| This is interesting news. I recently rewatched the whole anime (which I already loved as a child) and plan to write a paper for my japanese media class concerning the World Masterpiece Theatre classics and wanted to pick Akage no Anne as the most representing example of the WMT series. |

| Digging around some more, I found some sort of press release from bandai visual that seems to indicate that in 2009 they will adapt Konnichiwa Anne, but it is one throwaway sentence in teh whole documnt, and it doesn't give a date. Everything is more focused on the 30th anniversary of the old WMT anime series, and the release of a shiny new anniversary edition DVD box set of it. They are also in the middle of rebroadcasting the original on TV there. Hmmm. |

| The only thing that I'm slightly worried about is that the book "Before Green Gables" (wich konnichi wa Anne is based on) wasn't written by the same author than the rest of the Anne books. Exact starting date will be April 5th according to japanese wikipedia. |

| I am glad that there is more concrete info about it now! I knew it couldn't be out as a winter anime with so little information about it anywhere. April makes more sense. Random note, Kevin Sullivan, who made the 2 fabulous Anne miniseries from the 80's (and the not as great sequel in early 2000) has also just made a new Anne miniseries about her life before being adopted by Matthew and Marilla. That certainly seems to be a popular theme. I am assuming it is also based on these books before green gables. http://www.sullivanmovies.com/ (Also, their music video for the 'mozart magic flute diaries' is pretty cracktastic, lol. |

Anyway, Kimura can you please post a link to the trailer you saw? ^^ EDIT: I searched in youtube and found this trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMoaHAxvihc I wonder if it is the same or if there are different ones out there. I like the trailer. The drawing style looks good and fits perfectly in the old Wolrd Masterpiece Theatre atmosphere. |

Still thanks for saying that there IS a trailer, else I wouldn't have searched for it. Nice, the trailer came out in time, so that I can show it to my class when presenting my Akage no An paper. |

So you can watch it without "missing" anything. But it would be nice if you get intrigued enough to also watch the older anime after this one. :) |
