If you have heard rumors it would be interesting to see what direction the story would go it. Although I appreciated the ending, so I am not sure I want it ruined...

I would be on the fence about a new season....

Honestly, I'm not sure if I want a Season 4 or not but I'll definitely watch it. It's true that Season 3 wasn't as good as Season 1 and 2 but to be honest...I really want Kikuri to die...if I can see that in Season 4, I'll be happy :D

in season one, what deal did hajime make with the grandma in order to escape the twilight?
what happened to hajime, almost as if tsugumi sent him to hell or something -.- (im sure she wouldnt)
well actually i dont have many questions. but those are really.. killing me. i'd appreciate if the staff there at least answered them somehow -.-

I honestly don't want a fourth season, seeing that Mitsuganae was a huge disappointment (in my opinion) and isn't there some sort of closure in the last season already?

But if there will be new season, please make it better than the last...or at least they won't do the mistake of sending people to Hell because of some trivial things lol

Like Kashiyuu says, i would like to have my questions answered (i have quite a few, actually..Help me out Kashyiuu if you remember any more) and tie up all those loose ends....

Season One.

1. What does Hajime give the grandmother in exchange for his passage back?
2. Who or what is Ai's grandmother, what is her duty, and why does she call her 'grandmother'?

Futakomori

In Ep.26, Ai took the boat back and so was stripped of her powers and position as Enma.
3. The devil asked her companions to protect her. Why didn't they?
4. Wanyudo says her body will age 400 years in an instant since she was normal again. Why didn't she?

Mitsugane

5. Ai's soul and the souls of her parents were set free at the end of Futakomori and Ai was released from her contract. Why does she return?
6. She doesn't have a form since her body was destroyed so how was she able to separate herself and be independent from Yuzuki?

7. Tsugumi says that Yuzuki was able to become a middle schooler and lead a normal life even after her death. How is that possible?
8. If Yuzuki's life was an illusion as Tsugumi says and none of the people she thought she knew, actually knew her, then how was she able to have a real story with Akie?
9. After assuming the role of Jigoku Shoujo, Yuzuki asks Wanyudo if it would be the case that Yuzuki's father wouldn't recognize her, which suggests strongly that her life up until the end of middle school actually happened. If it really happened, why did everyone suddenly not know her although they could see her?
10. If everybody could still see her but just didnt know her, instead of accepting the role of Jigoku Shoujo (that she absolutely didn't want to), couldn't she still start a fresh life? It would have been like she hadn't died after all. Its painful but still preferable than ferrying the soles of the cursed for all eternity.
11. FINALLY..... WHAT IN THE WORLD happened to Hajime; Hajima chan, our beloved, charismatic, freelance journalist from season one???!!! The sadness in Tsugumi's eyes whenever she speaks about him suggests something really terrible and tragic...It's just too big a mystery to hide, dammit!

If anybody's got plausible answers to these questions, I'd love to hear them too...

Anyways, enough with the questions. As for a season 4...Those who're worried that the ending of Mitsugane might be spoiled, relax...They've delivered 3 EPIC endings (personally, I love the end of Futakomori over Mitsugane but both are exceptional, nevertheless) already and no one can deny, the depth, intricacy and beauty of the stories only grew. As long as the Seiyuu and the studio stay the same, you guys have nothing to worry about.

If there really is a Season 4, of course, there has to be a deep, involving, a moving storyline, a smashing ending, and maybe another amazing ending theme like Aizome from Futakomori. But ultimately, I would love to see Ai (and her companions) somehow become human again (as a repayment for her dedicated service and hardships.....or a gift from God or something), forgive Sentarou, fall in love and lead a life filled with TONS of happiness and rainbows and butterflies :)

What do you guys say?

I had to make an account just so I could clarify the questions that were not answered correctly by arkv,

The answers I believe ark got wrong are marked with "*"

1. I am not sure, I agree with arkv's idea for this one.

2. I am also puzzled by that one...

*3. Her companions were told to watch over her, they were not aloud to intervene though,

6. Also arkv being correct... Was a really weird thing though, still was flukey story variable

*7. It isn't possible, its not that it was an illusion, she spent time at the school likely never appearing as visible, she was just crazy and in her own head she was part of that school life...

*8. This is very important, yuzuki did meat akie before she died by the river, she gave her a piece of candy, it was a very special moment to yuzuki, because everyone was already forsaking her at that point, this is the only reason akie is so special to yuzuki. And likely is why she followed her life and incorporated her into her illusion

9. She simply asked it as a rhetorical question, because she still remembers her own illusion

10. Arkv is right again I think, she gains the power to interact with the world properly only after becoming jigoku shoujo, otherwise she would have to leave the world, as she is not permitted to stay in the world by this religion, she was just confused until then.

11. My guess is also the same as arkv's...

A little disclaimer : these answers are what I got from my own observation and putting together and not backed up by specific answer from creators. These are answers I came up with my own understanding.

1.I believe and guess that she wanted to help free Ai from the hatred that controls her.
2. The grandma, kinda works like Akie was for yuzuki. She's Ai's guide.
3. It's as Ocarina said, they were told to watch over her, they weren't allowed to interfere that was their punishment
4.he didn't say she would age but that her body would suffer the stress of 400 years...I'm understand it but not quite sure I can explain it to you...but her body didn't suffer the pain and stress as you can see her body was all injured and bruised. That is what he meant.
5.this is the one question i have for the creator, but for now I assume it is becasue it was her job to help prepair the next jigoku shoujo.
6. I believe it was simply time. Also if I remember corrently they separated at the gates of hell, so I believe what we saw was her soul, not body.
7. And 8. Ocarina already said it. I also agree with the two answers. If I recall correctly yuzuki does say that the Akie in the end of the anime was not the Akie she knows.
9. It was an illusion, she was just asking. I think it could be that since she believed everything that happened didn't happen, because "Akie" was with her. So she might had wanted to make sure his memories couldn't be connected through Akie.
10. True, I did think of this, but it could be that it'd be almost impossible to get into high school without any records. Also she did come to accept the role, she didn't protest it in the end, she also came to believe that the existence of hell link was needed.
11. I think he died after righting the books about the real Enma Ai and decided to stop chasing Ai. There is a possibility that he was sent to hell and Tsugumi probably felt guilty because she was unable to prevent it. If he died normally I believe the reason Tsugumi felt guilty, was because she felt that the reason Hajime gave up was because he didn't want to cause her any more pain. She felt guilty for being the reason he had to give up his dream and goal of stopping hell link.

1 think u got wrong, Yuzuki was in real world, real world was just altered cause there is a lot of power inside her, so it was mix of real world & her illusion, the story did not took place in spirit world, & the Akie controlled bi the spider was Fake, Yuzuki created her with her mind, they even say'd it in anime that it was Fake Akie, i have seen full series 3 times

Hmm. I think a season 4 would be awesome because like I WUB hell girl and Im dying for more. It should be about how the new hell girl is just sending people to hell whoever she wants and wanyuudo keeps having to save her so ail gets wanyuudo to leave the other hell girl and THAT Hell girl will go to hell for eternity, and Ai's back to her job.

I just finished season 3 and i want more.
But, i guess that wont happen since Ai wont be relieved of duty again so they can only make random episodes. Or they could try to fight a spider. or, or.
Meh, its better like this. they will just ruin it with new season :(

to answer of the questions that have been asked above:

1. The deal Hajime made with Ais grandmother is to write about Ais true story to the world so everyone out there could know she went through hardships as well and had to pay for her consequences.

2. In season 3, at some point Ais companions ask "what happened to hajime" which is a clear indicator that he wasnt sent to hell. Ai and he companions should easily remember sending a man like hajime to hell, especially the type of encounters they had togther. So it's safe to say the he has either passed away and went to heaven with his wife, or he has gone into hiding. Perhaps because he has giving up on humanity and is afraid of being sent to hell by anyone for any reason.

Thats about all of the clear answers that i can give although it was only a handful. Hope it helps.

I have a question , How did Yuziki was able to turn herself into Hell girl, I saw her eyes turning into red but why and how isit possible for normal people to turn into it.... and how can she get free once she becomes jigoku shoujo and if she returns to a normal life ,that means she would die........????
I want the father and daughter from season one to be back as a main role in season four and also that kid from season two ....And I wan more concentration on the past of Enma Ai.

I dont remember anymore what really happen when they killed her, but second question is easy.
As Hell Girl she cant die and she need to make other people trade their soul for murder. Im sure its not easy to live hundreds of years doing same thing over and over again and by free they mean she will finally die.
About first season MC's, if i remember correctly, there is big time skip between seasons so "father" might be dead and "daughter" shows few times in season 2 and 3.

And Kikuri was damn spider host or something like that, of she/it would not be afraid :)

I think the deal hajime made was to write some biography about jigoku shoujo aka enma ai...which he actually did before dissapearing

I hope in season four, all of them trick this damned spider/Satan with the help of real God. I think what was missing in this series was the role of God who is supposed to be merciful. God should judge who goes to hell rather than a demonic Satan/master of hell. The lack of God in the series about hell made me rather disturbed:/

If hell girl season 4 some out in July 2017 like Crunchyroll say that it will I hope that it is better than season 2 & 3 there are so many questions that have gone with out any resolution and the thing that I hated most about the series is that in season 2 & 3 some times people will get sent to hell for no good reason that pist me off about the series and is happens a lot people being sent to hell just because

For season 4, the only thing I am still curious about (and I am hoping that it will be answered) is the past-life of Kikuri (if she got any). Who, or what is she? We all know that she is the vessel for Hell's Spider, but before she appears, is she a human with a tragic backstory? Or an entity created solely to monitor the actions of Ai and co.? (after Ai's 'rebellion' on the 1st season)

I doubt that they would pay attention to Kikuri (coz' it seems that the new character for the upcoming anime will be the focus of the story & hoping that she doesn't leave a 'meh' impression coz' I already seem to be interested to her) but it would be great if they gave us subtle hints to plotholes.

I too, want to know what happened to Hajime & how Tsugumi is coping, and also how Takuma (the crime framed boy from Futakomori) move on from his 'eventful' past.
