So Episode One Was Good, The Premise That I Understand Is He Is Trying To Figure Out His Kidnapper By Opening A Cake Shop. I Give That Credit Because It's Been 28 Years And Found Nothing, Also A Kidnapping Case Solved By Cake Has Never Been Done Before. A Ten For Initiative.
The Characters Were Good, The 4/5 Mark Was A Little Awkward But It Gives Good Ground For Ono. The Main Character I Enjoy, I Really LIke The Faces He Makes And How They're Drawn.
Onto The Drawing, I'm Not A Big Fan Of 3D Modeling In Anime But This One Only Uses It For Transitions And It Still Keeps THat anime Feel So They Did THat Really Well.
Lastly, They Foreshadowed On The Boxer Taking Interest In A Bakery, So You Got A Wide Arrangement Of Baker's. An Actual Baker, An Ex Lawyer, And An Ex Boxer. A Fun Crew To Start A Bakery With I Guess. Also In The Boxers Sake, I Don't Know What A Detached Retina Is, But IT Doesn't Sound Very Pleasant And I Wonder If He Got It From Boxing. Being Punched Hard Enough In My Face To Break My Eye Would Make Me Sad.
Anyways Very Enjoyable Series So Far, But That's How Uragiri Started Off....... Let's Hope THis Show Chooses THe Better Path In My Opinion.
Episode 2 Has A Better Grounding Than The First, We've Already Met The Main 2 And now The Last I Believe, Or 2nd From Last. And The CHaracters Are Very Warming And Easy To Get Into. The Relation The Boss Has With The Main Baker Is So Much Fun, It's Like They're Best Friends. Eiji The Now Trainee, His Character Is Fun, Normally A Minion Or A Lackee Type Is Annoying, But He's Not Pushing Any Buttons At The Moment.
I Didn't Make Note Of It In The First Episode, But I Like How The Did The Visuals Of The Opening Song.
What i Enjoy Most Out Of The Show Is The Characters, And The Animation Of They're Faces They're Done Very Well So Far. In My Opinion I'm Not One For Skirt Chasers, But I Guess He's Using It As A Scapegoat For His Real Reason Of Owning A Cake Shop. Which As A Trauma I Can Understand So All Is Forgiven In His Sense.
All In All, For The 2nd Episode It Felt Long, But An Enjoyable Long Episode. But I Do Understand It Being 12 Episodes, Anymore Would Be A Stretch, I'm Happy When Directors Know When To Call The Cuts.
What Do i have To Say About Antique Bakery ... Aside That It's Growing On Me And I'm Loving It. If In One Word I Could Describe It So Far And Have It Relate To The Anime .... F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S There's My Pastry Chef Comment For That. So The Introduction Or Further Introduction Of Chikage Was Very Well Done. He Is A Character I Can Thoroughly Enjoy, And The Act Of The Gay Demonic Charm Working, Surprised Me. But Chikage Going All Homosexual Now Just Makes Him That Much More Of A Fun Character. The One Thing I Will Say This Show Is Doing VERy Well In My Favor, Is The Facial Expressions They Use. I Also Love The Effects They Use To Emphasize Such As Tachibana Doing His Selling With The "Golden Feathers". Every Character Has A Personality Done To An Extreme, And Somehow That Extreme Isn't Too Much, Any ANime That Can Push An Extreme And Not Make It Extreme At The Same Time, Handles Well In My Book And I Really Like Antique Bakery So Far.
Oh How I Love This Show So Far, Pochi Pochi Pochi 10. Can It Stay That Way Though ?
As Much As i Love Tachibana, My Heart Gnaws At Me How I Wish Chikage Was The Main Character Too Sometimes. The Amazing Part Of This Series Is 1/3rd Done And not A Single Annoying Character Can It Join The Ranks Of The VERY Few Who Don't ?
We Learn In This Episode Why Tachibana Opened THe Cake Shop. That Story Line Is So Absurd, Which Is Why This Show Is So Great. It Goes To The Deep End On Every Subject. The Story, The Gay Baker, The Dumb Butler, Everything. But It Treads That Deep End With Grace And Beauty.
What Is Also Amazing Is This Show Took An Antique Shop, So The Artwork Of The Building Is Amazing, And The Way The Shop Is Ran From The Outside, But Seats Inside Is Also Amazing.
They Run Things The Same As Other Shows, But With A Twist. A Twist Of Beauty That Is.
A Lot Of People COmplain About The Animation, But What I See Is The Artists Love Poured Into This Well Baked Anime <3
I Will Continue By Saying This Series So Far Is Really Good, Not Much About This Episode To Say. They're Continuously Progressing Shop Skills, And Have Now Introduced Dishes Alongside Cakes, The SHop Is Becoming More Notorious And The Story Is Moving Along For A Cake Shop. All Is Good, But To Be Said About THis Episode .... That Damn Lady Needs A Good Smack, Tachibana Was Doing His Job And She's Just Got Something Stuck In Her -_-
If I Had To Say Anything Negatively About The Show Thus Far, Now Being MOre THan Halfway.... They Need More CHikage Screen time.
Alrighty For The 11th Episode, First Thing I Can Say Is ... I Want A Choux A La Creme, Who Doesn't?
Lastly, It Was A Fun Episode A Different Take Not Focused On The Shop But On The Surveillance, It Was A Slight Break Which Is Nice.
The Ending... i So Thought It Was The Old Man, It Got Me On That One. I Love How Chikage Is Sooooo Dedicated, I Doubt The Drunkard Had Contacts Though.
Also ... Anywhere But Japan, Searching For A Contact Like CHikage Did Under The Table ... LAWSUIT !
But Isn't That Why We All Love Japan, The Land Of Animation And Where Rules Are Backwards And Loved !
Just Like This Series<3
So The FInal Episode Is Here And Done. Overall As A Series I Was A Fanatic In The Beginning. It Was The Bright Shiny New Toy To Me, But After I Played With It For A While I've COme To Know The Merits Of This Said "Toy".
The Characters, Well Done. CHiakge Is My Favourite, He Is In My Opinion The One That Gave The Show The Most Spice, With A Side Dish Of Humor. We Got A Ful COurse Of Every Emotion With Him, And You Really Feel For Him.
Story Wise, I Feel A Little Lackluster. They Work On The Story Of Progressing A Cake Shop, While Foreshadowing Capturing The Kidnapper Of The Main Guy From Years Ago. You Don't Really Feel Like The Progress Of Finding The Kidnapper Come Into Effect Until Around Episode 10/11. The Let Down Is There Was A New Kidnapper Who Did The Same Exact Thing As The Kidnapper Who Kidnapped To Our Knowledge ONLY The Main Character.
The Progression Of The Cake Shop, Is Where I Feel It Could've Been More. Not Saying It Wasn't, But The Characters Progressed, The Cake Shop It's Like If I Showed You A Picutre Of My Dog At Age 1 To 12, You Wouldn't See The Progression, But You'd See The Stages. That's What We Got, We Just Saw New Cakes, New Trends, New Regular Customers We Didn't See A Continual Growth, Or Introductions To Anything.
But Overall A Very At Times Awkward But Still Very Loveable Series. I Guess From After Uragiri, This Was A Pickup.... I'm Thanking God Yuki Wasn't THe Patissiere lol.
