According to the latest issue of Weekly Shounen Magazine, the basketball manga "Ahiru no Sora" has been put on an indefinite hiatus due to the health condition of the author Hinata Takeshi. The manga started serialization in Weekly Shounen Magazine in 2004, and so far 38 volumes have been published.

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

NOOOOOOO! It's bad enough that the translation stopped. I heard that the manga is near the end.. Oh well it can't be help. Hopefully the author will get well soon and resume the manga, maybe after a few years. Sure hope that the scanlation team catch up with the manga in the meanwhile.

This is one of the best basketball manga, with delinquency theme in it. I prefer this over Slam Dunk tbh

That's sad :(
But if we want to see the glass as half full, maybe the scanlators will more or less catch up with it... I always wanted to read it, but the scans are 25 volumes behind... ehm...

The first time I heard about this series I immediately wanted to read it but the lack of translations stopped me...

Once this is fully translated and I have access to it, I will definitely (marathon) read it.

Too bad for the hiatus, but I hope the author gets well soon. :)

This looks like a great manga, hopefully the author gets better and finishes it. I wouldn't mind seeing this as an anime either, maybe then more scanlators will pick it up lol.
