As he finishes the final touches on the summoning circle for the ritual, Kyouya inspects his handiwork. Amid the flickering of candles in the basement of a small abandoned house he had found on the outskirts of the city, he walks around the ritual area and nods to himself in approval. He has his shikigami pick up the vessel required for the summoning and place it in the center. He found the whole process somehow very relaxing, as if it was merely some part of his daily routine, which he found odd because he had never performed a ritual of this magnitude before. Nevertheless, he knew he must act quickly before the blood of the sacrificial animals dried rendering his work up to this point null so he began chant with staff in his left hand and his right perpendicular to the ceiling in a prayer-like position.

With the power of the Grail,
I call thee from beyond the void.
I offer thee this vessel to take form,
Let my voice guide thee to my side.
Will you be the knight to champion my cause?
Will your spear be the one to pierce the heavens?
Will you thwart fate and fight?
Come forth from the void!
I command thee to show thyself:
Lancer!

At the final word of the chant, Kyouya slams his staff's bottom tip onto the ground for emphasis and the room erupts with magical energy so intense that the flames on the candles are snuffed out and he instinctively shields himself as if there were a real explosion. Allowing his eyes to adjust to the new darkness, he notices a figure taking form in the center of the circle. The summoning was a success but he knew it was too early to let his guard down lest this powerful being take advantage of him. To get a better look, he sends some of his shikigami to pick up the candles that had fallen and relight them.

As the Shikigami float about the room, replacing and relighting the fallen candles that had been snuffed out by the sudden burst of mana, light slowing begins to return to the small basement. In the center stands Lancer, his form now revealed by the flickering flames. Though a helmet conceals his features, his chestnut brown hair is wavy and ruffled with a single streak of blonde running through it. Bronzed armor lightly covers his torso and sides, and he wears a white kilt along with a pair of sandals. Gauntlets protect his wrists and forearms, but otherwise his is unarmored, exposing muscular, toned skin. A crimson red cape flows behind him, attached to his shoulder by a single white lily.

He stands with the confidence of a warrior whose poise and control are at the peak of human potential. "I am Servant Lancer" he speaks, focusing his attention of the man before him.

"Art thou my Master?"

Stop. Calm yourself. You're an idiot.

As the dark basement became more illuminated, Kyouya was able to get a better look at his Servant. The man was clad in bronze with the look of a Ancient Greek warrior and certainly looked the part of one of the mighty Knight classes, though he was slightly less... larger-than-life than Kyouya would have first envisioned; though that was of little matter.

"Yes, it is I who has called you from the beyond, and the one you may call Master. My name is Kyouya Tanigawa, first in line to the Tanigawa clan of mages," Kyouya said with a slight bow of respect.

"Now that I have given my name, may I ask of yours, O' Knight?" he asked and then paused slightly before adding: "Do not worry, my magicks have ensured that we remain in secret so you are free to speak freely."

Lancer gives a little nod as his master introduces himself, though otherwise his expression doesn't change. His Master was taller than himself, which didn't bother him much, with the black hair common among the Asian. The staff he held hummed with prana, and the flow between him and Lancer was strong. Kyouya... Lancer thinks to himself, grasping the strange pronunciation in his mind. It seems he will be a reliable Master.

When Kyouya asked for Lancer's own name, he didn't hesitate. He removes his helmet, holding it under his arm and places own clasped hand over his chest.

"I am Hector, first Prince and Heir to Troy. I hereby pledge my spear to your service"

Stop. Calm yourself. You're an idiot.

"Very good Hector, first Prince and Heir to Troy, your spear will certainly be put to good use in the coming war," Kyouya said with a nod. Hector of Troy... From what I have read he will be a reliable and loyal Servant. The outlook of this war seems to be somewhat in my favor, though one never truly knows the future.

"Now that I know your identity, I can start developing a proper strategy. While I may be able to hold my own in combat, my specialty does not lie in offense so I will rely on you to make up for what I lack. Also, for the duration of the war in order to keep your identity a secret from most, I will call you Lancer from here on out and you may call me Master. Or Kyouya, it matters not to me. For the time being, I will focus on gathering intelligence via my shikigami, my familiars, so you are free to do whatever you please so long as you are not gone from my side for long."
