He appears quite cruel and harsh, even though most of what he does benefits people. He usually doesn't rely on his death note for contracts or jobs, but will use it if necesary. He only kills those who's deaths he believe would be for the good of most. He wears a skull mask whenever going on jobs that also disguises his face as well as a long black coat which gave him his name 'Shinigami'.
