It's The Waste Lands for me, with The Drawing of the Three in a close second.

I've only read the first three, but I was pretty damn impressed by how each successive book was better than its predecessor.

The first one was very good, but not a masterpiece. The second was an absolute classic. The third one was one of the best novels I've ever read. So far, the fourth is very high up there as well.

unfortunately I feel the last 3 books in the series did not live up to the first three. I think with the books being written so far apart it changed the pace of the story too much.

So far, I like The Drawing of the Three the best. I've only read the first four books, and started to re-read them because there's been such a large gap in between reading Wizard and Glass and Wolves of the Calla.

There was just something that I found darker about The Drawing of the Three than the others.

Man, I really need to pick these up again, one reason I haven't finished yet is because when it comes to books, I haven't read anything other than Stephen King in a long time.

I agree with you there. There's a stark difference in the emotion between the 2nd and 3rd books. Roland seems borderline depressed until right up to the end of the 2nd book, but in the 3rd his attitude does a 180 degree turn, after getting Jake back.

I have to say "Wizard and Glass" is right up there with the "The Wastelands" in my view. Perhaps even slightly better. If I had to rank it so far, it would go

I was kind of fond of Wolves of the Calla myself. Maybe it has to do with camping in BC, reading it in a tent. But somehow it gripped me. Of course I'm one of the few that quite enjoys Calla-speak.

This is a hard pick... I will go with Wizard and Glass because it gives so much insight to Roland's past!!! I hope it moves to the big screen or a series soon!!! An anime would be awesome!!!
