Kuro sucking the blood of one of the armed forces members he'd killed in order to heal his wounds.

Thoughts: EP3 turned out to be the least interesting of the 3 episodes so far. Compared to the near incomprehensible second episode, the third was straight as an arrow. In all fairness, I would've complained if EP3 had turned out to be the second difficult to follow episode in a row, but it was a little disappointing after the first two episodes.

Episode 1: While easy enough to follow, it was a little confusing since very few details were given about the setting, why monsters were chasing Kuro and why Kuro was so important during that period (the 1200's?).

Episode 2: Events jumped around far too much - one minute the story was in the 1800's (I think?), then back to the 1200's and then the story fast forwarded to a post-apocalyptic future. Adding to the confusion was Benkei, who seemed to have somehow turned into a random samurai in the 1800's after he'd cut off the head of Kuro earlier.

Episode 3: No real twists or turns and the setting was explained, so it was easy to follow. The only noteworthy scene in the episode was the 'flashback' of Kuromitsu getting shot off a cliff.

I hope Kuromitsu returns soon. Kuro is a plain character; he has nothing special about him - Mamoru (sp?) is wasted on him. It was Kuromitsu who carried the main character in the first few episodes, the mystery surrounding her and her hotness making up for the failings of the lead. Sadly, however, I can't see her returning until later since it seems like the baddies captured her at some point...

Almost a decade late but thank you.
