Top 3 anime for 2013

Since all of the anime that have started airing in 2013 are now finally over, I thought it would be nice to have a top 3 short list for the year. The show must have aired in 2013 and cannot be a carry over series from the previous year; shinsekai yori as an example.

My top 3 for 2013 are my high school romantic comedy, Hajime no Ippo rising and Kill la Kill. My high school romantic comedy for not living up to it's name as being a generic romantic comedy, but instead offering nice dialogue, character chemistry and themes regarding an individuals role in a society. Hajime no Ippo Rising is a sequel to the previous work and continues the tradition of high octaned boxing battles. Kill La kill is homage to Gainexed earlier works such as FLCL and Tengen Togga Gurren Laggan and I liked the transformation sequences.

My top 3 for 2013 would be Hajime no Ippo Rising, Death Billiards, and Attack on Titan. Ippo continued to have very thrilling boxing matches just like in the previous seasons. Death Billiards is a short that demands your full attention because of how rich in detail it is. Attack on Titan had some absolutely stunning action sequences, and did a good job of capturing the hopelessness of the post-apocalytic world they live in. It's a shame that the writing was rather sloppily done though, and that the main characters were stereotypical, but overall I thought it was a good watch.

Kill la Kill and Non Non Biyori.
I don't really have a third pick, but these were two series I really enjoyed.
