If it were not animated by Kyoto Animation, would you still be watching this anime?

Yeah, doesn't really matter who animated it really.
Would it be as good? Eh, questionable, Kyoani was the right studio for this though.

No, in fact... the show has been rather lackluster for me so I'll probably drop it. I don't think I would've gotten this far if it had been done by a different studio.

I'm not sure why it's so popular and well received, to me it seems rather boring. I thought it was because of Kyoani but a lot of you are denying it. Sure, there's the fanservice, but how far will that take you?

Yes, I would.
In fact, I decided to watch it because it's written by Shoji Gatoh (the guy who wrote Full Metal Panic).

This, and I give most new things a try anyway.

As a child, I was told that society is a melting pot of talents; knowledge and experience combined to form important alloys that will contribute to mankind. When I got to highschool, however, I thought that it's more like a river in which the water represents our peers while we ourselves are the stones in the river. Constant erosion by mindless majority sheeping has made us lose our unique edge. After I hit the age of 18, I realized that I've been wrong all along. Society is no melting pot. Society is no river. Society is a person, a very skilled rapist, and he has fucked us all.

Well considering how KyoAni was the sole reason I was originally going to NOT watch this show...yes, I would still watch it had another studio done it.

It is 1st time I am watching a Kyoani anime.

So , can't say much except the reason I watching it is the premise reminded me of rollercoaster tycoon.

Of course, this show is a great watch. Story is interesting enough to support all the stuff that the characters get up to, and it makes for a very entertaining final product. Whether any other studio would have made it look/feel as nice as KyoAni is another thing.

Never cared about who produced a series, nor will I ever, it wasn't even till I watched the series that I actually knew it was from Kyoani. It's the synopsis that decides whether I'm interested or not in a series, and this one spoke enough to me to give it a chance, a decision I obviously don't regret.

Only idiots would specifically watch anime based off of which studios made them.

And yes, those idiots do exist.

I'm not usually that guy, but what a stupid thing to say.

There are studios that have a better reputation of making good anime and there are others that make complete crap. If a studio like Brains Base or AIC made this instead of Kyoto Ani, then I would have legit concerns. Why? Because smaller studios either don't have the budget or put in the effort.

Kyoto Ani has a reputation, so when they do a series, they go all out. There's nothing wrong with watching anime exclusively produced by certain studios because more times than not, they actually give a damn about their reputation. That doesn't mean that these studios always make great anime, but more times than not, they produce high quality material.

Then again, it's probably pointless to argue with you. Your comments have troll written all over them.

Normal people watch an anime because it looks interesting.

You know there are people who watch certain movies because of the director right? A show like this only attracts people because of the studio AND the original creator. For me it was just the original creator, since FMP was pretty good.. but this is not.

Admittedly, this is one of the better looking series i'm watching this season. However, I don't pay attention at all to which studio is animating which series, unless someone like you cares to bring it to my attention. I would watch this series regardless of who made it, going solely on the fact that the premise sounded interesting to me. Whether or not i would have enjoyed it as much is another matter, but i guess i'll never know. Unless i manage to travel to some parallel dimension where it was made by someone else.

Shoji Gatoh (賀東招二) wrote the light novel series for "Full Metal Panic!" in 1999
and wrote the light novel series for "Amagi Brilliant Park" in 2014. Apart from
that, his career has been very low key. Basically, he wrote a lot of scripts for
anime episodes, including "Haruhi" in 2006, "Lucky Star" in 2007 and "Hyouka"
in 2012. There is not too much more on his resumé.

For "Haruhi", he wrote the scripts for Episode 11 ("The Day of Sagittarius") as
well as "Endless Eight" in the second season.

For "Lucky Star", he wrote the scripts for episodes 5, 12 and 22.

He wrote the scripts for eight episodes of "Hyouka".

Besides that, there was "the Aegis of URUK" and "the Sword of URUK", neither
of which I have ever heard of.

I think that the "Amagi Brilliant Park" light novel series is pretty good. But you
have to realize that a novel consists of people talking rather than visual and
action stuff. So it is a huge challenge to translate a classic visual novel into a
classic TV anime series.

I am so curious to know where he got the inspiration for ABP. He must have had
some personal connection with somebody who worked for a run-down theme
park on the verge of going out of business. Probably every character in ABP is
closely modeled on some real-life person.

(right) The author of the "Amagi Brilliant Park" light novel series.

This is a nice question.. As much as I liked KyoAni's great animation and Isuzu's bewbs, even if it were by another studio, I would have watched it without any persuasion. But, when I heard KyoAni was animating this, I did get excited to watch this anime. Since I was not able to follow it on a weekly basis, if not for KyoAni, I would not have watched this anime in one sitting.

While I think it's important to go into an anime open-minded regardless of studio reputation or the staff behind it, it's not necessarily a bad thing to take those aspects into account either. While it may not be a guaranteed bet, you can be somewhat sure to expect something from a studio that has very a big reputation like KyoAni. This also goes for the studio itself. With a big rep they can be sure to have a certain threshold of fans who will watch their shows and more importantly buy them so they can make profit. The only problem is when someone takes the studio reputation too far and proclaims it will be the greatest thing ever or on par with one of the best anime the studio has produced. You can't say that for sure, but you can have some idea of what to expect that's not blown out of proportion.

TLDR: Checking what studio makes the anime isn't a bad idea, because it may give you an idea of what to expect; however it shouldn't be the end all be all factor since it's just a part of what makes the final product: the anime itself.

I probably would since the story is very interesting and new to me. About KyoAni, I gotta admit, the animation did not blew me away like their previous works, probably because I had too much expectation for it.
Recommend me an anime

I normally like KyoAni shows so yeah, that was part of why I checked it out. The premise sounded original too though....and it was certainly that.
