THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Cool episode, it's good to have no killing real drama or anything, yet still related to the story. Pretty relaxed and laid back. Nice. |

I thought it was shitty. At that point in Lucy's life, it was a given that she had pretty much forsaken humanity, so she wouldn't have had another friend that she cared for like that. It was completely not her character. |

It doesn't seem to have any connection with the main story line...though it was a very funny yet sad episode. |
Don't talk to me about character development if Kaizuka Inaho or Slaine Troyard are in your favorites. |

The flashback sequence was good, rest was rather sucky. |

There was very little psychological value compared with Elfen Lied, but I suppose that actually distinguishes the OVA from the series. The OVA's setting seems quite random though. Good that it was short enough to be bearable. |

Good that it was short enough to be bearable. My thoughts exactly. The OVA was a bit out there, but I was glad that there wasn't any violent gorey killings in this one episode and instead of bit of comic relief was added in :) Other than that, the OVA wasn't brilliant, but it was relaxing and a breather from the very fast-paced series. |

The flashback saved the OVA from being totally shitty, it's story taken out of nowhere... And btw, the flashback's story is taken from the manga, yet in the manga it was waaaay more complex and interesting (the little girl who got shot murdered her family members before, that's way she had blood on her clothing, and the relation between she and Lucy was deeper). Actually, I would prefer it if the entire OVA was about that story, instead of some stupid house chores... And humorous stuff like this doesn't fit Elfen Lied's atmosphere at all. I'm really disappointed by this OVA. |

Too bad they made this into an OVA. They should had aired it with the original show. Anyway, they show more of Lucy's past, as well as how she was captured. Also, the reason why she let Kurama live is shown. I don't think it would be smart of Nana to talk about this "daddy" of hers in front of either "Nyu" or Lucy. ~Nyu! I swear that's the cutest pet phrase I have seen in my anime career so far! ~Nyuuu.... Good OVA. They should get on with it and finish the rest of the manga with a new season or two. It's been almost 5 years already! ¦3 |

This episode wasn't as bad as I expected. Though I wished it continued after ep 13 instead of episode 10.5. I'll give it a 7/10 because of the flashbacks.. |

I hated it except for when it showed Lucy with that girl. I LOVED that part in the manga. |

I liked the flashback story with Lucy and the girl. Too bad we didn't get the full story of the flashback like in the manga. :| |

I honestly had no idea there was on OVA until a couple of days ago (and I finished Elfen Lied around August). I thought it was very, now we all know how Lucy ended up being caught in the first place. |

It definitely wasn't the best of the series; nor the worst. I'm not sure if I liked or didn't like the light, slice-of-life style this OVA offers; but it didn't feel like it's parent story. Anyways, this episode was a whole lot more chibi then the rest of the series; the music was cheerier, in a good way and a bad way. I liked how it portrayed a fun day in their day-today life, and and it kind of emphasizes the tragedy on episode 13 when Lucy is assumed dead- it is a whole lot worse because they bonded so dearly together at home. One thing I loved so much was Nana and Nyu hugging as if they were twin sisters; that is so sweet. Also, my speakers were corresponding with the distance of conversations, noises, etc.. was that just me? It sounded interesting, and I didn't notice it during the parent story. I really liked more of a backstory for Lucy, our 'little magician'. Kind of sad, though. "I'll have you experience the same thing I did!" <---- This was sad. Especially with the saint version of Lilium playing, and Lucy crying through the restraints. Awww, new clothes for Nana :) Kouta: "I don't want you to keep wearing my pants anymore," XD I like the reference to when Nyu was washing Mayu (tickling her), yet now it's Nana :P Bandou is one wild bastard Wanta is one fat, twitching dog. Literally XD I liked this episode a lot :P |

Episode did not really fit in the mood of the rest of the show. But I am glad to finally get the whole back story and understand why she did not kill the director. |

I liked it. I thought it was nice to provide a little background on Nana and Lucy. This episode makes me appreciate both of their characters more, even though Lucy is already awesome. |

Loved this OVA! So nice to see our much loved characters again, this time in their day to day life in a much lighter setting but still with the beautiful music and art of the tv series. Really enjoyed it |

Well this answered my question about how Lucy got captured when she was little, but still don't know how she met that girl and etc. Cute episode though no killing (except for Lucy's friend) but no gore like killings. |

The ep started really slow... but was nice to see how lucy got catched (btw, hard to believe that lucy had a friend...). I loled with Bando at the end xD |

Barajas_201 said: I just finished watching the (10 year late) English dub release and OMG why couldn't they get the full original English voice cast?!!! why God why?! why Section 23 why?!!!! WHY?!!!! why couldn't they get Kira Vincent-Davis[Lucy/Nyu], Adam Conlon [Kouta], and Jason Douglas [Bando] to come back?!!!! WHY?!!! This is my favorite anime of ALL TIME and the English dub was PERFECT and its the only way I can see Elfen Lied, but the perfection was ruined! I am sad, raged and depressed because of this. The only redeeming quality is that they finally dubbed it and got Sasha Paysinger [Nana] but dammit WHY?! I can not die in peace now. I would go as far as to PAY MONEY for Section 23 to re-due the English dub for the OVA with EVERYONE from the original English cast and re-release the Blu-Ray collection and I would buy it in the instant it's available, but dammit this just makes me very sad :( yikes, I guess it's a good thing I didn't have the dual-audio version of this then. Davis and Douglas were the only things that made the Elfen Lied dub bearable. lol @ "the English dub was perfect" doe Anyway, interesting background for Lucy, albeit slightly difficult to believe. I'd also have to agree it seems quite unlikely that Lucy would make another friend after what happened. At the same time, it's not impossible, and it was still very sad. Probably would've been more sad if I had realized the "silver haired chick" was Lucy before it was almost too late. Aside from that, this was a pretty meh episode aside from a few brief moments of lulz. |
