So far I liked this anime, but at the moment I'm only watching this to see how it ends. And the bad Guy recruited the useless, stupid wimp/pussy brother. He spelled his own doom.

I have a feeling Kazuma is the guy who cast the Last Requiem in the original war.

Not gonna lie, this episode, aside from the below-average animation at small intervals, was quite excellent. It was well-paced, well-done, and it actually kept me interested. If the last 6 episodes of this series are as good as this or better, this series will be able to redeem the majority of its potential. For the first time in a while, I'm really looking forward to the next episode.

Alright. So I'm assuming that the people spewing all the hate for this anime are those who have followed the LN? Either that, or they have come into this series with the wrong expectations. Regardless, however, I disagree.

I haven't followed the LN, and from what I've heard here about the LN, I probably won't. But, as for this series, I find it to be one of the better anime of the season. Being 12 episodes, it is a bit rushed. Too rushed in some places, in fact.

The action could have been better if the fights were drawn out longer, maybe focus on only one per episode. Or, have the capture of Mui's brother be a background filler for the main battle of Momo-tan and her former Senpai. Instead we get two half-battles that end anti-climatically.

It's obvious that Gekkou is the new Trailer at the end, and that should have been no surprise to anyone who's been watching thus far. It shouldn't come as any surprise that he has magic, either, for those who are questioning how he "suddenly" has magic: Did you watch the first episode? Magic is rather easy to get, and judging by the rushed nature of the episodes so far, rather easy to train. There's also the suspicions that Takashi comes from a magic family from the War, which would mean that Gekkou does too! They ARE brothers.

The ending is shaping up to be predictable, Takashi and Gekkou patch up their differences. Hopefully Mui and Takashi get together, and as much as I HATE Kurumi I think her and Oigami would be a better couple than her and Mr. Emo(Gekkou).

Overall, I give this episode 6/10 for making it's rushed nature way too obvious.
Odds are I'm not going to find my way back to a thread after my first post, it happens on occasion but not often. So, if I say something that offends you and you feel the need to force your opinion on me because obviously everyone should have your opinion or none at all, feel free to post it in the thread that I'll probably never see again. However, if you are interested in intelligent discourse, feel free to message me.

Let me guess... the "new candidate" is Gekkou, Takeshi's brother.

I keep thinking this could be a good GuiltyGear/BlazBlue style fighting game.

Lol... this episode...

Looks like I was right about not explaining anything and the show still skips so randomly.

So Mui's crying and whining worked this time but didn't the past several times? How strange. Also, brother can take out multiple mages in a single hit but can't take out 2 nubs and a little girl. Kinda just went 'wut' when her brother shot out some explosive magic... I thought you used ice magic? Y dis animu no explin nething abut powrs?

Anyone else noticed Takeshi knows how to fly now? Dodging icicles coming out of the wall while in mid air and all...

Only thing I liked in this episode was seeing Momoka, the loli, choice of weapon. A bow compass. That's pretty unique.

I thought this was a good episode. The fights where rushed yes but at least the attacks where cool. Again not an amazing series but I still enjoy watching it.

This series is so rushed I can't get to like the mains. The girls are annoying, MC is an idiot and Kazumi is too dumb. I hate Gekkou tho.
I can't grasp any sense at the seemingly random spell names.
Nanase brothers VA is the best thing on the show imo.

Am I the only one who wonders why they didn't use the magic-sealing bullet from the very start? The show's writing is so bad that even though its enjoyable it does make me cringe.

The battle animation was nice, but it was really rushed still, anyways, finally they saved Mui's bro. I knew it is going to be Gekkou! Can't wait to see what kind of magic he will use.

Aah, to watch this... this is sufferring >_< The story seems like it was written by some 15 year old and moreover it's like watching really bad fanfiction..

Calling those attacks... it's like they are using them without any proper thought into it.. without any limitation.. not to mention they have to sound so "cool".

Now Gekkou is joining Trailers (how cliche and forseeable twist) and all the upcoming drama is set in stone.

I am really on verge of dropping this, perhaps I should did that already after horrible previous ep.

I agree. I wish the action was explained more. Right now it just looks like their saying random things while random things happen. Not to mention, he seriously just got hit by a car.

I know 15 year olds who could write better than this.

Epic fight between the principle and Keppei, though it was a bit pathetic that a car supposedly took him out.

Honestly, this series has a lot of potential. Interesting story behind all of this, but everything else is executed a bit poorly.

Solid episode, much better than the past few with Kurumi's drama. The ost is great too, especially that funky one that plays when Mui is loading up the gun, so catchy. Nakai Kazuya always plays the best insane characters, love hearing him as Keppei.

Momoka best girl.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

Welp, I see where this is going ;l

It urks me to just see Takeshi randomly know all these spells.... They never explained any of them, their functions or anything related to them, he just randomly knows them now? I want to love this anime,it had a good premise and has lovely art, but there is a limit of what I'll except (like the random plot holes, not showing Takeshi's progress and growth, how their world works, etc), and this getting awfully close... ;l

3/5

Episode badly managed, both for the narrative, with the wrong time in presenting things and be in the plot, which I think has hastened the time to get right in the present context that has been created at the end of the episode.
Action that does not shine for involvement and quality of the clashes, maybe that was between the midget and his senpai is a tad better.
Characters still underdeveloped and sometimes boring.
General quality of the drawings and animations really bad that it makes me almost want to tear out my eyes not to see so much crap! XD

This is so bad, I don't even know why I'm still watching it. How did this even get an anime adaptation?

The fights are boring and the animation is complete shit. The character movements are so stiff and rigid.

Oh look, Gekkou joined the Trailers. Who would've thought?

Aw, man... they skipped over his musical number while he was making his ice castle.

Luckily, they did keep the part where they thawed his frozen heart with sibling love... and a bullet.

Ending sequence is still the best thing in this show.

Power rangers music returns.

The "I want my brother arc" is over. Time for "Brother going to the Trailers" arc now.

- And the teleporting car reappears. I'll never get tired laughing at that logic.
- Finally, an episode with less Kurumi screentime.
- Kurumi is still useless. How are they gonna showcase her transformation magic aside from enlarging her breasts and donning skimpy outfits for the lulz?
- I see a Kurumi x Oigama ship growing. I hope it's gonna be that way so she'll stop chasing and bitching about Takeshi.
- Fight between Momoka and her mentor was alright, I guess? Her compass is truly unique and I like her powers of space manipulation. It was too one-sided though. You can truly see how she's struggling a lot while the enemy is just trolling around. Even after sucking him into an unknown dimension, he still escapes unscathed while she's bedridden. Also, why was the Dissolve spell broken? Did her mentor intended it? Because he obviously didn't die.
- The fight where they're supposed to recover Nii-san was horrible though. One shot and it ends. Lol. He could have just evaded it but no. They had to make it more dramatic.
- I'm also wondering if Oigami and that Trailer girl were that valuable to the Trailers since they were willing to exchange Nii-san for them even though Nii-san seems to have more worth than the both of them combined.
- The mentor's candidate is that bastard Gekkou. He's a novice. Why would he choose him? Unless if there's some bullshit where he's a "chosen one" and shit that's gonna happen.
- Overall, this series is still shit but I'll give this episode some merits for having less Kurumi in it.
