| she can't be 38 according to what I understand about the dbz time frame DB Start - 16 years training for Tournament 21 (age 17) 3 years pass for Tournament 22 (age 20) 3 Years pass for Tournament 23 (age 23) 5 years pass - DBZ Start (age 28) 1 year later - Vegeta arrives on Earth (age 29) 2 years later - Goku returns to Earth (age 31) Namekians lived on Earth for 6 months and its a further year and a half after before Frieza attacks Earth and Trunks kills him 3 years later - Androids/Cell (age 34) 7 years later - Buu saga (age 41) 4 Years later - Bills Awakens (age 45) 6 Years Later - DBZ End (age 51) how'd we lose 7 years? or Have I added 7 years that never happened? or was Bulma just lying about her age? EDIT: checked the timeline on Dragonball wikia. Bulma is Born in age 733 Movie 14 takes place in age 778 She's definitely 45, did the subs simply get it wrong? |

| yeah, for dragon ball, don't go nuts over the continuity, they even forgot to put tails on Trunks and Goten after they were born, literally, they said they forgot about that in half-saiyans. I though it was indeed possible for Bulma to be lying saying it's 38, the real joke being women always like feeling younger. After all, if she's 45 by the movie it implies she ha Trunks at age 39 or so, which doesn't look that good. |

| The "lying about her age"-explanation could work... were it not for Mai also claiming to be 41. And I can totally believe her being three years older than Bulma, though she has absolutely no reason to be shaving a year or seven off her actual age, seeing how she has the body of a ten-year-old in this. So yeah, I just chalk it up to Toriyama being his usual forgetful self and forgetting the timeframe the series took place over. |
