What are the most hardcore and hostile fan bases in the anime community?

There are the Big 3 fan bases that are so popular that there fandom encompasses every corner of the community. However, what are the most hardcore fan bases and hostile fan bases that you've seen in the wider anime community?

Do they even have a fan base? I've never heard of a Touhou fan. It's forgettable fantasy yaoi anime that has been lost in the dustbin of history. NGNL fans are deserving of an honourable mention.

Toukou has a pretty big fan-base but havent come across one of them being hostile or territorial. One fan-base I loathe at the moment are LN/VN fan-base. Once their shit gets an adaptation it's open season for anyone who puts in 2cents of their opinion.

I haven't been deeply involved in any "fandom" for years but I know that anything that heavily involves fangirls and slash (pairings and all that jazz) is a vicious tiger pit. My younger friend also told me about going to a Fullmetal Alchemist forum a few years back and finding it insanely brutal.

Also they are only peripherally involved with the anime community but: Homestuck fans. Some anime cons have completely banned them due to bad behaviour.

Also what yaoi anime are you thinking of Aeonic? Touhou is a series of indie bullet hell shooters featuring a variety of girl mascots.

Hakkenden Touhou is a yaoi esque anime with a fantasy setting.
