Oh man this story is depressing. A kid gets into a accident and then turns into a zombie. Very sad considering in reality there are many car accidents.

I like the new character and I felt very depressed knowing there are no ways to save that child. Reminds of terminal ill children.

Ouri is a coward but he should know more how he is since the car is trying to remind him something.

I really like how this episode turned out. Making Ouri as more of an main character allowed more emotion into the battle than the other fights in the manga (though I've only read the 4 chapters scanlated so far.) Also, the OP was epic; can't wait until the single comes out >_<

I shall now await for the fansubs.

I'm almost tempted to keep watching this just for the violence and the nifty opening. If it weren't so mind-blowingly horrible, I probably would.

Care to elaborate how, after watching two episodes, you have already surmised this show is "mind-blowingly horrible?"

Good show, got freaked out when that little monster turn into the little girl and asked Ouri for help, Shouldn't he be more concerned for that girl bleeding out on the floor.

That monk/priest guy is funny how he was posing at the end. And how he's trying to give those toys to Ouri.

They were pretty good as far as I could tell.

As for the episode it was a pretty good one though sad. Stupid kiddy demons

Was the last epiosde as distractingly dark as this one. I could barely make anything out. Overall better than the first and the op was pretty good.

Wow the direction is totally fantastic, truly Gainax-ish (if I didn't know the director, I could be tempted to say Hideaki Anno since the style ressembles so much his), and the overall atmosphere is so dark and human at the same time. And if you add some characters with a lot of potential and a great opening by Angela, there's no doubt Shikabane Hime really is a great anime, and probably has the best first episodes I've seen this season (but let's wait until Tytania develops some more ;)).

It just amaze me how people judge anime series. Almost all the series I've watched so far have been severely bashed (Gundam 00, Ga-rei, Shikabane, etc...) because it is... too generic? As far as I can tell, nothing was wrong with Shikabane so far and it is definitely pretty decent.

Sigh.

Awesome Op credits!

OK episode, better than the first. The creatures looked cool and it does horror well.
I'm wondering if 1st volume of manga will be skipped over completely. Other than that, no major complaints.

Finally get to hear/see the OP, and it was pretty good.
Oori's voice is horrible; I can barely make out any emotion in it, especially when he's supposedly yelling.

Definitly better that the first episode. If there were not these bad jokes from that priest, this anime would rock so much.
angela did a nice job on both the OP and ED, fitting songs for the series, especially the opening song.

Exactly what makes him a coward? I see no sign of any cowardice from him whatsoever.

I got totally creeped out during the funeral scene when the coffin popped open. I was kind of hoping they did more with that scene. I like how Makina gets beaten up unlike other heroes who just magically get some epic power boost when fighting enemies and win without a scratch. Minari is pretty hot stuff too. We need to see more of her.

Does anyone know why the kid just follows the cat and listens to it like it's the normal thing to do? I'm really interested since any normal person would at least question the cat at some point. Has he always had this cat following him or did this start when he noticed Hime was dead in the temple?

As a manga reader I am quite annoyed at how they are pitching Ouri as a main character. I mean what the hell does the kid contribute to the story? All he does is get in the way and make things all the more difficult for Makina. I was hoping for a deeper development between Keisei (contractor) and Makina (Shikabane Hime). So far they are utterly failing with their push for the useless Ouri, but who knows how this series will end up. For now, Makina is doing a good job of making one question whether Necrophilia isn't all that bad...

It was very annoying watching Makina make a speech every time she was about to kill a shikabane and then getting beat up in the middle of it... Why doesn't she just shoot the god damn things and make the speech later?

Other than that, good episode, even though Ouri is kind of useless.

Great episode, had such a dreary setting to it the whole way through. Though, it was nice to see them add in some humour too, which didn't take away from the story at all. Very well done, I will be sticking with this till the end.

Bleh, had to change my monitor setting from default to ultrabright 5x to see anything. Another ho-hum episode overall though; hopefully they provide an explanation soon as to why Ouri isn't even phased by a talking cat that can phase through walls.

Episode was better than the rather boring last one.

Though, I am still not really convinced that this is worth my time. But at least it will keep me watching.

Songs by angela are always a good pick, but compared to the nice ED song the OP song is a bit on the weak side. The op-video was ok though.

Getting annoyed at people who don't do their research.

We have a second season after this (confirmed before this even began airing), which has another 13 episodes, which comes to a total of 26 episodes. The pace at the moment is perfectly fine.

As for the episode, it had lots of great moments, but also a couple rather bad bits at the end that brought it down. The OP and ED are nice though. Looking forward to the next episode.
