It was dark, all around him. He couldn't see a thing. He tried to scream, but nothing came out. He tried to reach out, but his body was numb. He could only feel the pain. Something hot, crawling from his left side up to his right shoulder.
Claudius shot up, drenched in sweat, screaming. It was still dark out, but Claudius couldn't sleep anymore. He gently touched his scar to make sure it was still closed and he looked around for a source of light

Victoria walked in holding a candelabra and a blanket wrapped around her. She was wearing a long, black, flowing night gown. Her eyes glowed green, they were illuminated by the candelabra and were shining. They were still green because of an earlier incident with James but they were getting darker and almost black. Her voice was a calm whisper as she spoke "what happened master?"

Victoria looked at him "you're lying..." she set the candelabra on the stand next to Claudius' bed. She stared at him "tell me what really happened..." she knew it must have been his dreams but she still wanted to know.

Claudius didn't look at Victoria. How was he suppose to explain his dream? He only remember the searing pain. "It was nothing Victoria. I just had a bad dream," Claudius chuckled quietly, "Now, doesn't that make me sound like a little kid?"

Claudius smiled, a smile that didn't seem as friendly as his usual self, "You do sleep, don't you? You can go now Victoria. I'm gonna try to go back to sleep..."

Victoria smiled "I don't sleep often but yes, I do. Have a peaceful night's rest." she walked quietly out of the room, leaving the candelabra next to him on the table.

Victoria opened the door and sighed "you haven't been yourself lately..." she set the tray next to him. Her eyes completely black, they had even lost their shine. They were just plain black...

Claudius set his papers down on his desk and crossed his arms, "What do you mean Victoria? How have I changed?" He asked this, but he knew full well how he changed. After seeing Ringmaster and having Victoria tortured, the barrier he had created from the outside world had come up again and he hadn't thought it would affect his relationship with Victoria too.

Victoria stared at him "after the ringmaster...you've put up that same old barrier from the outside world...you have to realize that nothing can hurt you as long as I'm by your side..." she smiled "I'd risk my life" she walked out of the room quietly. Leaving Claudius to think about it for himself.

Claudius stared at the ground, "That's what I don't want you to do Victoria...why do you even care about me so much? I'm just your meal..."

Alton sat on the edge of Heaven and Earth, staring down at the portal that was like a TV screen to Claudius's home. Archer paced busily behind him, reading over letters of complaints from the older angels.

Alton laid on his back, his legs still hanging off the edge, and he stared at his siblings. "Erika, what do you know about Victoria? I mean, she seems a bit too nice to the little ol' grumpy-pants." Archer looked at Alton, "Didn't you save them?" Alton rolled his eyes and swung his legs around, "Only because Erika was about to cry!"

Erika looked over at him "Victoria saved my life once! She's so nice." she continued to play with the bird. She ignored the fact that Alton had only saved Victoria and Claudius because she almost cried.

Alton waved his hand to dismiss the fact that stuff happened. He half crawled, half dragged himself to Archer and hugged his legs, "Archer! Erika is ignoring me!!!" Archer looked down at his brother. The one that had been so cold yesterday.

Erika hummed and played with the little flying creature she wasn't wearing a dress today, rather a tank top and skirt. Instead on sandals on her feet she had flats. Her long silver hair tied back into a pony tail and around her neck was a cross necklace.

Erika stared nervously and uncomfortably at the three. She didn't want anything to happen to them, after all they were family. She tried to hide the utter shock on her face, it was all so unexpected! Morgan whispered to the two older angels so their younger sister could not hear them. "You know how you wanted to become demons but the council wouldn't let you? This is your chance."

Archer glared at Morgan, then glanced at Erika. Now that Morgan brought that up he wasn't quite sure he wanted to. Alton, too, was worried that Erika might be bullied. He glanced at his twin, then looked at Morgan, "What's the catch, shinigami?"

Victoria walked in, her shoulder seemed slightly stiff as she brought in her master's morning tea. She set it in front of him "today we have green tea sir..." She said, she voice seemed slightly tired, considering she had been out all night and she just woke up. She wore a maid's dress that went slightly past her knees. Her hair was tied back into a bun and a slight smile was on her otherwise bland face.

Claudius nodded uncertainly, "We're going to investigate the "most beautiful death" as Her Majesty puts it. Interested or should I deny?" Claudius has been gathering his thoughts and when he does that, the barrier of protection blocks out any trust from his mind.

"Well this is...peculiar..." Victoria muttered, noticing the bland town. She almos freely out of place with the small spec of color on her. It was a sapphire necklace, it was a little dull but still beautiful. Her mother had given it to her when she was still small.

Claudius sighed and took off his top hat, "Now that we're here..."
He heard a scream somewhere close by. He watched as a boy, his age probably, came out of the alley way. His long black coat was stained with a dark red and his black hair was covered in dried blood. He looked over at Claudius. Claudius shivered when he noticed the strange glowing green eyes.
The guy walked over and smiled at Victoria and Claudius, "You two new in town?"
