I'm a big sports anime fan (especially soccer since I actually play it) and I want to watch more of the airing sports shows.

So, like the title says, would I need to watch the prequels (if so, from the very start?) to understand this without spoiling myself? I do plan on watching all of the Inazuma series FYI.

I'd say no, since it kinda gives a fresh start with mostly new characters and powers. But I think watching the previous installments can be interesting for understanding some of the backgrounds on characters that make a return (such as the coach for this show's eleven).

Thanks for the info! Another MAL user msg'd me a while ago and said I should watch it so I'll just put both on hold for now ^^
