Since the Halloween & Cosplay party is coming up, I felt that we needed a thread to do our party plans.

As for the plans for the upcoming Halloween & Cosplay Party itself, are we really holding it right after school? Would it be better to hold the party just a little bit later so members can go home and get ready? Also, should we make a sign up sheet for food to see who is bringing what? That way, we'll know what we need to buy with donation money and everybody won't just bring cookies, for example.

Holding the party a little later makes sense, but Kubo is the one that needs to authorize it.

For the food sign-up, we should make a list of what we want people to bring (e.g. cups, chips, soda, et cetera) and then people sign their names next to whichever item they choose. Whatever is not chosen in the end will have to be bought with donation money, but we will know exactly what is being brought.

Are we still going to require people to pay money to come to the party?

I'll get started on a sign-up sheet for them to sign up on Friday to bring food.

I don't think we are charging them an admission fee... Our members are jsut going to help us clean the halls right before watching the rest of Pokemon.

That's very true. Though holding it a bit later would allow more time for people to get into costume. If it's right after school, I don't think many people are going to be able to dress-up, unless they have an off-period like some seniors.

I'll talk to Kubo before the meeting starts on Friday, if you want. Unless someone already has plans to tell her earlier.

As for the sign-up sheet, I'm with X's idea.

Also, should we divide different sections of the library up for different activities at the party? We could have a "gaming" corner in the back where you can play Pokemon or something. We'll have anime playing in the front. Should we have any group activities too?

If we are going to have sections, I think it would be smart to have an area for people who just want to hang out and chat that is separate from the other sections; if people do not want to watch or play games, it would probably be better if we try to make sure that they do not bother those who do want to.

As for group activities, the only things that come to mind are games like Telephone and a craft table like for origami or drawing or something. I do not know how much those would contribute to the party, however.

Lots of good ideas here. I'm fine with starting the party later so people can go home to get into costume. How about we have the party from 4:30 - 5:30? Is that enough time? I suspect there are some kids who won't be able to go home so we'll need to plan to let them hang out in the library until party-time.

And Sempi, what were you doing up at 2 in the morning???? Go to sleep!!

Do you think an hour is enough for a party? Maybe we could extend it to 6? Would that be okay? Let's do the sections like you said X. I like that. How about a video game section, anime watching section, craft section, and then do a few group activities?

And to Koneko: I'm sorry, I was still doing homework. T_T

Yes, I'm willing to extend the party until 6. I do think we should do some group activities so the members will be forced to get to know other people besides their little group.

Can anybody bring a Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl? Everybody's played that game before, right? We could do a tournament type thing with it as one of our group activities.

We want to bring some sort of food to the party, right? We kind of missed the opportunity to set up a sign-up sheet so that it does not all come out of the dues, but, honestly, I am skeptical on how much food we have to bring. The party is only an hour and a half long: two class periods. Nobody should be starving horribly.

But, we have to bring something. May I propose bringing pumpkin mini-muffins? They would be in the Halloween spirit, and I know that they are very good. Even my sister, who is not a huge fan of pumpkin flavored anything like myself, enjoys their flavor. They would be a fun little treat before we have everybody go back to the library for game playing and anime watching.

If you can get some, please bring them! So far we have 4 dozen cookies and two bags of candy. I think that only with the mini-muffins that's enough food. What we really need is some more group activities.

Can do on the muffins. I will bring them with me at 4:30 tomorrow.

Group activities as in games? The only group games that I know are Wink of Death and Telephone. Do we want to bring board games?

EDIT: What if we had a costume contest? People who do not have costumes could be the judges, or we could just have everyone vote for his/her favorite.

Return of the EDIT: For the anime we play, has it been decided whether we will show FMA, a Miyazaki movie, Halloween episodes from various animes, or a horror anime?

2. Ouran High School Host Club Episode 21 (Halloween Special)
3. Fullmetal Panic Episode 6 (Halloween)
4. Ghost Hunt

The episodes sound good to me!

In response to Sam, I think we should definitely have a costume contest, I mean if we're going cosplay, we might as welll do a mini-contest too haha.

As for games, I think we can wing some group games. We have a fun dance game that band kids play a lot, we could always try to start that.

I'm doing something really simple. Kotonami Kanae from Skip Beat. I don't have time for her typical outfit, so I figure since she's a fashionable character, I'll just wear something nice and add some make-up haha. I mean anime characters might wear some other outfits we don't see XD

I think we should have a mini-costume competition too. What about a prize for the winner? Something small and cheesy would work just fine.

I'll be going as L from Death Note!
