From what it seems, Ichihime is stripped to barebones basics to what she is: plot device for Mitsuhide (and secondary, Nobunaga) drama. Her subplot with Caesar was simply removed, because it wasn't essential to the story. Her essential role in the story is to have Mitsuhide feel sad for her death and blame Nobunaga.
Himiko had lines, interacted, and formed relationships with most of the cast: felt jealousy, had flaws, etc. Ichihime did not. She existed like some kind of vapid idealized woman who was emotional crutch to men.
Huh? you were the one who said you feel 'insulted' that people actually like her, so you are the one who is taking it personally, Im telling you to not feel 'insulted' at other people's opinions, just respect it and state yours, if you dont agree, move on
Her subplot with Caesar was just a romance subplot, as in any other series, so what if its not 'essential' to the story? Ichi had a strong relationship with Nobu from the start, and she also had interactions with Himiko and Jeanne, Nobukatsu, her dad etc etc, If anything Himiko only had meaningful relationships with Nobunaga, Jeanne and Saru
Ichihime also felt alot of things and showed different emotions, you are just refusing to see it, e.g in ep 21 she showed anger, sadness, and plenty of other emotions
She is a sheltered princess, of course she is close to idealized, Himik was almost entiredly one-dimensional-> she was blindly devoted to nobunaga from the start to her death, I.E Nobunagas relationship with her did not develop at all, he didnt have feelings for her at the start, and he didnt have feelings for her at the end, in that way, there was almost no difference if Himiko died in ep 6 when she got shot or in ep 23, her only role was to serve as a human battery power source and pilot the ship
So does Himikos interactions with Jeanne make her a plot device to make Jeanne more honest with her feelings and to set her ending with Nobunaga?
While Ichihime, despite liking Mitsu at the start, ended up ignoring him to die with another man, I would call that character development
Based on your statement that Ichi and Caesar was speared being comedy gold, i can see that you have some form of bias against them, so whatever
But you know what was comedy gold for me? Ichihime ignoring Mitsu calling out her name and crawling past him towards caesar, i know that was supposed to be sad but i laughed my ass off there
And even if Ichi (and Caesars) character was meant to make Mitsu suffer to prop his character development, i dont particularly mind, that guys suffering expressions is pure win, and judging by the poll in the romance thread, i think quite a few others would agree with me that any character that makes Mitsu suffer is a good character
