After this chapter, there's only one thing I know for certain-- Ken has no such allegiance to anyone but food. Yes, not even Nobunaga. The further supporting argument the series has for it is that he's always been constantly cooking for his life-- not for Nobunaga, not for Chacha, nor anyone else for that matter.

Now that I think about it, has Ken ever failed to please anyone with whatever he had prepared for them? Ofc not-- since failing could only mean losing his life, and losing his life means this series is done.
HAPPY SCANS!

That pretty much makes sense - he just wants to make food that will please the person he is cooking for. It's often in food mangas and in movies where the chef has an great talent / power like this - to be able to see / tell what type of food the person likes/ wants/ needs - the whole idea of a chef with a magical type talent to make people feel things through their cooking. So I've sort of seen this with more of that angle coming through. You don't really see too many of those chefs here in America cause the chef never talks to or knows anything about the customer - the guest is just ordering off a menu and that's it - there's no interaction or it is Extremely rare in real life. Even in 5 star restaurants - say it's a French chef - he acts like a lord of the kitchen and will get mad if anyone goes against his will or wants his food differently in fact, many of them are the opposite of Ken - it's like they think anyone who doesn't love their food is a peasant.
