| I'm willing to get this tournament started by talking to Ms.Aloi about when and where to do this fundraiser. I'm aiming for the cafeteria, and I'll request for maybe 2 TV's? and all the cafeteria tables to come down. Everything else, I'm going to leave up to Jon and maybe Paul if you're willing :P So you guys can do whatever you want, the most i'll do is give tiny suggestions :P Oh, I'll also make a kickass ad for it too :3 But there are a few topics i want to discuss~ 1. Should we have the game tournament directly after school [say 3:00] or late in the afternoon [say 4 or 5 pm] or late around night? [6 or 7pm] I'm asking this cuz i dunno if there are people willing to go home and come back for the game tournament, but then again, if we have it RIGHT after school, we'll loose people who have stuff like sports, clubs, plays, etc... 2. Should we... a) Charge a fee to play in the tournament with unlimited food? b) Have no fee to play but make people pay for food c) Charge a fee to play in the tournament AND have people pay for food d) Just charge a fee and provide no food I vote B cuz if we vote A, we might go bankrupt and if we vote C we'll be ripping everyone off :P Plus, if there's food and people can smell it, they'll want it :P Stuff like pizza, soda, etc... 3. What day of the week should we have the tournament, and what month? I dunno if we should start right away cuz of all the sports and the play and stuff, but i'll talk to Ms. Aloi and see if i can get a schedule so we can choose a date where majority of the school is free. I bet most guys who play sports will want to play in the tournament :P and finally~~~ 4. Which game should we have a tournament for? I'll leave that decision up to you guys, but you all gotta come up with a final decision before I talk to Ms. Aloi :P |
| No food. Once people start eating, the keyboards/game controllers/ect get all sticky and oily from food. My keyboard's all oily cause I'm eating chips TT_TT ...and... STARCRAFT!!!!!!!!!!! or we could ask around, see what game is most popular. |

| 1. Late afternoon: So people aren't tired either way (Post-School/Nighttime) 2. I'm with Paul, no food for the gamers, at least. What small amount of spectators come will be charged for refreshments (Watching nerds pummel each other because one of them got a scopeless, cross-map headshot is quite tiring.) 3. Friday: 'Cuz we won't have to worry about much the next day. 4. Starcraft, Warcraft, Halo, Call of Duty, DDR, Melty Blood, Fatal/Fake, MUGEN, Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Mortal Kombat, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Gears of War... anything multiplayer that can be used in a competitive manner. Hell, I wouldn't mind getting into an intense 4 hour match of Civilizations 4 with a group of people. |

| Yay, so you're finally taking the idea to life!!! I would actually say to do this right after school.We need to get as many people early before they leave home. Screw them if they have no ride back home xD Haha As for days, you HAVE to make sure that there's no basketball,football or sport event in general. Like you say, It's the Men we're gonna advertise. (A) or (B) work the best for me. For food. I would say to bring SNACK, not real food. Something like chips, candy and drinks. It's affordable. Have one table FOR the food. We ban them people ass if they have food near the gamming tables. tissue is important <3 You should definitely have different genre of games. Majority gonna be fighting/action games. It be fun if we had some arcade or party games. Maybe puzzle games for peep who came but are not interested in games. It happen, I know~ I can lend you guys my EIGHT YEAR OLD XBOX THAT HARDLY WORKS but hey, it's be fun to play some classic halo and dead or alive, neh? |

| Okay guys, here's the lay down for the Game Tournament Everything below has been FINALIZED. The following items can NOT be changed. Date of Tournament: Wednesday, March 25, 2009 Time: 6pm - 9pm Location: Cafeteria Amount of TVs: 6-7 Amount of Cafeteria Tables: 4 Amount of foldable chairs: 30 And there will be 1 security guard The reasons behind the choices... March 25th was chosen because it's the earliest day where I don't have Dream Girls rehearsals. Sorry guys, but if I have to juggle around this fundraiser AND dream girls AND show choir AND honors society [and the list goes on...], i'm gonna explode. Any other day of the week, I'm taken. I know this sounds kind of really selfish, but i would like to be able to help manage this fundraiser as much as possible and focus on it as much as i can. So you guys have plenty of time to make decisions and plan this out efficiently :D But keep in mind that March 25th will hit real fast :P I chose a Wednesday in particular because it's the same day of our club meetings, so right after the club, we can go down and set up in the cafeteria. Then majority of the club members can help out :D We'd start at 4:30 to 6 to prepare, which is like... plenty of time. The only sports going on March 25th 2009 is volly ball and TBH, i don't particularly care about them... in fact, i don't think anyone really cares about volly ball... And HOPEFULLY we'll get a hold of the cafeteria that Wednesday. I highly believe we can if we're requesting it in advanced. With 7 TV's, we should decide on which games we'll play and which games require more than 1 TV. Here's what I've got so far: 1. Call of Duty 4 [Main event] which we'll use 2 Tv's for... 2. Super Smash Bros Brawl 3. Halo [?] 4. Gears of War 5. Guitar Hero or Rock Band The list of games isn't final. But I would like a final list of games before March hits us. As far as food goes, I think that we shouldn't do Pizza or meals because it's already trouble enough to have you guys bring in your game systems and i'd hate it if you got them back all greasy and stuff... it's also expensive to get pizza and stuff and you guys know how messy guys can be :P So we'll sell the left over candy from the candy sale, soda, cookies, etc... Anything low costing and not greasy. But this decision is still up for debate. Majority rules of course :P Especially since we're doing it around 6, people will want food ... So thanks so much for replying to this thread and contributing guys :D |
| oh also, the people who can get in the tournament for free are the people who helped us out IN ADVANCED and PRIOR to the fundraiser. NOT the day of the tournament. Because I know we'll get a lot of help the DAY OF because there's gonna be a lot of people who didn't realize that we were doing a game tournament and help out just to be freeloaders...I hope this is clear...Jon Michael will make the decision of who gets to go in for free. And after this fundraiser is done, we'll make changes to the Otakon Priority list. |

| Hey guys! We decided to have to do pre sign ups for the game tournament! BTW, the tournament is for Call of Duty for the slow people... We'll most likely start pre sign ups March 2nd So from March 2 through March 13 we'll charge people 3$ to sign up And form March 16 to March 25, we can charge people 4$ to sign up then it'll be 5$ at the door. We can also maybe give out tickets :P This way we can get a good idea of how many people will attend AND have money in advanced to buy food :] So what we'd need is people willing to stand in Mr. Fitz's room and help out with the pre sign ups. I would say at least 3-4 guys depending on how many people will come to sign up. |

| the name "pre-sign ups" has been changed to pre sale tickets XD because when you say "pre sign ups" it feels like you HAVE to sign up for the call of duty tournament. So we can ask people if they want to be in the tournament when they buy their tickets :P we'll do pre sales during lunch in front of fitz's room. Probably 3 times a week? We can steal one of those science tables in his room :P i don't want to do it in the cafeteria because we require a sponsor to sell with us, and i don't want to have to drag mr.fitz down to the cafeteria, especially with his busy schedule. So selling right in front of his room shouldn't be a problem. I'll talk about it with fitz and then arrange a calendar schedule so people know when they're helping with pre sale tickets. This will probably be arranged the next anime meet, which is next friday so ya'll better be there :P OH YEA! We need posters. Cool and big laminated posters. Jess is taking care of the video for Jag TV, I want to get like 2 or 3 people to help make posters <333 [including sidrah of course lol] |

We should have more then just COD. It may be fun in all but I'm sure more then just first person shooter fans should come. I am intending to bring my cube and an import fighting game, up to four fighting at a time. It is called "Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen! 4". I only have two controllers but John has agreed that he will bring two of his for this. Having more options will allow us to have different prices for each game for a number of rounds...I know I'm kinda greedy... |
