Hello,

Like you can see, I'm just new in MyAnimeList but I would like to talk about this manga I've watched until Chap.12-13
Even It's a fiction, I feel the need to stop keeping my viewpoint of this manga in me and sharing it....

So where do I begin...

First at all, I was very glad to find a manga with "werewolves" (or wolfmen or dogmen). They're one of my (perhaps THE) favorite supernatural-creatures.
After Spice & Wolf, Wolf Children Ame & Yuki, Dance in Vampire Bund, Wolf Rain, It's quite rare to see these mythical creatures being put forward like this......

So I begin with what I love in this manga.

The Inugamis(Werewolves): Good lord, I love those guys! I love their design, very feral, huge and badass.
It's what I think when I talk about "Werewolf".
And ones of them have the greatest designs I've seen like the one with mane made with leaves or the huge white-mane blue one on the cover who looks like a demon.
But my love are for "concious" ones. Those who know they're cursed and suffer.
I've huge empathy for them, the pain they feel, the hell they live....

The mystery: The thing I find impressive with Japanese legends is the mystery around it. I don't know how It works but, each time I see a manga/anime about Japanese myths, I can't help myself to think "It's something interesting behind the mist.".

Well, that's all. Now, let's talk about what I don't like.......
So, first, I would like to apologies to the fans because I think this manga is..............ugly.
It's like It has specially made to take all my sensibilities, putting on a table and suddenly, brutally dismembering its with a rusty meat-clever in a abandonned slaughterhouse.
I've never seen a manga who gives me so much digust, depression, and "What the hell I'm watching?" feelings...

Sakuya: I just don't like her...
With this "heroin", I realise how much I can't stand the "Cold Samurai Schoolgirl" archetype.
It's very hard to like a character who is an insensitive killing-machine...
Plus the only time I see her smile, is when she's in "Inugami mode" and looks like to enjoy the slaughtering she makes. I don't why the synopsis of this manga tells "She must fight her demons." because, more I see her, more she looks she doesn't give a crap, she's already nuts.

Sakuya "Comrade" with Spear/hallebard: Good freaking Jesus god......
It's true I hate some characters, but when I hate one, I just want to see it being beated and nothing more....
I don't know how she's called (honestly I've forgotten most names in this manga) but, for what she's done in the first chapter we see her, I wish she'll pay for what she has done.
She's so despicable, so cruel, so racist; so "b**ch", way more monstruous than any Inugamis I've seen in the manga that I want to see her being "punished" (or tell the reason why she's like this...and It must be a REALLY good reason....)

Bloody and Macabre Orgy: I'm ok with creppy things. After Berserk, Bastard, a few Gantz & Terraformars, I thought I could take it....until I've read this manga...
I don't know how but all those decapitations, those macabre scenes, make me sick..
Plus, there is a moment, I swear, I thought It was worse than the entire Berserk Eclipse Arc. It's when the skilled black Inugami come back to Inugamis lair.
I've imagined I'll see a gory scene like Inugamis eating humans with blood, bones and creepy stuffs.
And we see this Inugami having "sex" with 2 dismembered and drugged girls, and throwing a bloody arm of one of those girls to the black Inugami like a piece of meat.....
I don't think the word "gross" is enough to describe this scene....

We're a pack of powerfull and dangerous creatu.*slash* Aargh! We suck...: I've discovered there is a thing I absolute can't stand in this kind of manga. We've those huge and mighty dog-like creatures, those dangerous predators who are above us in food chain......being gangbangued by a single schoolgirl.....
It's hurt myself to see badass monsters, even in pack of 20-100 ones, who they're supposed to be one the greatest humanity threat being raped by a single young/teenage character....

The Humanity are come from....the Inugamis?: It's quite strange but the few times I've felt a character is "not totally bad" are mainly come from the Inugamis...
The skilled black Inugami when he saves this little girl from an "pug?" Inugami who has eaten her mother and being disgusted by his own kind, the Leaf-Mane one who overcome his bestial instinct and looks guilty anyway, the big blue one imprisoned in the rock who wanting to end this, the Sakuya-one trying to protect his "little brother" in his life-past, claiming vengeance for his death, and being "not hostile" with the wolf-girl.
I don't try to say Inugamis are better than their mortal ennemies, but I don't feel any humanity in those "Inugami huntresses" either. (exept the mother i guess...). They're lie living weapons, just being created to kill and nothing else...
Especially when Sakuya said "We're monsters, that's sucks..." in the end of Leaf-Mane Inugami chapter behind the girl tears and this psycho-bitch laugher.
I was really shocked and disgusted after that....

The light of hope drowning in blood sea: For what I remember in this manga, It's damn depressing. They're in this war since the medieval age, and nothing has changed. It even gets worse and worse! Each time I see a little spark of hope trying to get out of this rampage, It's always finished by a gruesome decapitation...
It's like watching a dog-fight over and over...

So, to finish this, I would like to continue to see more cool Inugamis looking and if there's a single hope to stop this madness, if Inugamis can be saved or find redemption, because strangly, I feel It's not totally hate between them and the huntresses....
But, for what I've read, I think It's credulous....
It's the ugliest and most depressing manga I've never seen in my life...

So, that is...

It's got Werewolves, Inugami - basically the japanese version. Good enough for me.

But yeah, I feel the same. I have zero amiable feelings for the Inugami clan. They are all single-minded racist bastards. Sure, most Inugami Possessions behave quite monstrously and it's little wonder why they are hunted, but the fact remains that they are entirely victims. It's not even presented as mercy killing. It's simple indiscriminate annihilation. There is no excuse for their behavior, especially towards those who can control themselves. The Inugami clan are worse overall.

It's a weird feeling. You can't really side with the protagonist or their comrades. Half the time I'm left thinking "Just get what you deserve already, you hypocritical bitches."

My favorite is the mother but she still falls prey to the same tragic bullshit. Honestly, the only way that theme won't leave a bad taste in my mouth is if Kaina gains control of himself and proves to be the instrumental one in setting things on a better path. I know he isn't the main protagonist but he's more of a hero than anyone else.

As for teenage girls kicking men/monster ass. Lol, japan and extreme feminism. I wish people understood that a strong female character doesn't need to be unrealistically physically powerful. Oh well, this manga still handles is a lot better than most japanimation, at least here they get their power entirely from the Inugami that is possessing them.

I don't talk about only female character, but mainly this horrible habit to transform any young character into a War-God-like who cut in two "Earth-Mother Wrath Incarnations" like they're made in paper.
But yeah, we have great female characters without being this unrealistic powerfull (Balsa from Moribito...just her is a great example).

But even if It's explain how the Inugami Clan have their power, I find the fact they can"raped" even an entire pack of "Possessed" ones alones is horribly dumb.
If being possessed by a Inugami give this power, the "Possessed" ones "should be this powerfull too and It must an entire unit/army to stop a pack, not just one or two girls..
...or perhaps I've forgotten some details like "Why only women can "control" hers Inugamis?"

But after watching chapter posts here, (because like I've said, I look if the plot changes but I don't want to go back in this manga), It looks like the Psycho-Bitch with her spear/hallebard is finally killed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QP8QHE7cFnA) but I've seen the fact she's this "bitch" is because she was bullied when she was young......
I don't know if I guess right (and correct if I'm wrong), but if It''s true, that explains more why I've no empathy for these protagonists.
In comparison with the innocent men possessed by savage dog spirits made by a inhuman ritual, they've nearly nothing to be likeable..
-Or It's a lame reason why they're this over-the-top monstrous.
-Or we don't know anything about hers, just they're come from the Inugami Clan and their purpose is making a genocide.

I mean, how can I find a single thing to like those girls if they act like SS Death's-Head Unit cliche?

Another good post.^

I definitely agree on how the Inugami Clan are portrayed. It's really hard to like them when the Inugami possessions have no choice in their transformation. The clan is too absolute in their views of genocide.

I personally don't care for their rationalizations either. Fact is, no matter what, their stance is flawed.

Edit: Hold Up. I explained why psycho bitch is so hateful but then I realized you meant an entirely different character. LOL so many psycho's I guess. They have different circumstances but the one that works for all of them is that is how they have been educated/the culture they come from. Overall it's bullshit.

Halberd girl had her little brother get possessed. Since he had to die then surely they all do. That's the kind of logic.

It was explained that only men suffer from the curse because 8 men, in return for authority took the burden of the curse to deflect it from taking hold of other individuals. Now it's drawn to their bloodlines. I don't believe they explained why only women become vessels other than it seems to be their own doing because the curse won't naturally possess them like the men now.

Also, I guess the reason they are strong is because the Inugami Possessions that they use are Great Inugami(Essentially the dog that triumphs and makes the other Inugami possessions submit. Sakuya's Shippe for example. He became the head after 74 other possessions inside her submitted) That is why the typical possession they run into is weak in comparison and I guess how they can even dispatch other ancient dogs. There are exceptions however... that aren't Ancient Dogs and yet are stronger than them/more skilled.

I'm just hoping Kaina gets free. They should just make him the main focus.

So this bitch (the one who has tricked the Leaf-mane werewolf by "I'm a girl afterall", right?), had a little brother who has been possessed and being taken down. Since that, she thinks all of them must die...............I just let again a linkto express myself...

I think so It must be a protagonist.....
.....And the Black Wolf Possessed too....
.....And the Leaf-Mane one too.....
.....And the past-life Sakuya Inugami Spirit too....

Is it me or the author of this "The lost Reinch against Werewolves" manga has confused "Protagonist" with "Antagonist"?
