Victoria said nothing, she just patted his head and stood up. She dusted off her pants and put on her hat "well, it was nice speaking with you sir." She walked off without another word. When she was sure she was out of his sight she ran faster than any human should. Like the speed of a demon and a cat combined. She looked around the town in her curiosity, then she made her way back. Slowing down when she got close to the house; and she just hoped that no one had seen her.
Edward watched from his window in amazement,; her speed was not human. He narrowed his eyes, realizing his suspicions were confirmed. He watched her until she disappeared from his view. He creeped towards the room that their guests were staying quiet as a snake, he silently opened the door to find Victoria curled up in a nightgown on a chair; she looked exactly like a sleeping cat. He left the room, closing the door gently. He made his way back to his own room where he kept watch.

Claudius chuckled, "Your slippery, aren't you? Like an eel...or a snake...As for Victoria, you should ask her yourself." He turned and started to walk down the stairs, "Tell Victoria and Logan, if they ask, that I'm going out for a bit..."

Claudius stopped at the door and smiled, "That's just what I wanted to know, Cobra King." He opened the door and stepped out to the colorless town.

Edward rolled his eyes and sat down at his chair once again. His door opened with a quiet creak. He whipped around to see the other demon, he smiled at her "hello...Victoria."
"Hello snake." She replied coldly.
"What brings you here?"
"I am what you suspected..."
"Ah." Edward folded his hands and rested his hand on them, smiling up at her. "Is that all?" Victoria gave a silent nod then she left the room. Walking back to the guest room.

Claudius walked around mindlessly. it was as if no one else was around. Just him as the fog closed in. He looked around, suddenly aware of his surroundings. Something was watching him. Something he wasn't acquainted with. It wasn't the demons, it wasn't the shinigami, and it wasn't the angels that he knew. it was something else. Something different...something with more force. Claudius felt something pushing him down to his knees.
"Claudius Holmes...it was your fault," the cold voice pierced his brain, "do not forget that. It was your fault."
Claudius fell to his hands and stared at the ground shakily.

Victoria stared up at the moon, it's bright light shining into her room. She got up onto the windowsill and climbed to the roof, overlooking the town. She noticed a small figure, unmoving in the middle of the street. If she didn't have such great eyesight she wouldn't have seen them.
Edward looked over his shoulder "he went....out..."

Logan stared at him, "Seriously? It's been ages...I wonder if he's okay."
There was a gentle knock on the door. Logan went to open it. Claudius was clutching his chest and his face was pale, beaded with sweat.

Logan set Claudius down, Claudius clung to the wall. Logan went over and slapped Edward, "You insolent demon. i told you to watch over them and to not let them be in danger. You saw Claudius go out, why didn't you alert Miss Victoria?"

Claudius glared at Edward. He remembered clearly not telling him anything of the sort.
Logan breathed in heavily. He turned to Victoria, his face as hard as stone. No longer smiling, "Take your master to his room. He's obviously not feeling well. I'm stepping out. If I don't return...well, let's just hope i haven't gotten eaten, shall we?" He glanced pointedly at Edward and strolled out. He set his hand on Claudius's shoulder apologetically before leaving through the large oak doors which slammed behind him.

Victoria picked up Claudius, carrying him stiffly to the guest room, she set him down on the bed and looked him in the eye. Her gaze was soft yet stern "what happened Claudius?"

Edward followed Logan out, his posture and his face stiff. He glared at Logan "what is it sir?" His voice was as harsh as his gaze.

Logan turned and stared up at the moon, "I am the one who humiliated myself most. I am the one torturing myself to the end." His eyes sparkled as he glared at Edward, "I will issue this command once more. I order you to protect Victoria and Claudius. Do not let this happen again. Do you understand?

Claudius took a shaky breath. "I know it's not our battle to fight in be least. What happens in this town stays in this town."

~The Next Day~
Claudius and Victoria came down the stairs quietly. Logan was joking around with Edward, who was cleaning up another broken vase.
"Oh! Claudius!" Logan smiled and ran over, "Guess what? So today, our maid broke another vase! I was telling Edward this joke about how...why are you staring at me like that Claudius?"
Claudius was fully aware of what Logan was capable now. This boy was confident. Confident enough to smack a snake demon in the face and walk away.

Edward gave a sharp sigh, he would enjoy taking Logan's soul after this was all over with. He walked to the trash and threw away the shards as he had done the previous day.

Victoria watched the demon, he seemed very different from her; then again most demons were. She stared ahead without saying a word. Her right hand gripped her left wrist as she watched the others chat.

Logan laughed after Claudius's brief explanation as to what was wrong, "Oh that?! That was nothing. You were hallucinating. Honestly, that was scary! i was like 'Oh my god what do I do?!'. Oh, this one time when i was younger, I fell into the pond outside near the garden and Edward had to jump into get me and he was all wet when he came out and I was freaking out then too. I keep blabbering when i'm nervous or something. Oh yeah! I helped cats give birth yesterday, i should go check on that. I'll see you at lunch then?" Logan swung around, gleaming with happiness, "Want to come along Edward? If you don't that's fine! You can keep cleaning up messes around the house. Claudius, Victoria? Are you two going out too? I'll tag along, I'll find you guys somewhere after I've gone to check on the cats!"

Logan thought, then nodded, "In my study. There's a few bookshelves there. You can use the paper and the pen if you need. There's also a phone." He opened the door and waited for Victoria.

Victoria followed Logan out of the house, a little cautious about being away from her master in a strange town. She put on her hat that she often wore in the sun, it helped to keep her from growing drowsy.

"I love cats because they remind me of myself. Curious yet willing to protect those they care about." Victoria stroked the mother, who surprisingly didn't scratch at her. She smiled at the kittens suckling and counted them in her head "4 kittens, what a lucky mother"
