Virane paced back and forth in the dim room, growling softly to herself. She still couldn't believe how she had ended up here. One minute she was with her pack, and the next, she had been captured and thrust into a cage. She wasn't sure how much time had passed before she had been moved, and when she'd finally been released from that cage, she found herself here of all places. But where was here? She had been bound and blindfolded until the door had closed behind her; only then was she released, and then promptly locked in, alone in the room, awaiting god knew what. |

Virane went still, looking over at the man. For a moment, her golden eyes went to the door, but she immediately dismissed it. There was no way she would be able to get past him. She was fast, but he was twice her size. Instead, she backed away, almost disappearing into the shadows. Her eyes seemed to glow faintly in the darkness. "Who are you?" she asked quietly. Her voice was soft, and held a faint unknown accent, giving it a slight exotic quality. There was something about her that was inhuman; a certain wildness that emanated from her very body. |

She looked him over, still not moving away from the wall. There was no harm in telling him that, she supposed. "Virane." There was something about him that she didn't like. His scent was all wrong. What he was, she didn't quite know, but she was sure that he wasn't human. "Why am I here?" |

His face takes on a thoughtful look. "Hmm, I'm not entirely sure why they picked you. They normally find Human girls, but you are the one who was brought in today. As to why you are here, I ask my servants to go out and get me a new slave girl every now and then, and it looks like you were the one who was chosen. But I sense that there is something not quite human about you...something a little more....feral" he relishes the word as it rolls off his tongue. "I think we could have some fun here. And I think there is something you should know about this maor. Anyone who lives here and calls this place their home ages more slowly than everyone else...think that over before you try to run off, pet" He turns his back to Virane and continues speaking. "I will leave you here to make your choice. if you choose to stay, we have a room ready for you. However, if you should choose to try and leave....you will have to be eliminated. I do not tolerate disobedient pets" With that he opens the door with a wave of his hand and slowly exits the room |

Her eyes narrowed. Aged more slowly...? She already aged slower than a human. But he apparently didn't know that for sure yet. She desperately wanted to get out of here, especially when she heard the word 'slave'. If that was what he expected her to be, he was mistaken. She was the alpha of her pack! There was no way that she was going to lower herself to be someone's slave. Still, there was something about him that she found curious. She could at least stay around long enough to find out just what his secret was. After he had left, she slowly made her way out of the room, although she had no idea where she would go. |

"I will stay." For now. But she wasn't about to agree to the second part. The way she carried herself made it clear that she was no lowly demon. She was highborn, although it wasn't apparent just what kind of demon she was. Now that she was out of the shadows, he could clearly see her face. Her features were more elegant than those of a human, yet another clue as to her inhuman bloodline. |

He smiles at her and steps to her side. "Let me show you around the manor," he says as he places and arm around her waist. "And I'm sure you're hungry after your travels. We shall make a detour to the kitchens as well. And while we are taking the guided tour, maybe you can tell me a little of your demonic heritage." He smiles at her surprised look. "Yes, little one, I know that you are of demonic descent. Truth be told, I am as well. But enough of me, I seem to be babbling like a young schoolgirl" |

She didn't like him being this close to her; as soon as he touched her, she stiffened, stepping back just out of reach. She wasn't afraid of him, just wary. She didn't know what she could get away with without being harmed. Although she wasn't afraid of death, that didn't mean she welcomed it. "I am a wolf; the alpha of my pack." It was true that she was hungry; the men who had captured her had fed her just enough to keep her alive. She couldn't even remember how long it had been since she'd been able to eat her fill. |

"A wolf! Oh how splendid!" He says with sheer glee in his voice. She can't help but to feel a little happier at the sound of his emotions, as he puts magic into the words to alter peoples moods to match his own. " You wouldn't be willing to shw me your wolf form, would you?" he states with utter curiousity. He leads her down a hall and she can smell something delicious wafting from the corridor. |

Her head tilted slightly back, and she took in the air. Her stomach growled, and she looked away in embarrassment. "I do not like to transform unless I have to." Why was he so excited about what she was? She'd never seen anyone react to what she was like that before. |

He looks slightly saddened by the rebuke, and says simply "I hope you enjoy your meal, Virane" She notices this is the first time he's actually used her given name, and she also notices, at her refusal, a trail of firey footprints where Philip walks, footprints that weren't ther a moment ago. He opens the door that leads to the dinig hall, and reveals an extravagant feast placed out on the table. "this is for you. Eat your fill, if you would like. And remember this, if you choose to stay here, you will eat like a king for the rest of your days." He pulls out a chair for her and waits for her to take it before scooting it back in. |

She watched him for a moment before standing back up and taking a few steps away from him. Her form seemed to flicker, and in only a moment, a pure white wolf stood in her place. The golden eyes still held extreme intelligence, but that wasn't the most obvious feature. What set her apart from normal wolves was her size. She was easily as big as a small pony. She held that form for a few seconds before transforming back, all without a word. |

" oh, that was splendid indeed." His happy glow flushes back into his face, along with the magic in his words. "Since you have shown me your demon form, tis only fair that I show you mine." He stands up and steps away from the table. In a burst of flames, his hair grows longer and turns a deeper shade of crimson, his ears grow longer and more pointed, and his hands turn into wicked looking claws. large black wings tinted red from the flames erupts from his back. "This is my true form, little one. Pray tell me, what are your thoughts?" The power emanating from this form is overwhelming, and before she suffers any physical damage from being in his true presence, he turns back into his human form. |

Surprisingly, she wasn't afraid; not much frightened her. But she didn't know just what of him. She was fascinated by his wings, and would have liked to get a better look at them. But it was only fair, she supposed, since she had only shown him her form for a few seconds, that he did the same. "What exactly are you?" she asked at last. "What kind of demon?" |

he face takes on a thoughtful cast again. "hmmm, I've never actually thought about that before. I always thought I was just a demon." He chuckles at his own ignorance. "To be honest, I used to be a human. I made a deal with a demon to make me a powerful being, and he turned me into one of his kind. Hell, that was over 400 years ago. But I am actually a demon/god now, so...I don't really think there is a true classification for one of my kind" he chuckles again. "But please, this is the time for eating. Lets see, we have roast pig, roast leg of lamb, some different kinds of vegetables, rolls, and a salad. Please, enjoy" |

Despite herself, her mouth began to water. She had never been this hungry in her life. Even when her pack had experienced harsh hunting in winter, they had always managed to scrounge up enough to keep themselves from starving. Sitting back down in her chair, she picked up a plate, taking a piece of every dish of meat, but choosing the other food sparingly. "This looks amazing," she admitted. |

Although she was ravenously hungry, she still ate delicately; even now, she wouldn't forget her manners. But after a few bites, she paused. "Are you not going to eat anything?" Surely all of this wasn't meant for her. As a wolf, she could eat more than a human without any ill effects, but even then, there was no way she could finish all of this. |

All of this delicious food, and he chose to eat an apple? But then, he probably ate like this every day, so it was no real surprise, when she thought about it. Still, she kept her eyes on her plate, knowing she might not like what she saw if she looked at him. He said that he was going to make her a slave...what kind, exactly? |

He continues to eat his apple, taking slow deliberate bites and chewing them thoroughly, making the apple last longer than it should have. "So," he says, not looking at her. "you've decided to stay here for the time being. I'm going to tell you this; I will not force you to do anything that you yourself do not want to...well, other than staying here. other than that, you have free reign of the grounds and manor. However, as I stated earlier, if you try to escape, you will be hunted down and disposed of. I do not take kindly to showing people hospitality and having them shit all over me" She realizes this is the first time she heard the demon swear, and can probably tell that he is dead serious |

At last, she looked up at him, her gaze searching. She wasn't quite sure what to make of this. If he wasn't going to make her do anything she didn't want to do, things might not be so bad here. Except... "You said that you were going to turn me into your slave. I may be wrong, but does that not mean doing things that I am ordered to do, whether or not I want to do them? Have you changed your mind about why I am here?" |

He takes a deep breath and lets it out with a sigh "well, I normally have no intentions a turning demons into slaves, as I had once been. I normally reserve that title for the humans that are brought to me. I will admit that I relished the idea of taming a wolf, but seeing as how headstrong you are, I felt that it would be a long and arduous task. One that I didn't feel like undertaking at the moment. Then, as I watched you walk, transform and eat...especially while you were eating, I saw the beauty in you. How you restrain yourself even though you are famished...which is the main reason I had this feast prepared for you, by the way. You have a quiet strength about you, one that I would not want to break in a million lifetimes. So, I made the decision to let you live here and do as you please so long as you don't try to leave. Are you willing to go along with my wishes?" He says wholeheartedly and looking directly into her eyes. |

The surprise in her eyes was impossible to hide. This had turned out better than she had thought it would. There was just one problem. If she was trapped here, then she could never return to her pack. Still, it might be intriguing to stay here for a while. "Very well," she said at last. "I will remain here." |

It wasn't long before she had finished eating, and she stood up, pushing her chair back under the table. Although she seemed outwardly calm, inside, she was still a bit confused as to his motivations. Not wanting to break her spirit she could understand, but his offer to stay here didn't seem to fit what he had said. If it was simply an invitation, she could understand it. But the fact that she wasn't allowed to leave meant that she was essentially a prisoner here. True, the prison itself was beautiful, from what she had seen, but it was still a prison nonetheless. |

He leads her down a long corridor, passing magnificent marble statues, ancient suits of armor, and dazzling paintings, obviously all of them original works of art by masters of their craft. he leads her past several doors, then stops short at one. "Ah, I think this room will do the trick" He opens the door and offers her to go inside first. Inside, she sees an enormous room, easily fifty feet wide. There is a large canopy bed, windows set along the outside wall, and a door to the left leading to a bath chamber. Inside the bath chamber is a large bathtub set in the floor, and a vanity, along with the necessary equipment. the entire suite reeks of Victorian Opulence. He walks to the wardrobe, opens it and calls Virane over. "If you feel you want to change out of your clothes, you may wear any of these. They are all dresses, perfectly sized for her, and of modern elegance. "They will fit you perfectly. Before you arrived, I was told your measurements and had a complete wardrobe prepared for you." |

She slowly went inside, running her fingers lightly over the columns that supported the canopy on the bed. It was the most elaborate room she had ever been in. Slowly, she turned around to look at him. "All of this is for me?" It was a bit hard to believe. She felt so out of place; this was more like the room a princess would have. True, she was the alpha of her pack, but she certainly wasn't royal. |

He walks up to her, lifts her chin with his hand, and moves his head slowly closer, as if going in for a kiss. He gently whispers "dont ever think that you are not royalty. Even if you aren't by blood, I think everyone can be in spirit" With that he lets go of her chin, walks out of the room, then pauses, turns around, and says to her "If you need anything, I'll be down the hall in the very last room" He exits the room, shutting the door and leaving her to her privacy. |

Virane blinked in surprise. He had startled her so much that she hadn't even thought to keep her distance from him. What had happened to her? It was like she hadn't even been able to move! She shook her head. It wouldn't happen again, she told herself. She couldn't afford to let her guard down. Still...why had he said that to her? He had more secrets than he was letting on, she was sure. And he had left before she had even had a chance to say anything. |

Moving over to the wardrobe, she opened it, looking over all of the gowns inside. Really, she didn't like wearing gowns or skirts that much; they were difficult to move in, and she had to be ready to fight at any moment. Or at least, she used to be. Now, though... I suppose I can wear things like this now and not have to worry. And they are very beautiful... It would be rude of her to turn her nose up at his kindness, especially since he'd said that he'd had these clothes made just for her. Shrugging, she selected a sleeveless knee-length gown, slipping out of the clothes she was wearing and folding them up before putting them aside. It was a bit difficult for her to fully zip up the back of the gown, but after a bit of maneuvering, she managed it without assistance. The black silk was soft against her skin, and she couldn't help but smile. |

That was fast. She hadn't expected to see him again for the rest of the day. Or at least, for another few hours. Shrugging, she made her way over to the door, opening it. Now there was just one problem. Where was she supposed to go? This place was large enough that she could easily get lost, and as she hadn't had the opportunity to look around yet, she hadn't been able to form a mental map of the house, if it could even be called that. |

Her answer was immediate. "The woods." It had been forever since she'd been free to wander in the forest, and she missed it so much that it was actually painful to think about. His face takes on a serious cast as he continues to speak to her. "No, I sense something deeper than that....Family, I suspect. It's your pack, isn't it?" He leads her into the forest. Her eyes closed, and she inhaled deeply, taking in the scents of the forest, and letting its power fill her. There was something strange about this place, but it was still welcoming, somehow. "I had always been raised to be the alpha of my own pack," she told him, her voice soft. "When I came of age, I left my parents' pack, which I had been born into. The members of my pack were the children of my generation, born to the members that comprised the pack that my parents were in. One day, hunters came to the forest. Hunters that had found out about us, and wanted to capture us. I split off from my pack to lure the hunters away, and I was captured. That was almost half a year ago. I have not seen them since. Honestly, I do not even know if they are still alive. It is possible that the hunters went back after I was captured." |
