I kinda liked it. It was cute that's for sure with the animals. Their fantasy world looked really nice though they need more technology.

Escha is adorable though imo. There doesn't seem to be much action. Still, I like what I see so far. Dat technology.

Cute is definitely a good word to describe this anime so far. The animation, the world they have, and the music are all very feel-good, slice-of-life like. I like it so far. This is a good, easygoing one to wind down with, and I think the adaption has good direction so far. I like their simple and innocent relationships with each other and the other townspeople. They were somehow able to create a straight-forward enough premise, introduction, and even a quick job for them in one episode. I liked the game and glad that watching the anime gives the two MC more interaction (since the game play is two stories; well, the recent one... there's multiple games, I've only played one of them.)

I have no idea why or how but I've became attached to the game and now I'm attached to the anime. It's like even though it's not the best thing I've seen, I still love it....This is a complicated feeling D: Anyways, good episode. The animation looks okay so far...sometimes it's a bit derpy though >.>

A nice light hearted series I might say. I've seen a few video walkthroughs and it really does have the same feeling. Ending song is relaxing.

First episode in and I found Escha and Logy to be a cute couple.

As for the subs. The group who picked this series is planning to release it on Monday.

meh, this anime's not for me. the slow pacing, too calm feeling, & seeing everyone's smiling faces put me to sleep faster than the bed time story told in the start of this show.

5/5 loved to see escha and logy animated. And I can't wait to see everyone else in the city and in R&D appearing. Katla <3
Also had to smile at Escha doing alchemy (and at her tail.... I WANNA FLUFFLE IT!)
I want Rambo in a mecha-suit with a laser-chainsaw gun that fires nuclear warheads, fighting the love-child of Predator, Alien, a group of Bangladeshi terrorists, and Satan. (Actually that would be a pretty sick show) - StopDropAndBowl

Needs a touch of romance between those 2 but other then that it was a nice start... very slow and relaxing I guess.

wouldn't hope for it, atelier games usually don't go farther than implied romance (else i'd like a sakura trick-esque version of TotorixMimi)

I'm not sure what to think of this episode. Playing the game they are extremely faithful but I was sorta hoping the pace would be faster since story wise the story doesn't pick up for quite a while. Well its a nice change of pace from the usual anime I watch and I'm quite happy to see the whole cast will be eventually animated so I guess that's a plus for me.

Really? all of the Atelier games I've played had definitive couple at the end. This includes the likes of Ar Tonelico & Mana Khemia series. IIRC the only one that wasn't very definitive was Atelier Iris 3.

Only started at Atelier Rorona. Got one of the others later (dunno which one. "Klein Kiesling" was the MC IIRC) but it kept freezing up, and I barely managed to not throw my joypad at the screen so I stopped playing.

So, the newer ones had not real romance in them, which is fine as well - gonna ship TotoriXMimi (and MeruruXKeina)

Having never played the games, this is completely new to me. So, I'll have to give it a couple more episodes to see what I really think. It's hard to judge any anime from the first episode alone. It's rather cute, and the world seems interesting, will just have to give the story a little time to develop. All in all, though, not a bad first episode.
Odds are I'm not going to find my way back to a thread after my first post, it happens on occasion but not often. So, if I say something that offends you and you feel the need to force your opinion on me because obviously everyone should have your opinion or none at all, feel free to post it in the thread that I'll probably never see again. However, if you are interested in intelligent discourse, feel free to message me.

Homunculus village just doesn't compare to Hom and Chim. Plus I loved the whole generation thing from arland. Rorona is Totori's master, Totori becomes Meruru's master, Rorona becomes a loli. The only thing I really want to see from EschaLogy is screentime for Linca and Marion and Willbell.

Agreed. However, this was also the first main quest in the game. Next up was exploring some ruins I think *scratches head*

Nice introductory episode.
really felt the first quest of a rpg

If there's anything I'm worried is the use of CGI seen in the OP.

The world seems really nice and pretty. Loving the backgrounds and just the overall setting. The MCs aren't too interesting yet, but I like how normal they seem (no quirks...yet?). The episode was very relaxing.

Escha's outfit is cute!
The fact that it was made from a game constantly makes me imagine what it would have been like in the game.
A slice of life component would be good.

I am liking the tone of this anime already, calm and relaxing.

Anyways, can't really tell anything about the show from this episode; however, since it is adapted from a game, there will most likely be too many things missing.

I haven`t played the games but watched the 1st episode.

looks like a generic fantasy setting anime to me, so many things i didn`t understand.

i already like Escha, she is really cute and she reminds me of Watashi from Humanity has Declined.
about that Logy guy, he looks like the Lawrence Kraft in teenage years.

Whenever Escha blushes at Logy, or vice-versa, I could just feel the jealous, fiery scorn of Gust fans around the world, since it seems that MC/FeMC romance is taboo in every Atelier game (not to mention I have yet to encounter any form of romance in the games).

Just look at Sterk. The poor guy aged 15 years in the span of Arland, but has yet to get a single girl. You'd think that at least ONE of the bloody fucking 9999 girls in the series would want someone serious and dependable like him.

Other than that, a surprisingly fulfilling first episode. I definitely like the adventurous, yet relaxing atmosphere.

I loved it if you've played the game or is playing the game you will like this anime. At first I was skeptical, at why they didn't start at Ayesha, but after seeing the light hearted romance building between Escha and Logy, it all made sense. Can't wait to see Wilbell next episode.

easily my favorite spring 2014 anime (judging only from episode 1 of everything of course)
the opening song was perfect

(the ending song was kinda weak imo)
and i love the setting, the art, the slow pacing, the characters, everything

Some of those scenery were stunning, and the OP was great. Not surprised this has started slow, since it is an adaption of the game, as RPG games tend to be very slow starting off. Not sure what the plot seems to be yet, but this is definitely my type of anime.
