The only info I could find seemed to suggest sales were under 2000 per volume. It really surprises me because I like Tokyo Ravens almost as much as STB, and think they are similar shows, but STB has more than double those sales.

Hopefully this will be a series that sales are not as important, otherwise season 2 chances are less than bleak.

Strike the Blood has more curves so there's more incentive to buy. You might want to look to the source material's sales, as often, that's where these adaptations really make their profit.

What CKan said.

Vol 11 of novels comes out this month, if gets a noticeable boost from the anime then there is a good chance of a 2nd season.

I liked STB but I think that this anime wasn't even close to it, it did have potencial but then it turend really bad later on. Most of what happened near an end dosen't even make any sense.
The real world is past the virtual world is future.

the problem with Tokyo Ravens is that, a. they picked a really weird area to finish it; and b. its a cliff hanger but with the certainty of a second season tenuous at best.

And what didn't make sense at the end? Harutora recovered his memories as Yakou, revived Natsume, and left to do what he reincarnated back into world for while being hunted down by Onmyo Agency for using forbidden magic. What's hard to understand here?

Strike the blood got more fanservices and harems (which is a popular trend nowadays, *COUGH* campione and dxd *COUGH* ) that's probably what makes it sell. Seriously, they need to end Love Hina style comedy harems on this era, way too old already.

My personal preference is that Tokyo Ravens is better, both story-wise and not all-over-the-place harems.

Downside is they fucking crammed whole NINE volumes so there are TONS of explaining got skipped. So far this is the first Light Novel adaptation that I've watched, that crammed this much into a 24 episode. A good comparison is Log Horizon, 25 episodes for 5 volumes which fits very well and didn't left any of the explainings compared to this one.

Both this show and strike the blood sucked.

The only reason they are relevant on MAL anymore is because people on mal like Vampires and kung fu.

Sigh, little girl Love Hina was not the first harem, it was not the first popular harem, it was not first anything. The biggest progenitors of harem were Takahashi's UY/Ranma and Tenchi Muyo. Love Hina came well after these two, and about the only thing it did was popularize the abusive Tsundere.

That said STB is nothing like love hina, LH is literally just a harem, while STB is action fantasy with heavy harem elements. Not only that, you guys do realize Tokyo Ravens is a harem as well. Haru has Natsume, Suzuka, Kyoko, Kon, and arguably it wouldn't take much for Takako to get added to the mix.

I don't really remember Ranma 1/2 since I was still grade schooler back then, but what I meant about Love Hine style comedy harems is how the main male lead got into "lucky" accidents where they accidentally touched the girl's body then get slapped while blushing etc etc.

And I never said anything about Tokyo Ravens isn't a harem, what I said was Tokyo Ravens don't really have all-over-the-place harem since it focused more on the fantasy part instead of the romance comedy part, with less fanservices. Compared to STB and Campione where they need to get horny to suck the blood/kiss to get knowledge, or Highschool DxD where it heavily focused on the harem side like what you said.
