| I was born one. No really, I've been watching since I was like 3. Filipino dubbed anime, IIRC, sounds funny as shit. But my first real obsession anime was Robotech... err, Macross, Space Cavalry Southern Cross, and MOSPEADA. |

| I guess i might as well answer the question since i'm posting here so much. I started getting interested into anime when i saw .Hack//SIGN on Adultswim one night when I was in the 5th grade (I think). But I really didn't get fully into it till around the 9th grade when all my friends where getting into it, so I've been an otaku for about... 3 years maybe? |
| okay... here is my brilliant anime history. first anime was... either pokemon, dragon ball z or sailor moon back in like... kindergarten or first grade. Then around maybe 3rd grade was Tenchi Muyo, Yugioh! and Rurouni Kenshin. 5th grade i was CRAZY over Shaman King and Yuyu Hakusho. I remember having sexual dreams about Hao and Yoh... good times, good times. i downloaded my first anime in 6th grade [episode 84 of Naruto... yes. i remember the episode as clear as day.] Yeah. I said it. Naruto. *cries* But I have to admit, when I started downloading Naruto, that ultimately triggered my Otaku fest and year after year I downloaded more and more anime until... now 8D I started following anime seasons [like winter, spring, fall, and summer anime, etc...] in like 2007...Back then I didn't even know that 100 anime series releaese every year @_@;; anyways...I've pretty much been an Otaku all my life |

O.O" well, i'm officially disturbed xD Darkrumor said: Personally i think your right, but an otaku is a person who is OBSESSED with anime, games, manga, etc. i think brian is more right (yes, i said more right), you don't really become otaku until you're obsessed because i know that i've been watching things like pokemon, dragon ball z, digimon, sailor moon, etc. since i was little. i was then introduced to manga when i got a shounen jump from a guy who liked me in the 5th grade xD but i don't think i became otaku then, i believe i became otaku when my dad showed me an AMV (i bet he wishes he'd never showed me that video now.) since then, i became morbidly obsessed with making amvs. then came along megaman and pokemon video games :] 4 years after that i discovered onemanga.com xD |

| lol, first anime I ever watch was pokemon and digimon. But back then, I just watched anything on tv. I was never a big anime fan. Actually, I was scare of them. If you guys seen my profile, one of my favorite anime ever would be yu yu hakusho. Ironically, when I was in 4th or 5th grade, I was so FREAKEN scare of that anime. I mean, I was innocent and was like, "mommy, they're beating up that poor orange headed dude!! (ep 2)" But my first anime that really caught my interest was Inuyasha. Great stuff back in the old days. sneak downstair to watch it at night, getting in trouble. Yeaaa.... that's when I start to become an otaku.... yeaaaa~ Then Rurouni Kenshin came to my life..... chep. Now i'm a Otaku for life xD haha! |
