| I received tankouban 10 of “Zetsuen no Tempest” yesterday. This volume contains the 6 “special” epilogue chapters that were published after the end of the main story. Each of the first 5 special chapters focussed upon the life of one of the characters after the end of the story, but the final chapter goes beyond that to bring about some closure mirroring the ending of the anime. The title of special chapter 6 is “Heimaku, Te o”. Hakaze is working at her waitress job one evening when Mahiro and Yoshino walk in to the restaurant. Hakaze is horrified at being found at her menial job, but things get even worse as most of the rest of the main cast eventually show up too. It's great fun seeing Hakaze having to wait on all of them and be polite and servile. But afterwards as an exhausted Hakaze leaves work she finds Yoshino waiting outside because he wants to walk home with her. Hakaze is upset at first, but then goes into shock as Yoshino asks her to hold his hand as they walk. Yoshino makes an excuse that he might get lost because he doesn't have Mahiro to follow, Hakaze accepts that lie and they both smile and walk off together. So Yoshino and Hakaze end up as a couple in the manga too. A great ending to a great series both in the manga and anime! |
