SOME MANGA SPOILERS BELOW. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

For those that don't know, the Inter-high Tournament is set up so that there are 4 groups that compete. The top 2 schools from each Group advance into the Semi-Finals where you have Group 1 vs Group 2 and Group 3 vs Group 4. The finals are composed of first and second place finishers in both of those competitions.

Kiyosumi is in Group 3. Given where the manga is right now and the episode count for Zenkoku-hen, it will most likely only cover Kiyosumi's activites in Group 3 and end with them showing the beginning of the Semi-Finals Group 2 (the Group 3 vs Group 4 competition).

Achiga-hen covered Achiga's journey in Group 2 very briefly, but the majority of the show covered the Semi-Final Day 1 tournament in which they competed against Shiraitodai (the winner from Group 1).

If you are familiar with the manga, you will know that Achiga and Shiraitodai's positions in the Finals are locked. For the Semi-Final Group 2, the victors are looking like they will be Rinkai (Group 4 winners) and Kiyosumi (Group 3 winners).

It seems that part of the intent of the whole Saki franchise is to introduce us to all of the schools that will be competing in the Finals. We've followed Kiyosumi in Saki. Achiga-hen let us follow Achiga and Shiraitodai in the 1st Group Semi-finals.

That means the only school we will know nothing about going into the finals will be Rinkai. Given the pace of the Saki manga, I really wouldn't be terribly surprised if we wind up with another spin-off (maybe an OVA, maybe another 12 episode season) of Rinkai's background and journey through the Group 4 competition. This would serve as a good lead into the next season of Saki that will be centered around Kiyosumi, which could either be their Semi-final fight (if that isn't told from the Rinkai perspective) or just the Finals.

There will definitely be enough time for them to throw in another season before the Finals are ready to be animated (heck, we aren't done with the Semi-final round yet).

I'm placing my bets on a spin-off manga and anime centered around Rinkai that will act as another lead-in to the Finals. The only reason I could see them NOT proceeding in this way is if for some reason, Rinkai doesn't make it through into the Finals and Himematsu does instead, since we have already been introduced to them in Zenkoku-hen.

Does anyone else think this is likely?

Hmm... I think if we'll get another spin off anime in Saki universe I think it will be the Shinohayo manga.

well, idk, rinkai could be like shiraitodai, the only match we actually saw them play in was the semifinals, and currently in the manga, we're witnessing rinkai play in the semis, like shiraitodai, so we know the same amount about rinkai as shiraitodai,

as for the finals, I seriously hope ritz doesnt make himematsu win somehow... rinkai, has a huge lead, and like shiraitodai, their 5th player is hyped to be rlly strong. (Usuzan as well) so the weakest player in the semifinals captains match should be kyouko, even if saki said she might not win against her if they play again. So yeah, maybe its just me, I dun rlly feel like Himematsu is that strong a school, compared to a school like Rinkai at least.
