Attack on titan expectations

The new series Attack on Titan has been a heated topic for weeks now and i want to know what everyone is expecting from it thus far

It really has been one isn't it ?
When I read the manga I was drooling over the prospect of seeing them use their 3-D Gear and so far I have not been disappointed :D
I am expecting amazing things but....
We all know how anime and manga variations occur.
I personally liked it when the training they received was done as flashbacks rather than showing the entire thing.
I mean, the first 2 episodes get you pumped and then 1 episode it got laid back a bit.
Anyone up to date with the manga 'cause it might be spoilers :P

Ha ha i agree completely, the use of flashbacks made it much better than long drawn out retelling, and im almost up to date with the manga but i havent had time to read any more. The animation is amazing, and the details used are incredible. I do agree that the manga and anime could part into two very different directions but im hoping that AOT doesnt make the mistake that many other anime have. I still have to say that they built up Eren a lot only to completely shatter his awesomeness by having him get the crap beaten out of him within 10 minutes. Then again i watched the anime before i started reading the manga so i understand now but that really annoyed me at one point. It still looks like it can turn out into something amazing though

Still it really was amazing how it all adds up in the story.
The defection within the humans themselves, the identities of the special 3 titans and how they find out using little clues from here and there. It's not hidden. If you have good perception skills you can figure it out before they even tell you.
I do have a little problem with Mikasa though...
In the Anime they hype her way too much. Granted she's a genius and awesome but she appears different from every other girl (way noticeable when she's older). Even lipsticks on her lips. I like her appearance better in the manga. :D
Or maybe I'm too picky regarding those stuff :P

Trust me im far pickier and i agree 100% i liked her better in the manga. But what really gets me about this show is the idea that we are the ones who are hunted we are the ones who are hunted we are small and weak. i enjoy the idea of us being trapped and cornered not us doing that to something else. I think it also portrays the idea of how short life can be and how fragile are lives really are.

True that. Just shows how unexpected things can drastically change how you perceive life.
But it also shows the deceit of men don't you think ? Mankind is destroying themselves from the inside too.

I agree especially when it says that the wall has been protecting them for a hundred years, it shows how everyone believes everything is just peachy, but in reality everything is still wrong. The many subtle messages within the show are what i enjoy looking for. Don't you think?
