| Well I figured this is one that'll be useful to people who want to watch more new anime. I'll list some off the top of my head now and add to it later. Gankutsuou: AMAZING. AMAZING. AMAZING. This is a freaking classic. It's probably one of the few GONZO works that are actually good with a stylish twist on the classic the "Count of Monte Cristo". It's all about revenge and every aspect of it shines. Yeah, must watch. Shion no Ou: My favorite of the moment. Think shougi (Japanese chess) with a murder mystery. But what really shines most is the characters of the story as well as the unique plot. Gunslinger Girl: I'm still watching this but it's good. About an Italian government that brainwashes girls to do their dirty work, it's less about girls grabbing guns to blow the brains out of people but really about the girls themselves, their humanity, and moral values in general. Claymore: Another series with girls working for a shady organization but this time the girls are older and they kick much more ass. More of dark shounen twist on things it's a great watch. Except for the anime ending. Saiunkoku Monogatari: Another top favorite of mine, this is a political story of a girl who dreams to be of a government official in a fantasy world closely resembling Ancient China. It is rather girly (lots of pink) but it's a really, really good watch. Busou Renkin: Anyone who says this series sucks or is not as good as Kenshin can proceed to have their brains blown out by me ><. No but seriously, this is a fun light watch with unique humor and is an enjoyable ride through and through. Baccano!: Just finished watching it today and it is wonderful. It's a complicated story set in the US during the 1930's with at least 10 main characters that's difficult to get at first. Classy and unique, it is one hell of a train ride. Literally. |
