More of another built up episode I guess. I still have a lot of confidence in Eiirchirou's abilities. I think Eiirchirou needs to focus on his ability to fight against forehand and speed. Anyways, his next opponent should be interesting.

What I get from the episode is that he will likely face quite the trouble soon. Sasaki's reactions were a bit priceless this episode imo.

Wow, I didn't expect Ei-chan to win again! :D
His chibi form was really adorable!

I wonder what he meant by drawing a picture....

Looks like Eiichirou is going to have a hard time in his next match. I assume even more so now that he can't read his opponent's eyes clearly because Iwase wears dark sunglasses.

This Mike fellow seems interesting, I see why Natsu feels uncomfortable around him.
His way of training looks very promising, though.
Eiichirou totally went all out in his follow up match, what a quick victory.
I guess it was bad that Kageyama and Sasaki arrived at the last moment.
Fukazawa is getting pretty upset over the fact that Eiichirou is getting better and better every game.
Looking forward to the next match against Iwasa. I wonder what his playstyle is like.

Good episode....the next game is my least favourite but it is still enjoyable.
Ei-chan and Natsu has great chemistry together as usual and lol at their reaction by Mike comment his mind focusing on romance.
See you all next week.

People talks about Ei-chan now!
Mike seemed really friendly, just a little weird though.
Ei-chan is that influenced just by thinking about Natsu ^^
Sharp memories and learning that tennis is also a mental battle.
Raising from nothing to something sounds really motivating!

Can't believe the sixth seed match ending so quickly and in such a margin. Just with a little momentum and Ei-chan can do that much already. That talent is unstoppable!
To the third seed!

It was really awesome seeing (well we didn't see anything though :P)
Maruo crush the 16th XD Nice :D

Mike's training method was quite interesting and unique ^^ Lol'd at how he teased MaruoxNatsu :3

Iwasa doesn't even care about Maruo lol...I feel like Maruo is gonna lose this one.

Eiichirou managed to win the fourth round rather easily, but it seems his next match, against the third seed, will be a really tough one.

Little bit of Natsu x Eichiro moment XD

They are so adorable together, shame the romance is really slow. Megane girl has no chance with Eichiro and she doesn't even know it.

Man, Eichiro demolished his opponents.. I love the coach's reaction! That demolition against the 16th seed! It's like watching Netherlands - Spain

Wow, Ei-chan won again!!! And Mike's psyche training is interesting. Good thing Ei-chan has a sharp mind which helped him. But I am kind of worried with his next opponent. He is kinda weird.

Basically this worries me so much for Ei-chan's next match

But idk man, I probably have a soft spot for Iwasa just bc he's a megane and the artistic type lol
Had a good chuckles on how Ei-chan's imagined the kiddy drawing about Iwasa and his "I see a picture of the match" (or sth like that) hahaha

Eiichirou is making lots of good progress. That mike guy seems like an interesting character, wonder if Eiichirou will contact him.
The next person he is facing seems interesting as well, I have a feeling that Eiichirou is going to find the match tough.

Fun episode. I might even use some of the tips to improve my tennis game as well. I wonder when Ei-chan broke his string, because you usually don't keep playing with the same racket, but it seems like he only has one. I'm glad they through that in there though.

I liked how they showed the difference in personal space tolerance between Mike and the two players, Mike is clearly more of a touchy feely type of guy and would like to be just about 30 cm closer than Ei-chan and Natsu are comfortable with.
Please don't feed the trolls!

Really good episode, loving how the anime's flowing really well :)
His relationship with Natsu is portrayed perfectly, they are so cute together.

I loved the coach and "anikis" face after the victory, i'm feeling like he got really strong. He must be able to enter battle mode all the time now.

Its following the manga so well.. Ei-Chan is portrayed perfectly also... i'm hopping this will get renewed for a season 2 :x

Great job Ei-chan! And I'm liking Iwase already.

I wonder how far Ei-chan will get in the tournament. Will he be able to beat the 3rd seed? I feel it's unlikely, but that Ei-chan will have a close game or give Iwase a good scare.

I would love to see a second season of this. I want to see Ei-chan become stronger still.

Baby Steps is good as usual. :3

Expect next opponent will be two to three episodes long. Wonder how they'll adapt it~

Oh! One thing I wanted to remark on is the Eichiro and Natsu angle. They actually, you know, spend a lot of time together talking through stuff. That's rare in both western and eastern depictions of romantic relationships.

Lol, he should have went all out from the start and the face he was making XD.

Hahaha, luck counts as talent.

So two days until his next game huh...

Mike's voice sounds like that of someone who's rather old lol.

LOL, this coach is really to funny, combat mode, facing-a-woman mode and romance mode XD.

Ei-chan vs Terashima!

LOL, he beat the crap out of Terashima and we didn't get to see anything T.T

So Ei-chan vs Iwasa is going to be next!

Im not sure who I like better for Ei-chan, Sasaki or Nat-chan. Nat-chan doesnt seem to be the typical tsun tsun I thought she was going to be so thats a plus. But Sasaki's my favourite type of girl.

I liked the image training this ep. I think I'd be good at that. Wish we got to see the match with the sixteenth seed tho.

That Mike reminded me of master Roshi and that grand Kai
He did gave some incredible good teachings in one day, teasing Natsu as a bonus

For Ei-chan to advance to the top eight right after was impressive, the match wasn't even presented with Sasaki and his friend arriving late

His next oponent seems to be a robot

does one day with mental training really make that huge of a difference? plus isn't it even more work now for the match if he has to focus on memories and such?

one thing i like about this anime is that the matches aren't too dragged out and only highlight the important moments, rather than dragging out one match into several episodes as shounen usually do. BUT i do wish we at least saw SOME of the match with the banana boy

I find it odd that we saw Maruo learn the crucial skill of visualization... but it didn't expand on it. And in fact we didn't even see a glimpse of how it helped him in the last match that it skipped past, all we heard was how it helped him. I wish we saw that a bit more before going into the Iwasa match.

"A competitor should never doubt his victory. He was responsible for his own luck", is a beautiful and helpful line. I also really appreciated Mike's line "Alike technique, one needs to train their mind through practice". I happen to hold a lot of this wisdom already, but the way Baby Steps expresses it is fantastic. I would show anyone in any competitive game this anime to help them improve, especially someone just starting out.

Mike made me feel uncomfortable this episode, I couldn't take his Japanese accent seriously whatsoever here. I've heard my fair share of anime foreigners speaking in Japanese but this was weird to hear lol.

Other than that, pretty slow but solid buildup episode. Maruo crushed the 16th seed, not shocking given how he did play really competitively against an opponent much better than the 16th seed and he even got training from Mike to help him get on a groove a lot easier. Iwasa's the next opponent for Maruo so hopefully Maruo can put on a show and try and progress even further past the quarterfinals but we'll have to see.

The Eiichiro-Natsu moments were nice as usual. Pretty cute whenever it happens from time to time. Sasaki freaking out too when meeting Maruo post-game was nice too with her tsundere antics.

6/2 over the 16th seed? Generally, there's a bit of letdown after a big upset, so for him to back it up like this is pretty good. I don't really buy it, but that's neither here, nor there tbh. I'm just along for the ride at this point.

I still find it weird that they're only playing a single set of tennis. Even first to nine games would be more believable. Best of three with a final set TB would have been the way to go IMO. Plus that's a massive draw as well lol
