| "So like Antarctica? Where there's only ice snow and wild animals." |
| "That wouldnt be good, the cold could kill us quicker then the infected would" |
| "Ok then somewhere warmer. Umm..... what about the rainforest South America. There were only small villages around them, or would that be to far from here?" |
| "Hmmm a bit too far from here" he laughs |
| "How about....Somewhere in the state of Montana then. There was never a ton of people there. It was quite boring the last time I was there." |
| "Hmmm that might work, take a look in the maps and see if you can find us a quick way or at least a better way there" |
| "Sure, where are they?" |
| "Uh under the car seat you on" |
| Reaching under the seat she felt around. Pulling a few things out she started flipping through them. |
| "One of those should be one" he said minding the road as he drove past abandoned vehicles,the smell got worse as they drove on |
| "Found one." She unfolded it and looked at it. "Where are we right now?" She asked not noticing the smell yet. |
| "Uh somewhere along the coast i think...maybe?" sniffs the air"oh god what is that smell??" |
| Natalie looks up from the map, now smelling the scent. "I'm not sure." She looked around outside for any causes. |
| As they drove around a bus he slammed the breaks, right in front of there eyes maybe 1km away was a massive horde of infected "uh...........we have a problem....." |
| After feeling the jerk of hitting the breaks she looked straight ahead. "I think we found the source of that smell. Well I don't know about you but I think we should talk our leave now." |
| "I think your right" he reversed and spun the car around before pickup up speed away from them |
| She looked in the mirror watching them as they continued to drive off. "I don't think I've seen so many in one place." |
| "Its happening alot now....i have no idea why" he kept going faster |
| "You don't think they can drive do you?" Natalie continued to watch them as they tried to follow. |
| "I dont think so hahaha - HOLY SHIT!" he got caught off guard by some sort of monstrosity infront of them and barely got past it unscathed, It was huge, around the sizes of two buses and like it was made of flesh with two large eyes |
| "What the hell was that thing?" |
| "I haved no fucking idea" he looked in the mirror to see it walk into the horde of infected "Jesus......what the fuck....." |
| "I wonder if thats why they were all gathering." she turned around looking at it. |
| "Maybe...." it looked right at the car and screamed loudly,the infected turned and started to walk and stumble towards the direction they were going |
| "Umm..... I don't think it's done with us yet." She watches as they headed towards them. |
| "Well they aint catching us..." he sped up giving everything it got |
| "I hope you're right, cause they don't seem to want to give up on catching us." |
| "We have speed dont worry...." in reality he was really worried the car had been acting up for a while,he kept going faster and took a road off the highway |
| "Alright then it shouldn't be to hard to lose them right?" |
| "Shouldnt be too hard...if im right....." he pulls behind a sign and turns the engine off. a few minutes later the horde go past on the highway followed by the monstrosity "wow.....didnt think that would work" he whispered |
| "Guess they weren't the brightest. Well at least we're safe for now. By the way good idea, getting off the road and hiding." |
| "Seemed like a good idea....they seem to go baised on vision ....so i guessed really" |
| "Whether it was a guess or not, as long as it worked. Hopefully they won't catch on too quickly that we're no longer going in that direction." |
| "Yeah....bad luck for all those in that direction.......but now we know why all the hordes move like that.....a commander of sorts maybe?" |
| "Sure looked that way to me. But what exactly way the commander?" Opening her book she started to write down observations from today. |
| "Maybe its like a control hub for a hivemind? like bees, the queen that controls the hive, maybe like that?" "but how the hell did that come to be? a mutation of the infection?" |
| "It was gigantic though. And what is it made of? Because it definitely didn't look human to me. |
| "yeah it was........it looked like flesh sort of......that can only be man made right? cause that cant be down to nature...no way in hell" |
| "It's a possibility but to make it come to life and end up being commander of them..... it would take a team of scientist and doctors to create something that big to start with." |
| "what do we even know about the infection? how it started?" he looked at her asking or more like begging hoping Natalie would know something |
| "It's a disease that acts like a genetic mutation.As you can tell they began to change form a little and their smell. It also changes the way the think. As for how it got started I'm not sure. The only way people seem to change into them is if you get a cut from them or are bitten by them." |
| ".....damn..." he looked out the window"Give it a few mins and we'll move on..." |
| "Well if you think about it. If that commander thing was man made and was meant to be the commander of the infected people, then what if the disease was was genetically engineered by someone along with the commander." |
| "Then.....that would make this entire thing....the worst attrocity of mankind?" |
| "It's a fast way to wipe out the human race. But that's only if factor. We don't know for sure." |
| "True" he said blankly "Right i think we can head on now" he turns on the engine and starts driving down the road away from the highway |
| "I hope there aren't to many more mass mobs of them." She looked up from writing for a moment in thought then went back to what she was writing. |
| "Might be more, possible that is...." he took the road they were on and kept driving |
| Putting the book down she looked back at the map. "We were headed towards Oregon before, but i'm not sure where this road we're on now is going." |
| "As long as its away from those things i dont care to be honest" |
