If I could make a chapter thread, I would. Unfortunately, the series makes it pretty hard to tell how many chapters there are so volume thread it is! Any thoughts?

The first two volumes were always juggling funny and dark moments but this volume sure did tip the scale to dark for me. It was nice learning a bit about all four characters. That ending, if that traveler is who Kuro thinks he is, was pretty depressing.

I'm so glad that the author has finally continued this! If only more people knew about it...

I for one absolutely LOVE this series. A few years back, when I didn't have a job or any money, I read the first 2 issues online. Until recently though, I've been expanding on my manga collection. Went on Amazon to see what they have, and my heart skipped a beat when I saw 'Shoulder a Coffin Kuro, volume 3'. I bought it with a ton of other manga, and then ended up getting the first 2. Reread them and then read the third. It's fantastic to see the series going on. Really, it's one of the best manga I have read in a long time. Great setting, mood, characters... the whole 9 yards.

So, Waffocopter - do you think this is the last issue, or will we have another volume? I for one am hoping for the latter. The chemistry between the characters is just too perfect.

On another note - I did get the second volume of GA when it was 60% off, but never read any others including that one. Is that series any good?

I prefer Kuro over GA but it's still good. Takes me longer to read than you'd think for 4komas and the characters are pretty diverse. I still recommend it but of course only if you can stand school setting series with girls who do funny things.

I'm pretty sure the author will release more volumes. I think both were just on hiatus for a while and the author finally got some inspiration/motivation again. That's why both of her series suddenly got a new volume around the same time. So I'm pretty optimistic that there will be more to Kuro's adventures.

And I love this series enough that I have Kuro's coffin standing in my family room. I still need to fix up the buttons on those cloth strips before it's really complete...
