I actually enjoyed this episode, most of the jokes this time were a bit funny.

The ED didn't make any references to the jokes used in the episode this time though.

LOL at her telling him he's using too many tissues. xD

"Jalapeño, Frappuccino, what's the difference?"

Just a personal observation, when I went to Japan on vacation last November I almost never saw people eating or drinking while they were walking around, and those times I pulled out a drink or a snack I felt very self conscious.

(It was, however, a completely different story on non-local trains, where boxed lunches were quite common)

I really liked how she whispered "that's how it is" about talking loudly on trains, am really glad they changed things up with that, hearing her say it in exactly the same way for the first few episodes was starting to get dull

I do like the differences, den ga na man ga na is my favorite osakaben phrase now!

Since when are Jalapeño and Frappuccino English words?
People talking loudly on trains is something you have everywhere there always those that want to stand out or simply don't care about others.

Do Osaka people really mix up UFJ the bank and USJ the theme park? Really questionable.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Same things? Are you so knowledgeable about how Osaka people act and think differently from Tokyo people and you can predict all the rules ahead? I live in Japan for many years and I am still learning. This anime carries good insight about the Osaka way, even though it mixes in some dubious rules as good as good ones.

I always found the Kantoben, Nagoyaben, Kansaiben and Osakaben differences amusng, Nihonbashi in Chuo vs. Nipponbashi in Den den town. People from each really enjoyed explaining the differences. For food it was quite funny how much they wanted me to prefer theirs but I like everything so I was no help there.

The Osaka Okan Rules book is quite funny, especially the new wraparound band showing how the previously ugly main character became a blue-haired, twin-tailed, snaggle-toothed cutie in the anime LOL

I certainly bought an iced kohi or matcha swarkle to drink while walking between the Ebisu subway station and the office daily in summer, ase ase sweating in a black pinstriped suit in July and August at 40C. Tachigui I did too... Didn't spend enough time there to know if it was more common there or elsewhere.

As an outsider I think the differences are smaller than they perceive but the differences, the little bits of local identity seem very important to them so I rolled with it, daichigaida!

I think it is a fun show and book, even a little bit educational. They have a whole series of them, looks like they recently added Hiroshima Rules. Mari-chan from Hiroshima was a bijin for sure... May have to get Nagoya Rules, love Nagoya... Met Nagoya mama of Chanko Club but that was something else... From an Osaka Okan.

The interesting thing about this anime is it also tells you the odd (to us perhaps) practice that Tokyo people do. For example, here you see they frown on eating or drinking while walking but I would agree with Osaka people that this should be no big deal.

And this is what makes this anime so entertaining. Sometimes I think those who find this anime boring seems a bit lacking in curiosity to learn about regional differences of Japanese culture and society and only focuses on superficial things like what things they do or what face they make etc

Yes, the regional differences really surprised me, every little thing is different. There really is no such thing as miso or ramen, it is different everywhere you visit. Eat it like this, drink it with that...

I only spent one day/night in Osaka, but of the six cities I visited last November I do think it might have been the only place where I recall people doing that, though the place I recall it from isn't really 'fair' as I was in the Namba entertainment district. But, of the nearly 1300 pictures I took on my trip I think this is the only place were I have "evidence" (the young lady on the far right in this picture).

(In case it's not obvious, I'm the fellow wearing a hat)

I had met up with a friend and we met two of his friends there that evening (not the two in this picture - they were just passers by). We went to a couple of different places to get things to eat and, er, a "few" drinks.

It said that Osaka people tend to do that. Were you in Osaka?

Also, maybe those are just stereotypes.

Yes, but I've heard it's particularly impolite in Japan.

I respect your opinion as long as you respect mine.
