"It could have. But think about it. He has been through a lot. Sometimes for some people, building a wall around themselves is the only way to keep them from getting hurt again," she reasoned. "Though, that's not to say that you haven't been through quite a bit yourself."

"It's understandable to be scared of what he's done. I guess from the view of another vampire and seeing how others have struggled through this, I can begin to picture some of what he could have done. Assuming the vampires that had him are as bad as he makes them sound, I'm kind of surprised he's even sane right now."
