Am I the only one that thinks the plot progress of black label puts the mangaka in to a corner because of the story events taking place? I feel like it blocks any relationship plot progress until the main story reaches the same point.

But the main story is quite close to the start of Black Label. It's currently around March or April. In Black Label they depart to Sarashina's house on 26th of July of the same year. So it's like three months away from "now" in the main story.

And it doesn't block the relationship progress. It just prohibits the change of the relationship status. And considering all the stuff that happens in Black Label, that progress is accounted for.
